Vol.16 No.2

(Background and Purpose) A culture of consumption that values importance also requires an integrated approach to the brand. In particular, in modern society, a brand strategy is sensitive to trends, and shows a variety of patterns by country depending on the lifestyle and consumption habits of customers. This is a marketing strategy to show differentiation experience and brand identity, and efficiently showing the brand's storytelling spreads to various identity depending on the country and the distribution environment. The purpose of this study is to derive an effective way for the spatial storytelling to enhance the usefulness and competitiveness of marketing strategies when a brand extends globally. It is hoped that this study may be used as a guideline and a reference for the global identity of spatial design when brands enter the global market in the future. (Method) First, to study on strengthening global competitiveness, three spatial storytelling structures for the brand's global expansion were derived, and five elements of global acceptance required for the brand were studied. Second, by understanding the global diffusion of cosmetics, the scope of this study was determined and the basis for case study was established. Third, for the spatial design of brand storytelling, we present a framework model of six analyses that subdivided the marketing effects of storytelling and the structure formation in space into three components: object, temporal, and transitive. (Results) A brand space with strong competitiveness with a long tradition and history like Chanel shows various variations while expressing the strong unity and identity of the brand rather than directing an explanatory and learning storytelling. On the other hand, in the case of herbal medicine cosmetics and eco-friendly cosmetics brands, requiring to advertise their brands, they showed high learnability according to the luxury retail market and the premium market. In the case of eco-friendly cosmetics brands in the premium market, they showed good applicability by diffusing to various distribution environments with a tendency of high variability but a bit low unity and identity. (Conclusions) Uniformity is a very important strategy for cosmetics brands, but it can be seen that uniformity and volatility are very important factors for global expansion as they sometimes show various changes depending on the brand's properties and distribution environment. It is important for new brands to show the learning effect through storytelling in order to increase their differentiation. K-beauty is a craze and shows step-by-step learning effects to consumers at a time when global spread is important, and it can be seen that showing the brand's properties efficiently is very important for the brand's expansion strategy. It is expected that it will be used as a reference for global expansion of brands in the future.

      • Post-assembly modification of polymeric composite membranes using spin drying for fuel cell applications

Lee, Kyung Ah,Yoon, Ki Ro,Kwon, Sung Hyun,Lee, Kyung Jin,Jo, Sunhee,Lee, Ju Sung,Lee, Kwan-Young,Lee, Seung Woo,Lee, Seung Geol,Kim, Jin Young The Royal Society of Chemistry 2019 Journal of materials chemistry. A, Materials for e Vol.7 No.13

<P>Self-assembly of inter- and intraphases between the ionomer membrane and mechanical reinforcements in reinforced polymeric composite membranes is of great interest in both physics and chemistry, particularly for proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) application. One of the greatest challenges is to obtain an optimally structured polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)-reinforced perfluorosulfonic acid (PFSA) composite membrane <I>via</I> solution processing. For high- performance and durable PEMFC applications, the self-assembly of interphases of the ionomers/reinforcements and intraphases of the ionomers in the composite PEM needs to be carefully tailored. Here, we show that post-assembly modification of a PTFE/PFSA composite membrane using a spin-drying method can significantly improve fuel cell performance and reliability. The forced assembly of PFSA ionomers during spinning results in greater infiltration yields into the porous PTFE media. In this way, spin-drying post-treatment results in lower gas crossover and improved mechanical durability. This process also yields larger regions of ionic clusters, which facilitate proton conduction at low relative humidity, affording higher fuel cell currents and greater efficiency.</P>

        Lee, Sanghun,Choi, Gwang-Ho,Lee, Chang Hoon,Kim, Yu Kyoung,Lee, Saebhom,Cho, Sungjin,Yeon, Sunhee,Choi, Sun-Mi,Ryu, Yeon-Hee Hindawi Publishing Corporation 2012 Evidence-based Complementary and Alternative Medic Vol.2012 No.-

<P><I>Background</I>. Electro Acupuncture (EA) uses the acupuncture needle as an electrode to apply low-frequency stimulation. For its safe operation, it is essential to prevent any corrosion of the acupuncture needle. <I>Objective</I>. The aim of this study is to find an available material and determine the possibility of producing a standard EA needle that is biocompatible. <I>Methods</I>. Biocompatibility was tested by an MTT assay and cytotoxicity testing. Corrosion was observed with a scanning electron microscope (SEM) after 0.5 mA, 60 min stimulation. The straightness was measured using a gap length of 100 mm, and tensile testing was performed by imposing a maximum tensile load. <I>Results</I>. Phosphor bronze, Ni coated SS304, were deemed inappropriate materials because of mild-to-moderate cytotoxicity and corrosion. Ti-6Al-4V and SS316 showed no cytotoxicity or corrosion. Ti-6Al-4V has a 70 times higher cost and 2.5 times lower conductivity than SS316. The results of both straightness and tensile testing confirmed that SS316 can be manufactured as a standard product. <I>Conclusion</I>. As a result, we confirmed that SS316 can be used a new EA electrode material. We hope that a further study of the maximum capacity of low-frequency stimulation using an SS316 for safe operation.</P>

Factors Affecting Customer Satisfaction with Pharmacy Franchises

( Sunhee Lee ),( Sharon Smith ),( Eunjung Kim ) 서암순창장학회 2014 Journal of Marketing Thought Vol.1 No.3

This study seeks to identify key factors affecting the development of pharmacy franchises by analyzing consumption behavior and the impact of consumers on pharmacy franchise management. It also aims to determine key factors affecting customer satisfaction and loyalty toward pharmacy franchises. Independent research variables included store image, pharmacy service, and pharmacist specialty. Customer loyalty was adopted as a dependent variable, and customer satisfaction was a mediating variable. The results indicate that pharmacy service is an important factor related to customer satisfaction, followed by pharmacist specialty. Contrary to expectations, the image of store cleanness was unrelated to customer satisfaction. Such findings indicate that consumers perceive drugstores as unique spaces, as opposed to health and beauty stores.

