Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the use of novel nanocarrier (Hyaluronic acid-Rebamipide micelles) as a treatment of preterm birth in a mouse model of inflammation-associated preterm birth. Methods: On embryonic day 15 of gestation, lipopolysaccharide (LPS were used to create mouse models of inflammation-associated preterm birth. After intraperitoneal injection of LPS, dams were randomized to oral administration of nanocarrier (LPS-nanocarrier group) or normal saline (LPS-NS group). The rate of preterm birth (delivery within 24 hours after administration) and the serum inflammatory markers were measured. Results: The rate of preterm birth was lower in LPS-nanocarrier group compared with LPS-NS group (0% vs 100%, respectively). The serum level of inflammatory markers (TNF-, IL-1ra, IL-6, IL-10, IL-16, IL-17 and IL-27) were lower in LPS-nanocarrier group compared with LPS-NS group. Conclusion: Our results demonstrate that nanocarrier, hyaluronic acid-Rebamipide micelles, may serve as a potential therapeutic agent to prevent preterm delivery by inflammation.
A case of multinucleate cell angiohistiocytoma
( Joon Min Jung ),( Ye Jin Lee ),( Chong Hyun Won ),( Sung Eun Chang ),( Mi Woo Lee ),( Jee Ho Choi ),( Kee Chan Moon ) 대한피부과학회 2015 대한피부과학회 학술발표대회집 Vol.67 No.1
A 44-year-old woman presented with asymptomatic, multiple, variable sized (3 mm to 13 mm, in diameter) brownish macule on the posterior side of right thigh and she had never been treated before. The number and the size of the lesion had not been changed much from that had first appeared 6 month before visiting our clinic. Physical examination revealed no underlying mass or nodule around the lesion and no other similar skin lesion at other site of the body. She had no previous medical history. Though the first assessment of the clinician was scar with postinflammatory hyperpigmentation, as she had no previous traumatic episodes at that site, skin biopsy was performed. There were scattered giant cells demonstrating bizarre or scalloped outlines which were positive for factor XIIIa and vimentin. There were also a proliferation of small blood vessels and a sparse inflammatory infiltrate in the interstitium. The histopathologic features were consistent with multinucleate cell angiohistiocytoma. Although the patient was recommended to get a complete excisional biopsy, she refused any further treatment.

Purpose: To evaluate the effect of common three photon energies (6-MV, 10-MV, and 15-MV) on intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) plans to treat prostate cancer patients. Materials and Methods: Twenty patients with prostate cancer treated locally to 81.0 Gy were retrospectively studied. 6-MV, 10-MV, and 15-MV IMRT plans for each patient were generated using suitable planning objectives, dose constraints, and 8-field setting. The plans were analyzed in terms of dose-volume histogram for the target coverage, dose conformity, organs at risk (OAR) sparing, and normal tissue integral dose. Results: Regardless of the energies chosen at the plans, the target coverage, conformity, and homogeneity of the plans were similar. However, there was a significant dose increase in rectal wall and femoral heads for 6-MV compared to those for 10-MV and 15-MV. The $V_{20Gy}$ of rectal wall with 6-MV, 10-MV, and 15-MV were 95.6%, 88.4%, and 89.4% while the mean dose to femoral heads were 31.7, 25.9, and 26.3 Gy, respectively. Integral doses to the normal tissues in higher energy (10-MV and 15-MV) plans were reduced by about 7%. Overall, integral doses in mid and low dose regions in 6-MV plans were increased by up to 13%. Conclusion: In this study, 10-MV prostate IMRT plans showed better OAR sparing and less integral doses than the 6-MV. The biological and clinical significance of this finding remains to be determined afterward, considering neutron dose contribution.
