Covid-19 posed a serious threat to public health worldwide, especially in the absence of vaccines or medicines. The only viable strategies to combat a virus with a high infection rate were to apply lock-down strategies, transport ban, social and physical distancing. In this work, we provide a domain-specific component model for crisis management. The model allows for building a plan for managing Covid-19 crisis and use the plan as a template to generate a system specific for managing that crisis. The crisis component model is derived from X-MAN II, a generic component model that we have developed for the aircraft industry

4-Arylazo-3-phenyl-5-aminopyrazoles (5a, b) and substituted hydroxythiazoles 8a, b were synthesized from the reaction of 4a, b with hydrazine hydrate and mercaptoacetic acid respectively. Compounds 5a, b and 8a, b were also obtained from coupling of 2a, b with 6 and 7, respectively. 4H-1, 4-Benzothiazine 11 was prepared from 1 and 10. The resaction of the diazonium salts 2a-c with diethyl 3-amino-2-cyanopenet-2-en-1, 5-dicarboxylate 12 was also reported.

The present investigation was designed to assess the anticancer activity of six different leaf extracts (ethyl acetate, methanol, chloroform, petroleum ether, n-butanol, and water soluble) of Abelia triflora on A-549 human lung adenocarcinoma epithelial cells. A-549 cells were exposed to $10-1000{\mu}g/ml$ concentrations of the leaf extracts of A. triflorafor 24 h and then percentage cell viability was assessed by 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2yl)-2,5-biphenyl tetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay. The results showed that leaf extracts of A. triflora significantly reduced the viability of A-549 cells in a concentration-dependent manner. Decrease was recorded as 31% with ethyl acetate, 36% with methanol, 46% with chloroform, 54% with petroleum ether, 62% with n-butanol, and 63% with water soluble extracts at $1000{\mu}g/ml$ each. Among the various plant extracts, ethyl acetate extract showed the highest decrease in the percentage cell viability, followed by methanol, chloroform, petroleum ether, n-butanol, and water soluble extracts. Our results demonstrated preliminary screening of anticancer activity of different soluble extracts of A. triflora extracts against A-549 cells, which can be further used for the development of a potential therapeutic anticancer agents.
Removal of Rhodamine Dye from Water Using Erbium Oxide Nanoparticles

Environmental pollution remains a considerable health risk source all over the world; however, hazards are usually higher in developing countries. Iraq has long been suffering from the problem of pollution and how to treat pollution. Photocatalytic degradation has turned out to be most productive process for dye degradation. In this investigation, Rhodamine B (RhB), dye has been selected for degradation under visible light illumination. To address this issue, we fabricate erbium trioxide nanoparticles (Er<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>/NPs). Erbium trioxide nanoparticles are prepared and utilized for photo-catalytic degradation. The characterization of Er<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>/NPs is described and confirmed by utilizing of XRD (X-ray diffraction) and SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy). The average size of Er<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> nanoparticles is observed to be 16.00 nm. Er<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>/NPs is investigated for its ability of photo-catalytic degradation through certain selected parameters such as concentration and time. The methodological results show that the synthesized Er<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>/NPs is a good photo-catalytic for Rhodamine degradation.
Compressive strength and failure behaviour of fibre reinforced concrete at elevated temperatures

This paper presents the effects of elevated temperatures of $400^{\circ}C$ and $800^{\circ}C$ on the residual compressive strength and failure behaviour of fibre reinforced concretes and comparison is made with that of unreinforced control concrete. Two types of short fibres are used in this study e.g., steel and basalt fibres. The results show that the residual compressive strength capacity of steel fibre reinforced concrete is higher than unreinforced concrete at both elevated temperatures. The basalt fibre reinforced concrete, on the other hand, showed lower strength retention capacity than the control unreinforced concrete. However, the use of hybrid steel-basalt fibre reinforcement recovered the deficiency of basalt fibre reinforced concrete, but still slightly lower than the control and steel fibres reinforced concretes. The use of fibres reduces the spalling and explosive failure of steel, basalt and hybrid steel-basalt fibres reinforced concretes oppose to spalling in deeper regions of ordinary control concrete after exposure to above elevated temperatures. Microscopic observation of steel and basalt fibres surfaces after exposure to above elevated temperatures shows peeling of thin layer from steel surface at $800^{\circ}C$, whereas in the case of basalt fibre formation of Plagioclase mineral crystals on the surface are observed at elevated temperatures.
Relation of BAALC and ERG Gene Expression with Overall Survival in Acute Myeloid Leukemia Cases

