        Evolution of Automatic Ordering System in Retail Market : Analyzing Inventory Data

        The purpose of this paper is to reveal two problems in the existing inventory systems in retail market, and to suggest a Two-Bin System under Automatic Ordering System considering only base-stock. Large retailers already have a sophisticated inventory system based on an automatic ordering principle. However, why does the out-of-stock (OOS) happen in large discount stores in spite of having a good inventory system? This paper suggests two systems after finding the root causes concerning the previous question. For evaluating the performance of each system, the random 200 data set in each sample group was generated from MINITAB 16 and obeyed the Poisson distribution. The existing inventory system in retail market cannot help generating OOS due to indwelling contradiction in itself. The reasons are the ordering deadline and the relationship between ordering quantity and base stock. This paper also demonstrates that these previous studies on inventory fall into the closed loop. Also the paper shows that the performance of the replenishment policy was better than traditional methods dealing with ordering quantity and base stock.

        중국 중소도시의 유통업체 사례 연구

        China is one of the most attractive markets in the world, and many international retailers such as Wal-Mart(1996) have already entered into the Chinese market. Although many international retailers have entered into China, many of the local cities currently have no competitive retailers. The market size of a local city is relatively small, however the combined market size of local cities is extremely large. So many companies to seek a new market in China have emphasized the importance of local cities. However, each researcher has defined the size of local cities according to theirs subjective criteria, and the resulted problem is that the mixed and incorrect information is re-excerpted. This paper searches the administrative districts in China and reveals the huge untapped retail market in China. Besides, this work researches the present state and problems of retail industry in Chinese market, introduces the circumstances of four retailers in Yanji-city, and extracts customers perception about retailers from a survey of a hundred customers in Yanji-city in China. With the questionnaire, this paper suggests the appropriate retailers model(Net-mart) which is for the small market of local city.

        Inventory Management has become a very important issue in supply chain management, because inventories may be used as a means to accomplish the certain strategic goals in company decisions. RFID(radio frequency identification) technology is used to help manage inventories. It is known that the ideal control of inventories is to replenish item by item. This paper points out several misinterpretations from the Wal-mart report presented in '07 Seoul Forum and suggests the new direction of RFID application. In this paper we consider RFID as not 'identification technology' but 'information technology.' The 'RF-Kanban' suggested here is adopted from the 'Kanban'concept of TPS(Toyota Production System). The RF-Kanban system shows the easier control for replenishing various items in boxes. Lots of inventories can be reduced through RF-Kanban System. This work develops the protocol of RF-Kanban and introduces the case study for easier understanding.

        Identification of Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms as Biomarkers for Recurrent Pregnancy Loss in Korean Women

        Background: Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) are reportedly associated with repeated abortion. Thus, genetic analysis based on race is the key to developing accurate diagnostic tests. This study analyzed the genetic polymorphisms of recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) patients among Korean women compared to the controls. Methods: In 53 women of RPL group and 50 controls, the genetic analysis was performed. The genotype distribution and allele frequency were analyzed statistically for the difference between the two groups. The association between each SNP marker and RPL risk was analyzed. Results: The genotypes of LEPR, endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS), KDR, miR27a, miR-449b, and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) were analyzed using odds ratio (OR) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Only the AG genotype of miR-449b (A>G) polymorphism showed significant association with the risk of RPL when compared to the AA genotype (OR, 2.39). The combination of GG/AG+GG/CA+AA genotypes for eNOS/ miR-449b/TNF-α was associated with 7.36-fold higher risk of RPL (OR, 7.36). The GG/ AG+GG combination for eNOS/miR-449b showed 2.43-fold higher risk for RPL (OR, 2.43). The combination of AG+GG/CA+AA genotypes for miR-449b/TNF-α showed a significant association with the risk of RPL (OR, 7.60). From the haplotype-based analysis, the G-G-A haplotype of eNOS/miR-449b/TNF-α and the G-A haplotype of miR-449b/TNF-α were associated with increased risk of RPL (OR, 19.31; OR, 22.08, respectively). Conclusion: There is a significant association between the risk of RPL and miR-449b/TNF-α combination, and therefore, genetic analysis for specific combined genotypes can be an important screening method for RPL in Korean women.
