Objectives: Tuberculosis (TB) and drug-resistant TB (DR-TB) are national health burdens in Vietnam. In this study, we investigated the prevalence of rifampicin (RIF) and/or isoniazid (isonicotinic acid hydrazide, INH) resistance in patients with suspected TB, and applied appropriate techniques to help rapidly target DR-TB. Methods: In total, 1,547 clinical specimens were collected and cultured using the BACTEC MGIT system (Becton Dickinson and Co.). A resazurin microtiter assay (REMA) was used to determine the proportions of RIF and/or INH resistance. A real-time polymerase chain reaction panel with TaqMan probes was employed to identify the mutations of rpoB and katG associated with DR-TB in clinical isolates. Genotyping of the identified mutations was also performed. Results: A total of 468 Mycobacterium tuberculosis isolates were identified using the REMA. Of these isolates, 106 (22.6%) were found to be resistant to 1 or both antibiotics. Of the resistant isolates, 74 isolates (69.8%) were resistant to isoniazid (INH) only, while 1 isolate (0.94%) was resistant to RIF only. Notably, 31 isolates (29.24%) were resistant to both antibiotics. Of the 41 phenotypically INH-resistant isolates, 19 (46.3%) had the Ser315Thr mutation. There were 8 different rpoB mutations in 22 (68.8%) of the RIF-resistant isolates. The most frequently detected mutations were at codons 531 (37.5%), 526 (18.8%), and 516 (6.3%). Conclusion: To help prevent new cases of DR-TB in Vietnam, it is crucial to gain a comprehensive understanding of the genotypic DR-TB isolates.

The study investigates Environmental Accounting Information (EAI) as well as factors affecting the environmental accounting implementation by the construction firms listed on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HOSE), Vietnam. After eliminating seven enterprises that lacked data, the authors selected a sample of 112 observations from 28 construction businesses listed on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange in the period 2015-2018. This study uses research data extracted from the companies' annual reports. Then, the data are analyzed by Stata 13 software, including descriptive statistics, correlation coefficient analysis, regression analysis of table data using estimation methods (Pooled OLS, REM, FEM), and testing of model defects (heteroskedasticity test, multicollinearity test, autocorrelation test). The results show that construction companies listed on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange have out factors affecting the environmental accounting implementation by these enterprises, including independent audit firm and listed time. While the independent auditor firm has a positive and significant impact, the listed time has a negative influence. In addition, our study has confirmed the role of institutional factors affecting the disclosure level of EAI on the implementation of environmental accounting by construction enterprises listed on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange.

Legal Implications of U.S. CVD on Tires and Undervalued Currency in the WTO's SCM
Thi Thanh Tuyen Nguyen,주선,최창환 한국무역학회 2023 Journal of Korea trade Vol.27 No.5
Purpose – This paper examines whether the imposition of countervailing duties by the United States on undervalued foreign currency is legally consistent with the WTO's SCM Agreement. Design/methodology – The study uses a methodology that involves analyzing relevant WTO agree- ments, prior panel reports, Appellate Body decisions, and other legal documents. Findings – The findings suggest that to impose countervailing duties, certain legal requirements must be met, including financial contribution, benefit, and specificity. The paper also notes that when calculating the benefits of undervalued foreign currency, losses from import activities due to currency undervaluation must be considered. Additionally, classifying all exports to the US under specific industries or business groups is likely to be inconsistent with the SCM Agreement. Originality/value – Even the US countervailing measures on exchange rate subsidies may not comply with WTO regulations due to incorrect calculation of benefits and a lack of specificity, however, it suggests that when intervening in the foreign exchange market, the measures should aim to achieve only minimum policy goals.
Studying Factors Affecting Environmental Accounting Implementation in Mining Enterprises in Vietnam
NGUYEN, Thi Kim Tuyen Korea Distribution Science Association 2020 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.7 No.5
The study investigates the impact of factors on environmental accounting implementation in mining enterprises in Binh Dinh province, Vietnam. The survey was carried out in three phases: 1) a draft survey form; 2) in-depth interviews with experts; 3) design questionnaire. The survey respondents were people who had knowledge of environmental information in mining enterprises in Binh Dinh province, including: accountant, chief accountant, financial deputy director or director. The questionnaire was is sent directly or through Google Form tool. The author received 162 responses votes from the survey respondent, out of which 13 were unusable due to missing data. Thus, 149 valid responses votes were used. This study employs Cronbach's alpha analysis, exploratory factor analysis and multivariate regression analysis. The results showed the influence of five different factors on environmental accounting implementation in mining enterprises in Binh Dinh province: stakeholders pressure, corporate characteristics, coercive pressure of government agencies, environmental awareness of senior managers and accountant qualifications of environmental accounting. While the pressure of stakeholders has a negligible influence, the remaining four factors (coercive pressure of government agencies, environmental awareness of senior executives, business characteristics, accountant qualifications of environmental accounting) have significant effect on environmental accounting implementation in mining enterprises in Binh Dinh province, Vietnam.
A comparison in human milk oligosaccharides from Korea, China and Vietnam
Tuyen Thi My Nguyen,NariSeo,YongkiKim,JiAJung,JaehanKim 한국당과학회 2018 한국당과학회 학술대회 Vol.2018 No.01
Among the animal, human uniquely contains high amount and diverse structure of soluble oligosaccharides in milk. The multiple functions for infant of human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs) have been well discussed, particularly sialic acid and fucose containing oligosaccharide. The structure and composition of HMOs structure were diverse among different mothers or breastfeeding period of a given woman as well, and nutritional conditions. The geographical origin of mothers is one of the factors that influence on the HMOs diversity. Hence, we aim to profile HMOs from mothers in Korea, China and Vietnam in the relation to their nutritional status to provide a comprehensive understanding about HMOs from maternal in these countries. The results show that oligosaccharide composition of human milk varied among countries. HMOs from Korea and China were almost similar in term of degree of polymerization (DP) whereas Vietnam HMOs has lower DP3 but high in DP4 and DP5. The ratio of non-secretor mothers that were unable to produce α-1, 2-fucosylated glycans in their secretions, following by Vietnam and lowest in Korea population. The fucosylated, and sialylated HMOs were 62-67%, 4-6% in China and Korea milk respectively while 50% and 9.2% in Vietnam maternal milk. These observed proportion were different from earlier studies that may due to the difference in geographical origin of mothers. Elucidating molecular structure of HMOs provides an important opportunities for improving diet and health care for the neonate in specific region.
