This paper is to survey and put in perspective the working methods of multi-target tracking in clutter. This paper includes theories and practices for data association and related filter structures and is motivated by increasing interest in the area of target tracking, security, surveillance, and multi-sensor data fusion. It is hoped that it will be useful in view of taking into consideration a full understanding of existing techniques before using them in practice.
적외선 영상 표적추적 성능 개선을 위한 적응적인 자동문턱치 산출 기법 연구

It is very critical for image processing of IIR (Imaging Infrared) seekers to achieve improved guidance performance for missile systems to determine appropriate thresholds in various environments. In this paper, we propose automatic threshold determination methods for proper thresholds to extract definite target signals in an EOCM (Electro-Optical Countermeasures) environment with low SNR (Signal-to-Noise Ratios). In particular, thresholds are found to be too low to extract target signals if one uses the Otsu method so that we suggest a Shifted Otsu method to solve this problem. Also we improve extracting target signal by changing Shifted Otsu thresholds according to the TBR (Target to Background Ratio). The suggested method is tested for real IIR images and the results are compared with the Otsu method. The HPDAF (Highest Probabilistic Data Association Filter) which selects the target originated measurements by taking into account of both signal intensity and statistical distance information is applied in this study.
양상태 소나를 운용하는 자함이 기동하는 구간에서 추적성능향상을 위한 다수모델기반의 자료결합기법 연구

For the target tracking in cluttered environment using a bistatic sonar whose transmitter and receiver are separately positioned, it is necessary to use data association algorithm via applying a proper measurement modelling to the bistatic sonar. The measurements obtained from the interval of ownship's maneuver have an increased error due to uncertainty of the position of transmitter and receiver. Using the measurements from this interval results in poor target tracking performance. In this paper, an improved tracking performance for the proposed data association based multiple model algorithm is validated by a monte carlo simulation. 송신기와 수신기가 분리되어 있는 양상태 소나를 자함에 설치하여 운용하고 다수의 클러터가 존재하는 환경에서 표적추적을 수행하기 위해서는 양상태 소나에 알맞은 측정치 모델링이 적용된 자료결합 알고리듬이 요구된다. 자함이 기동하는 구간에서는 송신기와 수신기의 위치가 많이 흔들림에 따라 측정치에 오차가 많이 커지게 되어, 이 구간에서 얻은 측정치정보를 이용하면 추적성능저하가 생기게 된다. 본 논문에서는 공정잡음이 다른 다수모델기반의 자료결합 알고리듬인 IMM-IPDA(Interacting Multiple Model-Integrated Probabilistic Data Association)를 사용하였고, 몬테칼로 시뮬레이션을 통해 추적성능향상을 확인하였다.

In this paper, a dynamical filter called the Highest Probability Data Association Filter(HPDAF) improved by adding target feature information is proposed for robust target detection and tracking in clutter. IIR contains 2-dimensional kinematic coordinate, intensity, and feature information. In data association of the HPDAF for track initiation, feature information is utilized in addition to coordinate and intensity information. The performance of the proposed HPDA algorithm is tested and compared with the conventional HPDAF algorithm for track initiation by a series of Monte Carlo simulation runs for a 3-dimensional missile-target engagement. scenario.

Target Motion Analysis(TMA) means to detect target position, velocity and course for using passive sonar system with bearing-only measurement. In this paper, we apply the TMA algorithm for a submarine with Multi-Sensor Data Fusion(MSDF) and we will decide the best TMA algorithm for a submarine by a series of computer simulation runs.
능동형 소나의 표적추적 및 트랙초기화를 위한 새로운 자료결합 기법 연구

In this paper, we propose new data association method called the Highest Probability Data Association(HPDA) using a Signal Amplitude information ordering method applied to active sonar tracking and track initiation in cluttered environment. The performance of HPDA is tested in a series of Monte Carlo simulations runs and is compared with the existing Probabilistic Data Association with Amplitude Information(PDA-AI) for active sonar tracking in clutter. The proposed HPDA algorithm is also applied to automatic track initiation in clutter and its performance is compared with the existing IPDA-AI algorithm.
