        On the Performance of Turbo Codes-Based Hybrid ARQ with Segment Selective Repeat in WCDMA

        In this paper, a new turbo codes-based hybrid automatic repeat request (TC-HARQ) scheme with segment selective repeat (SSR) is proposed. The main strategy is, upon retransmission, to repeat the data that are most important for the next round of decoding based on the distribution of residual errors after current decoding. The performance in terms of reliability and throughput is analyzed. To adapt to correlated fading channels where an inter-leaver is always employed before transmission, we further modify the SSR strategy so that data having experienced correlated deep fading are selected for retransmission. Finally, this proposed scheme is applied to the wideband code division multiple access (WCDMA) system under frequency selective fading channels. Simulation results demonstrate that in all single and multiple user cases, SSR-based TC-HARQ leads to significant throughput improvement with similar bit error rate (BER) performance as compared to type-I TC-HARQ.

        Calcined Attapulgite Clay as Supplementary Cementing Material: Thermal Treatment, Hydration Activity and Mechanical Properties

        The present paper studied the effects of calcination temperatures (200–800 °C) on the appearance, mineral composition, and active SiO2 content in attapulgite and investigated the effects of attapulgite before and after calcination on the chemically bonded water content, the degree of reaction of cement paste, and the mechanical properties such as the flexural strength, compressive strength, and splitting-tensile strength of cement mortar. The results indicate that the calcination temperature changes the mineral composition of attapulgite, thereby affecting the hydration activity of cement-based materials. The attapulgite calcined at 500 °C (AT500) has the best enhancement on the hydration activity of cement-based materials. The calcination at 500 °C is most beneficial to the dissolution of SiO2, and the content of SiO2 reaches 20.96%. The contents of chemically bonded water in the samples incorporated with calcined attapulgite reduced and that of the samples incorporated with AT500 at 28 d is the same as that of the control group. The reaction degree of AT500 is 78.61% at 28 days. Calcined attapulgite clay can reduce the energy consumption of the cement industry and promote the sustainable development of attapulgite clay.

      • Chinese Patients with Gastric Cancer Need Targeted Adjuvant Chemotherapy Schemes

        Background: Gastric cancer (GC) is one of the most common cancers in China. Adjuvant chemotherapy (AC) is a routine auxiliary treatment for GC recommended by the guidelines issued in 2011 by the Ministry of Health of the People's Republic of China, but the relevant credible consequences in China have been insufficient because of China's late start and ethical concerns. Methods: A series of databases, including Cochrane Library, MEDLINE, EMBASE, the Chinese database of the National Knowledge Infrastructure and the VIP database, were searched by 2 reviewers independently for studies investigating AC for GC through March 2012. The retrieved literature was screened according to the eligibility criteria. Results: A total of 35 randomized control trials (RCTs) were subjected to the final analysis, including 4,043 patients in treatment group and 3,884 in the control group, as well as 4 clinical-control trials (CCTs), which accessed the final analysis with 238 and 252 patients, respectively. AC reduced the risk of death as a protective treatment with statistical significance (HR=0.91, 95%CI: [0.85, 0.97], P=0.002), and it seemed more effective for Asian than non-Asian patients. The effects of AC were not influenced by the starting time (P>0.05). D2 lymphadenectomy-based chemotherapy was effective (HR=0.89, 95%CI: [0.80, 0.99], P=0.04). Oral S-1 40 mg/m2 after D2 lymphadenectomy might be a better choice for Asians with advanced GC and might result in a greater reduction of adverse events than in non-Asian patients. GRADE quality assessment determined that the strength of the evidence from foreign studies from Europe, the United States and Asian countries other than China was high, while it was moderate for Chinese studies. Conclusion: AC was effective or even curative in Chinese patients in general, although it is still necessary to optimize a targeted AC scheme for Chinese patients with GC.

