Lavandula vera is indispensable member of the herb family, used for perfumes and potpourri. Androgens have profound effects on the physiology of the sebaceous gland. Sebum is secreted due to the effect of androgen, which starts to be secreted at puberty. Using the human sebocyte cell line SZ95, the author investigated the inhibitory effect of Lavandula vera on the lipid production. Light microscopic finding were examined numerous cytoplasmic lipid droplets SZ95 cells by Oil red staining and lipid droplets were increased markedly by testosterone. On the other hand, combined treatment with Lavandula vera and testosterone resulted in a lower lipid droplets than with testosterone alone in a dose-dependent manner. These findings indicate that Lavandula vera acts antagonistically to testosterone and inhibits the lipid synthesis of SZ95 cells at the cellular level.

In this study, the feasibility of the durometer into super retarding concrete was studied by comparing the penetration resistance with the hardness of each durometer using the penetration resistance and the improved Durometer and Durometer A-Type according to the ultra-delay mixture rate. The test results showed that initial setting time by improved Durometer and Durometer A-Type were fixed at 25, 50 HD, respectively, and the 35, 80 HD showed at final setting time. It was also found that the use of the durometer can be available to measure the setting time of the concrete.

Purpose : The purpose of this study is to evaluate the accuracy of differentiation between benign andmalignant clustered microcalcifications without mass on mammogram. Material and Methodes : Fourty six mammogramsof 44 patients showing clustered microcalcifications without mass were interpreted blindly by five independentobservers majoring in breast imaging from different institutions. Twenty two were malignant (10 infiltratingductal carcinomas, 12 intraductal carcinomas) and 24 were benign (all fibrocystic disease). The observers judgebenignancy or malignancy of microcalcifications. The authors assess the accuracy of differential diagnosis ofclustered microcalcifications. Result : Of 24 cases proved benign microcalcifications, five radiologists correctlyinterpreted 20 on average as benign and of malignant 22 cases, 16 on average were correctly interpreted asmalignant. The diagnostic accuracy of malignant microcalcifications was 71.8% on average(63.6%~81.8%) and thediagnostic accuracy for benign microcalcifications was 83% on average(71%~ 92%). It was 9 among total 46 casesthat were misinterpreted by more than three radiologists. Among these 9 cases, malignant microcalcifications thathad been misinterpreted as benign were seven, benign microcalcifications misinterpreted as malignant were two.Conclusion : The diagnostic accuracy of clustered malignant microcalcifications(71.8%) without mass on mammogramwas lower than that of benign microcalcifications(83.3%). So, in case of suspected malignant microcalcification onmammogram, it is preferable that along with magnification view, histopathologic confirmation by core biopsy mustbe obtained.

<P> Angiotensin II (ANG II) has a biphasic effect on Na<SUP></SUP> transport in proximal tubule: low doses of ANG II increase the Na<SUP></SUP> transport, whereas high doses of ANG II inhibit it. However, the mechanisms of high dose ANG II-induced inhibition on Na<SUP></SUP> uptake are poorly understood. Thus the aim of the present study was to investigate signal transduction pathways involved in the ANG II-induced inhibition of Na<SUP></SUP> uptake in the primary cultured rabbit renal proximal tubule cells (PTCs) in hormonally defined serum-free medium. ANG II (10<SUP>9</SUP> M)-induced inhibition of Na<SUP></SUP> uptake was blocked by losartan (10<SUP>8</SUP> M, AT<SUB>1</SUB> antagonist), but not by PD123319 (10<SUP>8</SUP> M, AT<SUB>2</SUB> antagonist) (P<0.05). ANG II-induced inhibition of Na<SUP></SUP> uptake was also completely abolished by neomycin (10<SUP>4</SUP> M, PLC inhibitor), W-7 (10<SUP>4</SUP> M, calmodulin antagonist), and AACOCF<SUB>3</SUB> (10<SUP>6</SUP> M, PLA<SUB>2</SUB> inhibitor) (P<0.05). ANG II significantly increased [<SUP>3</SUP>H]arachidonic acid (AA) release compared to control. The ANG II-induced [<SUP>3</SUP>H]AA release was blocked by losartan, AACOCF<SUB>3</SUB>, neomycin, and W-7, but not by PD123319. ANG II-induced [<SUP>3</SUP>H]AA release in the presence of extracellular Ca<SUP>2</SUP> was greater than in Ca<SUP>2</SUP>-free medium, and it was partially blocked by TMB-8 (10<SUP>4</SUP> M, intracelluar Ca<SUP>2</SUP> mobilization blocker). However, in the absence of extracellular Ca<SUP>2</SUP>, it was completely blocked by TMB-8. In addition, econazole (10<SUP>6</SUP> M, cytochrome P-450 monooxygenase inhibitor) and indomethacin (10<SUP>6</SUP> M, cyclooxygenase inhibitor) blocked ANG II-induced inhibition of Na<SUP></SUP> uptake, but NGDA (10<SUP>6</SUP> M, lipoxygenase inhibitor) did not affect it. In conclusion, PLA<SUB>2</SUB>-mediated AA release is involved in ANG II-induced inhibition of Na<SUP></SUP> uptake and is modulated by [Ca<SUP>2</SUP>]<SUB>i</SUB> in the PTCs.

이 연구는 styrene을 모노머로 Benzoyl peroxid(BPO)를 개시제로 tricalcium phosphate(TCP)를 계면활성제로 polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)을 서스펜션 안정제로 사용한 비드중합에 대한 것이다. 실험 결과 얻어진 polystyrene(PS)의 직경을 0.01∼1 mm정도였다. Gel Permeation Chromatography(GPC)로 측정한 PS의 분자량 Mn 15,000∼25,000, Mw 30,000∼50,000로 다중분산지수(PD)1.6∼4.5 정도를 나타냈다. BPO의 양이 많아지면 입자 크기가 커지는 경향을 나타냈고 TCP의 양이 많아지면 입자 크기가 작아지는 것을 볼 수 있었다. 비드 생성에 적당한 물과 스틸렌의 비율은 4:1이었다. 비드 입자 크기의 경우 단량체의 비율, 비드의 안정제의 양, 고속분산기의 rpm 정도에 따라 영향을 받는 겻임을 발견하였다. 이 실험에서는 개시제의 양과 비드의 크기와 첨가제의 관계 그리고 시간에 따른 중합과 다중분산지수(PD)와의 관계에 대해 알아보고자 연구 검토하였다.
