        This article writes on the mission of God from Abraham to nations: focusing on the protoevangelium and Genesis 12:1-3. This attempt is based on the assertion that the Old Testament is a book of missions. The Old Testament does not ignore or take lightly of the call of missions given to people all over the world. In Genesis, the first book of the Bible, the activities of four patriarchs-Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph are well recorded. God, the primary subject of mission, selected them as missionaries. Protoevangelium(Genesis 3:15) is consummated through Abraham`s obedience and belief, blessing of nations and his also descendent. This paper concentrates on the mission of God given to Abraham. Abraham was born as a son of Terah, a descendent of Shem (Gen. 11:27). God gave him a vision that his name would be great, he would make into a great nation, and be a blessing, and in the missionary field, God gave him the same vision repeatedly (Gen. 12:1-3). God selected Abraham and four great patriarchs and dispatched them to foreign soils as missionaries, watched over them, and blessed them so that they could witness God naturally through their life in their everyday environments. God sent them to foreign nations in different ways so they could do centrifugal mission instead of centripetal mission. This mission method is considered to be one of the most effective method of mission in this current period.

      • Identification of the full 26 cytochrome P450 (<i>CYP</i>) genes and analysis of their expression in response to benzo[α]pyrene in the marine rotifer <i>Brachionus rotundiformis</i>

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Cytochrome P450s (CYPs) are a large gene superfamily that are found in all living organisms. CYPs have a key role in detoxification of xenobiotics and endogenous chemicals. Although aquatic invertebrate CYPs and their detoxification mechanisms have been reported, little is known about interspecific comparison of CYPs and their detoxification mechanism in the rotifer <I>Brachionus</I> spp. The aim of this study was to identify the entire <I>CYP</I>s in the rotifer <I>Brachionus rotundiformis</I> (<I>B</I>. <I>rotundiformis</I>) and compare <I>B</I>. <I>rotundiformis</I>-CYPs to the previously reported CYPs in other model <I>Brachionus</I> spp. (<I>B. koreanus</I>, <I>B. plicatilis</I>, and <I>B. calyciflorus</I>). To validate the model, the rotifer, specifically <I>Brachionus rotundiformis</I> was exposed to various concentrations of B[α]P, which is widely used PAH xenobiotic, and analyzed gene expression in response to B[α]P. Here, in silico analysis results showed the total of 26 <I>CYP</I>s from the rotifer <I>B. rotundiformis</I>. Based on the phylogenetic analysis, the 26 <I>B</I>. <I>rotundiformis</I>-CYPs were separated into five different clans: 2, 3, 4, mitochondrial, and 46 clans in comparison to three rotifers species, <I>B. koreanus</I>, <I>B. plicatilis</I>, and <I>B. calyciflorus</I>. To understand the detoxification mechanisms of 26 <I>B</I>. <I>rotundiformis</I>-CYPs, we investigated transcriptional expression of 26 <I>CYP</I>s and found that five <I>CYP</I>s (<I>CYP3045A2</I>, <I>CYP3045B4</I>, <I>CYP3045C10</I>, <I>CYP3049A5</I>, and <I>CYP3049E8</I>) were significantly increased (<I>P</I> < 0.05) in response to 10 and 100 μg B[α]P. In addition, we identified the aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) and aryl hydrocarbon receptor nuclear translocator (ARNT) and observed slight up-regulation of <I>B</I>. <I>rotundiformis</I>-<I>AhR</I> and -<I>ARNT</I>, indicating that these CYPs are likely associated with detoxification mechanism and could be used as potential molecular biomarkers of B[α]P in <I>B. rotundiformis</I>. Overall, this study will be helpful for expanding our knowledge of invertebrate CYPs on detoxification mechanisms associated with AhR signaling pathway in rotifers.</P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

        Clinical Significance of the Pattern of Lymph Node Metastasis Depending on the Location of Gastric Cancer

        Purpose: When performing a laparoscopic assisted gastrectomy, a function-preserving gastrectomy is performed depending on the location of the primary gastric cancer. This study examined the incidence of lymph node metastasis by the lymph node station number by tumor location to determine the optimal extent of the lymph node dissection. Materials and Methods: The subjects consisted of 1,510 patients diagnosed with gastric cancer who underwent a gastrectomy between 1996 and 2005. The patients were divided into three groups: upper, middle and lower third, depending on the location of the primary tumor. The lymph node metastasis patterns were analyzed in the total and early gastric cancer patients. Results: In all patients, lymph node station numbers 1, 2, 3, 7, 10 and 11 metastases were dominant in the cancer originating in the upper third, whereas station numbers 4, 5, 6 and 8 were dominant in the lower third. In early gastric cancer patients, the station number of lymph nodes with a metastasis did not show a significant difference in stage pT1a disease. On the other hand, a metastasis in lymph node station number 6 was dominant in stage pT1b disease that originated in the lower third of the stomach. Conclusions: When performing a laparoscopic-assisted gastrectomy for early gastric cancer, a limited lymphadenectomy is considered adequate during a function-preserving gastrectomy in mucosal (T1a) cancer. On the other hand, for submucosal (T1b) cancer, a number 6 node dissection should be performed when performing a pylorus preserving gastrectomy.