        Tensile and Fracture Properties of Silicon Carbide Whisker-Modified Cement-Based Materials

        Silicon carbide whiskers (SiCw) have many excellent properties such as high strength, high elastic modulus, and high temperature resistance. In this paper, by using water reducer as dispersant, a stable SiCw dispersion was obtained, and SiCw-modified cement-based composites were prepared. Tensile strength tests for 8-shaped specimens were carried out on the materials. The fracture properties of the materials were measured using a three-point bending test with pre-cracks based on the digital image correlation method. The microstructure of the SiCw-modified mortar was observed by SEM. The results showed that the SiCw improved the tensile strength of the cement-based materials, and the addition of SiCw effectively improved the fracture toughness of mortar. The SiCw caused crack deflection during crack propagation, accompanied by whisker pull-out and bridging phenomena. The SiCw bridging effect and pull-out mechanism effectively controlled the crack propagation and played a toughening role, thus enhancing the crack resistance of mortar.

        Potential effect of the global warming to the subfamily Lipotactinae (Orthoptera: Tettigoniidae) in China and acoustics data of Lipotactes truncatus Shi & Li, 2009

        Species in the subfamily Lipotactinae are brachypterous with a small body and have limited dispersal ability. In this study, it’s the first time to describe the male calling song of Lipotactes truncatus Shi & Li, 2009. MaxEnt was used to predict the potential geographic distribution of Lipotactinae in present-day and year 2070, in order to explore responses to global warming of this subfamily in China. As for L. truncatus, two types of calling songs are observed with the peak frequencies in the ultrasound range. With the trend of global warming, the suitable habitats of the subfamily Lipotactinae will change in three ways: i) migrate to high latitude area; ii) migrate to the coastal region of south China; iii) migrate along altitude gradients in mountains. Some species will be locked into the “sky islands”, which will accelerate speciation process, with global warming.

      • Research on Torque Ripple Suppression of Position Sensorless Brushless DC Motor during Commutation

        Position sensorless PM brushless DC motor generates pilsating current in the course of nature commutation, which causes torque ripple. In order to reduce the torque ripple, the current during commutation is controlled by certain methods which need current sensors usually. This paper proposed a novel and low cost method which can reduce torque ripple by changing the duty cycle during comutation. Experimental results show that this method is easily used to reduce the pulsating current and torque ripple during comutation without current sensors.

      • A novel starting method of Sensorless PM Brushless DC Motor during Load Variation

        Sensorless PM brushless DC motor will undergo a open-loop acceleration period during the conventional starting. If the load is variational during this period, the starting failure will happen. Base on the conventional starting method, this paper proposed a novel starting method which can check if the forced alignment is succeed, and eliminate “stuck”situation during forced alignment, and makes the motor starts normally during load variating. Experimental results show that this method is viable.