      • Altered expression of microRNA miR‐21, miR‐155, and let‐7a and their roles in pulmonary neuroendocrine tumors

        Lee, Hyoun Wook,Lee, Eun Hee,Ha, Seung Yeon,Lee, Chang Hun,Chang, Hee Kyung,Chang, Sunhee,Kwon, Kun Young,Hwang, Il Seon,Roh, Mee Sook,Seo, Jeong Wook Blackwell Publishing Asia 2012 Pathology international Vol.62 No.9

<P>MicroRNA (miRNA) has a critical effect on tumorigenesis through post‐transcriptional modification and is considered to be potential biomarkers for cancer diagnosis and treatment monitoring. We evaluated the expression pattern of three selected miRNAs (miR‐21, miR‐155, and let‐7a) to evaluate their potential roles by quantitative reverse transcription‐polymerase chain reaction using formalin‐fixed and paraffin‐embedded tissues of 63 surgically resected pulmonary neuroendocrine (NE) tumors (19 typical carcinoids (TCs), 6 atypical carcinoids (ACs), 19 large cell NE carcinomas (LCNECs), and 19 small cell lung carcinomas (SCLCs). Control amplification for U6 small nuclear RNA (U6) was performed in all samples. Normalized Ct values were calculated (CtExperimental miRNA‐CtU6) for each case and recorded. The expression levels of miR‐21 and miR‐155 were significantly higher in high‐grade NE carcinomas (LCNECs and SCLCs) than in carcinoid tumors (TCs and ACs) (each <I>P</I> < 0.001). The expression level of miR‐21 in carcinoid tumors with lymph node metastasis was significantly higher than in carcinoid tumors without lymph node metastasis (<I>P</I>= 0.010). To the best of our knowledge, the present study is the first to examine the expression patterns of miR‐21 and miR‐155 as an adjunctive diagnostic tool or clinically relevant biomarkers for pulmonary NE tumors.</P>

      • Porcine testicular extract inhibits T cell proliferation by blocking cell cycle transition from G??? phase to S phase.

        Lee, Han-Hyoung,Lee, Suk Jun,Kim, Sunhee,Jeong, Seonah,Na, Manheum,Lee, Dong-Mok,Cheon, Yong-Pil,Lee, Ki Ho,Choi, Inho,Chun, Taehoon Kluwer Academic Publishers 2012 Biotechnology letters. Vol.34 No.7

<P>Since T cells express diverse sex steroid hormone receptors, they might be a good model to evaluate the effects of sex steroid hormones on immune modulation. Porcine testicular extract contains several sex steroid hormones and may be useful to study the effects of sex steroid hormones during T cell activation. We have examined the effects of the porcine testicular extract on T cell activation: proliferation and secretion of cytokines (IL-2 and IFN-관) by activated T cells were severely decreased after treatment with porcine testicular extract. The extract produced an immunosuppressive effect and inhibited the proliferation of activated T cells by blocking the cell cycle transition from the G(1) phase to S phase. These effects were mediated by a decrease in the expression of cyclin D1 and cyclin E and constitutive expression of p27(KIP1) after T cell activation.</P>

Isolation and Characterization of Listeria phages for Control of Growth of Listeria monocytogenes in Milk

        Sunhee Lee,Min Gon Kim,Hee Soo Lee,Sunhak Heo,Mirae Kwon,Geun- Bae Kim 한국축산식품학회 2017 한국축산식품학회지 Vol.37 No.2

In this study, two Listeria bacteriophages, LMP1 and LMP7, were isolated from chicken feces as a means of biocontrol of L. monocytogenes. Both bacteriophages had a lytic effect on L. monocytogenes ATCC 7644, 15313, 19114, and 19115. Phages LMP1 and LMP7 were able to inhibit the growth of L. monocytogenes ATCC 7644 and 19114 in tryptic soy broth at 10℃ and 30℃. Nevertheless, LMP1 was more effective than LMP7 at inhibiting L. monocytogenes ATCC 19114. On the contrary, LMP7 was more effective than LMP1 at inhibiting L. monocytogenes ATCC 7644. The morphology of LMP1 and LMP7 resembled that of members of the Siphoviridae family. The growth of L. monocytogenes ATCC 7644 was inhibited by both LMP1 and LMP7 in milk; however, the growth of L. monocytogenes ATCC 19114 was only inhibited by LMP1 at 30℃. The lytic activity of bacteriophages was also evaluated at 4℃ in milk in order to investigate the potential use of these phages in refrigerated products. In conclusion, these two bacteriophages exhibit different host specificities and characteristics, suggesting that they can be used as a component of a phage cocktail to control L. monocytogenes in the food industry.