      • The genome of the marine monogonont rotifer <i>Brachionus plicatilis</i>: Genome-wide expression profiles of 28 cytochrome P450 genes in response to chlorpyrifos and 2-ethyl-phenanthrene

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P> <I>Brachionus</I> spp. (Rotifera: Monogononta) are globally distributed in aquatic environments and play important roles in the aquatic ecosystem. The marine monogonont rotifer <I>Brachionus plicatilis</I> is considered a suitable model organism for ecology, evolution, and ecotoxicology. In this study, we assembled and characterized the <I>B. plicatilis</I> genome. The total length of the assembled genome was 106.9 Mb and the number of final scaffolds was 716 with an N50 value of 1.15 Mb and a GC content of 26.75%. A total of 20,154 genes were annotated after manual curation. To demonstrate the use of whole genome data, we targeted one of the main detoxifying enzyme of phase I detoxification system and identified in a total of 28 cytochrome P450 s (CYPs). Based on the phylogenetic analysis using the maximum likelihood, 28 <I>B. plicatilis</I>-CYPs were apparently separated into five different clans, namely, 2, 3, 4, mitochondrial (MT), and 46 clans. To better understand the CYPs-mediated xenobiotic detoxification, we measured the mRNA expression levels of 28 <I>B. plicatilis CYP</I>s in response to chlorpyrifos and 2-ethyl-phenanthrene. Most <I>B. plicatilis CYP</I>s were significantly modulated (<I>P</I> < 0.05) in response to chlorpyrifos and 2-ethyl-phenanthrene. In addition, xenobiotic-sensing nuclear receptor (XNR) response element sequences were identified in the 5 kb upstream of promoter regions of 28 <I>CYP</I>s from the genome of <I>B. plicatilis</I>, indicating that these XNR can be associated with detoxification of xenobiotics.         Identification of the Full 46 Cytochrome P450 (<i>CYP</i>) Complement and Modulation of <i>CYP</i> Expression in Response to Water-Accommodated Fractions of Crude Oil in the Cyclopoid Copepod <i>Paracyclopina nana</i>

        <P>The 46 cytochrome P450 (CYP) gene superfamily was identified in the marine copepod Paracyclopina nana after searching an RNA-seq database and comparing it with other copepod CYP gene families. To annotate the 46 Pn-CYP genes, a phylogenetic analysis of CYP genes was performed using a Bayesian method. Pn-CYP genes were separated into five different clans: CYP2, CYP3, CYP20, CYP26, and mitochondrial. Among these, the principal Pn-CYP genes involved in detoxification were identified by comparing them with those of the copepod Tigriopus japonicus and were examined with respect to their responses to exposure to a water-accommodated fraction (WAF) of crude oil and to the alkylated forms of two polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs; phenanthrene and fluorene). The expression of two Pn-CYP3027 genes (CYP3027F1 and CYP3027F2) was increased in response to WAF exposure and also was upregulated in response to the two alkylated PAHs. In particular, Pn-CYP3027F2 showed the most notable increase in response to 80% WAF exposure. These two responsive CYP genes (Pn-CYP3027F1 and CYP3027F2) were also phylogenetically clustered into the same clade of the WAF- and alkylated PAH-specific CYP genes of the copepod T. japonicus, suggesting that these CYP genes would be those chiefly involved in detoxification in response to WAF exposure in copepods. In this paper, we provide information on the copepod P. nana CYP gene superfamily and also speculate on its potential role in the detoxification of PAHs in marine copepods. Despite the nonlethality of WAF, Pn-CYP3027F2 was rapidly and significantly upregulated in response to WAF that may serve as a useful biomarker of 40% or higher concentration of WAF exposure. This paper will be helpful to better understand the molecular mechanistic events underlying the metabolism of environmental toxicants in copepods.</P>

        본 논문에서는 최근 FTTH 구현을 위한 국내 상황에 가장 현실성 있는 기술로 대두되고 있는 EPON 시스템의 구조와 기능에 대하여 분석하였고, EPON 장비의 설계와 구현을 하였다. 기능과 성능 측정을 위한 테스트베드를 구축 하였고, OLT와 ONT 간의 Packets의 전송기능과 그 역기능에 대하여 시물레이션을 실시하였다. 테스트 장비로 OLT 1대와 ONT 2대 및 RN 1대를 사용 하였고, Packets & Protocol Analyzer를 신호 입력 및 테스트 결과 확인용 계측기로 사용 하였다. 각각의 ONT에 LLID를 부여하고 SBA 및 DBA 방식을 적용하여 대역 할당을 하였다. 그 결과 동일한 환경에서 SBA 방식 보다 DBA 방식이 회선을 공유함으로써 전송효율이 뛰어난 것으로 확인 되었다. 현재 가입자 당 1Gbps의 처리가 가능한 ONT 개발이 진행 중이며, 조속히 완료되어 가입자 당 1Gbps의 대역의 제공이 가능해 진다면, DBA 방식의 대역할당 기법을 보다 효율적으로 활용할 수 있으며, 가입자에게 원활한 TPS(Triple Play Service) 서비스의 제공이 가능하게 될 것으로 사료된다.