        귀신설화를 원작으로 한 중국 애니메이션의 민족서사 심미 연구 -애니메이션〈소천〉을 중심으로-

        본 연구는 중국 전통 역사 및 문화를 기반으로 ‘의상(意象)’ 세계라는 미적활동에 착안하여 귀신 소재의 애니메이션 <소천>을 시공간, 종족, 가치의 세 가지 차원에서 분석하였다. 이로써 중국 고전 미학이 중국 애니메이션 창작에 다양하게 응용되고 있다는 점을 알 수 있었고 이를 바탕으로 향후 중국 애니메이션 발전을 견인하는 창조적 요인으로 삼을 수 있다는 점을 제시하고 있다. 중화민족은 유구한 문화 역사 속에서 집단으로 귀신 신화를 상상하여 윤회의 시공간과 비인간인 귀(鬼,) 신(神,) 요괴(妖) 등의 형상이 사람과 공생하는 ‘의상’ 세계를 창조해왔다. 민족은 본질적으로 상상의 정치 공동체라 할 수 있고, 애니메이션은 신화의 상상적 담지체로 태생적인 이점을 가지고 있다. 민족적 특색을 갖춘 애니메이션이 다수 창작되면서 귀신 신화와 서로 융합 · 공존하고 있는 현시점에 귀신설화 세계관에 관한 본 연구는 시의적이고 가치 있는 시도라고 생각한다. <소천>에서 ‘의상’ 세계를 세 가지 차원으로 분석한 결과, 중국 고전 미학의 ‘의상’ 세계가 서양의 유물론에 따른 우주 세계관 체계와 매우 다름을 알 수 있었다. ‘의상’ 세계는 천인합일(天人合一)이 중첩되는 구조라서 단지 물리적 차원의 현실 세계가 아니라 생명체 의식을 보여주고 드러내는 것이며 초월적(신화적)이라 감성적으로 깨닫거나 말로 표현하기 어려운 심오한 미적 체험을 전달하고 있다. 미적 특징과 예술적 특징도 갖추고 있어 모호함과 교감, 무한함과 초월, 허실상생(虛實相生), 동적인 것과 정적인 것의 조화 및 시적인 특징에 의해 영적이면서도 무한한 가능성을 갖춘 아름다운 세계라 할 수 있다. 중화민족은 심미의 주체와 객체의 조화를 통해 ‘의상’ 세계를 구축하였으며 이것이 아름다움이 생성되고 존재하는 토대이며, 아름다움은 다시 ‘의상’ 세계를 통해 형성되고 그 모습을 드러낸다. 이러한 분석을 기반으로 중국 쉬커(徐克) 감독의 애니메이션 대표작 <소천> 의 캐릭터, 장면, 스토리, 사상 등을 분석해보니 중국 고전 미학의 ‘의상’ 세계와 현대 애니메이션 요소들이 융합되어 있었다. 현대적 심미관에 걸맞으면서도 중국 전통적 의미를 내포하고 있는 ‘의상’ 세계를 구축하여 작품을 성공적으로 완성한 것이다. 중국 귀신 신화 세계에 대한 연구, 특히 현실 사회의 계층갈등 비판에 대한 이 연구가 중화민족의 심미와 문화적 가치관에 부합하는 작품을 만드는 데 참고가 되길 기대한다. Based on the traditional Chinese historical and cultural background, this study focuses on the “YiXiang world” aesthetic activities in Chinese classical aesthetic thought. It is divided into three dimensions: time and space, the measurement of race and the extent of value to analyze the ghost and god-themed animation 〈A Chinese Ghost Story〉. To understand the application of Chinese classical aesthetics in Chinese animation. It is suggested that Chinese classical aesthetic thought should be regarded as the creative factor of the future development direction of Chinese animation. Based on this, through the analysis of the three dimensions of “imagery” how to express in the animation〈A Chinese Ghost Story〉, to understand the world of imagery in Chinese classical aesthetics is a unique existence, it is different from the western rational system of cosmology, rendering the unity of nature and overlapping structure, i.e. it is not just a physical dimension entity dominant world, It is also a kind of presentation and demonstration of life consciousness, which conveys the transcendental (myth), perception and the feeling experience of infinite beauty with utterance and meaning. The image world has aesthetic and artistic characteristics, such as ambiguity and interaction, infinity and transcendence, virtual and reality, dynamic and dynamic, and poetic, which promote the generation of a world full of spirituality and infinite aesthetic possibilities. Under the vision of the “YiXiang world” of Chinese classical aesthetics, there is a harmonious and harmonious aesthetic relationship between aesthetic subject and object. The subject and object complement each other and jointly shape the ideal image world of beauty of The Chinese nation. The image world is the basis of the creation and existence of beauty, and beauty is generated and presents itself in the world. Based on this analysis, the representative of the Chinese director Tsui Hark’s animation〈A Chinese Ghost Story〉, through the work role, scenes, story, content, will be “imagery” in Chinese classical aesthetics and modern animation elements together, works successfully shaped a conforms to the contemporary aesthetic and full of traditional Chinese meaning of the image of the world, He also confirmed that he would play a creative role in future animated movies. It is hoped that the study of the mythological world of ghosts and gods in China, especially the critical study of the contradictions between social classes, can be a reference for the production of works in line with the aesthetic and cultural values of the Chinese nation.