Background: The objectives of this study were to evaluate the expression of brain and acute leukemia, cytoplasmic (BAALC) gene and erythroblast transformation-specific related gene (ERG) in de novo cases of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and identify roles in disease progression and outcome. Materials and Methods: This study included 50 newly diagnosed AML patients, along with 10 apparently healthy normal controls. BAALC and ERG expression was detected in the bone marrow of both patients and controls using real-time RT-PCR. Results: BAALC and ERG expression was detected in 52% of cases but not in any controls. There was a statistically significant correlation between BAALC and ERG gene expression and age (p-value=0.004 and 0.019, respectively). No statistical significance was noted for sex, lymphadenopathy, hepatomegaly, splenomegaly, other hematological findings, immunophenotyping and FAB sub-classification except for ERG gene and FAB (p-value=0.058). A statistical significant correlation was found between response to treatment with ERG expression (p-value=0.028) and age (p-value=0.014). A statistically significant variation in overall survival was evident with patient age, BM blast cells, FAB subgroups, BAALC and ERG expression (p-value=<0.001, 0.045, 0.041, <0.008 and 0.025 respectively). Conclusions: Our results suggest that BAALC and ERG genes are specific significant molecular markers in AML disease progression, response to treatment and survival.

A novel disperse azo dye for dyeing polyester and nylon 6 fabrics in supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2) fluid has been synthesized. 3-cyano acetyl indol was used as the starting material, which reacted with aryl/heteroaryl diazonium salts to afford arylhydrazonopropanenitriles. The newly synthesized compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, IR and 1H-NMR spectroscopy, and the results were observed to be in good agreement with the proposed structures. The influence of scCO2 working conditions, such as dyeing concentration, pressure, temperature, and dyeing time, on fabric color strength were studied. Moreover, the color strength was examined in detail. In addition, the position of color in CIELAB coordinates (L*, a*, b*, h*, C*) was assessed. The color fastness of the dyed samples provided excellent results. The ATR-FTIR results of the dyed samples were found to match the proposed structure.

A number of new reactive disperse dyes were synthesized from 2-chloro-N-(4-aryl-5-arylazo-thiazol-2-yl)-acetamide derivatives (5a-d). The new dyestuffs were applied to dye the nylon-6 fabric in supercritical carbon dioxide(scCO2). The chemical structures of these new dyes were explained by elemental and spectroscopic analyses. Then, thesuitability of dyestuffs under study for textile dyeing as disperse reactive dyes was reported. All four dyes (5a-5d) exhibitedstrong color strength, which may be attributed to excellent dye penetration in the fabric afforded by scCO2. The color fastnessof dyed samples was measured, and the results demonstrated excellent values and extremely satisfactory washing durability. The dyed samples showed excellent antibacterial activity against Bacillus cereus, Staphylococcus aureus (G+ bacteria), andEscherichia coli (G- bacteria) compared with selected antibiotics as a reference standard; the retention of this excellentantibacterial activity was still satisfactory even after five washing cycles.
Bioactivity Guided Phytochemical Study of Clematis hirsuta Growing in Saudi Arabia

Bioactivity guided phytochemical study of the petroleum ether and butanol extracts of Clematis hirsuta resulted in the isolation of 12 compounds. Rat paw edema as a model of acute inflammation was used to evaluate the anti-inflammatory activity of the extracts and the chromatographic fractions. Five known sterols and triterpenes namely: ${\beta}-amyrin$ (1), lupeol (2), ${\beta}-sitosterol$ (3), oleanolic acid (4) and stigmasterol glycoside (5) were isolated from the petroleum ether extract. The n-butanol extract afforded two compounds reported for the first time from natural source: (S)-(+)-dihydro-5-(hydroxymethyl)-2(3H)-furanone (7) and (s)-(-)-5-hydroxymethyl-2(5H)-furanone (8). In addition, anemonin (6), dihydro-4-hydroxy-5-(hydroxymethyl)-2(3H)-furanone (2-deoxy-D-ribono-1,4-lactone) (9), biophenol (cimidahurin) (10), glucose (11) and sucrose (12) were also identified. The structures were determined from spectroscopic data including 1D- and 2D-NMR experiments.
