This paper review the emprical research on forecasting in marketing.We offer a framework for discussing forecasts in the area of marketing, and then review the literatare in light of that framework.Particular emphasis is given to pragmatic interpretation of the literature and finding.We hope to (1) summarize the more important empirical research that relates to the choice and application of forecasting methods in marketing, (2) show how the research from this special issue links with the existing research on the forecasting and (3) provide an agenda for furture research. The paper is organized to Provide a framework for forcasting and then to examine research contributions within that framework. Exhibit 1.A Framework for Forecasts in Marketing. This paper is centered around what forecasts are needs.These needs are listed as A Framework for Forecasts in Marketing.(page 4) Significant gains have been made in forecasting for marketing in the past quarter century.Advances have occurred in the development of qualitative methods such as delphi, role playing, intentions and opinion surveys and bootstrapping.They have also occurred for quantitative methods suchas extrapolation and econometrics.The challenge now is to build up experience in applying these methods so generalizations can be made about which methods are most appropriate in the different areas where forecast are needs in marketing.The evidence and research needs discussed in this paper are now summarized.

However, there have been no guidelines for performing and interpreting VEPs in Korea. Therefore, we aimed to provide comprehensive information regarding basic requirement and interpretation for VEPs.

Evoked potentials (EPs) measures the electrophysiologic responses of the nervous system to variety of stimuli. In clinical practice, only a few are used on a routine basis. Because of the small amplitude of EPs recorded by noninvasive methods, computer summation or averaging generally is necessary to resolve them from background noise. Therefore, waveform acquisition under good condition according to standard method is important. We aimed to provide the standards for clinical EP equipment, technical consideration and minimal requirements for obtaining good clinical EP waveforms, and general criteria for writing EP reports in practice as Korean guidelines.

&-catenin was first considered as a brain spedfic protein, strong evidence of&-catenin overexpression in various cancers, including prostate cancer, has been accumulated. Phosphorylation of a-catenin by Akt and GSK313 has been studied in various cell lines. However, tyrosine phosphorylation of &-catenin in prostate cancer cells remains unknown. In the current study, we demonstrated that Src kinase itself phosphorylates &-catenin on its tyrosine residues in prostate cancer cells and further illustrated that Yl073, Yll12 and Yl176 of &-catenin are predominant sites responsible for tyrosine phosphorylation mediated by c-Src. Apart from c-Src, other Src family kinases, including Fgr, Fyn and Lyn, can also phosphorylate a-catenin. We also found that c-Src-mediated Tyr-phosphorylation of &-catenin increases its stability via decreasing its affinity to GSK313 and enhances its ability of indudng nuclear distribution of j3-catenin through interrupting the integrity of the E-cadherin. Taken together, these results indicate that c-Src can enhance the oncogenic function of&-catenin in prostate cancer cells. ⓒ 2013 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Some cases of myasthenia gravis (MG) with abnormal spontaneous activity (ASA) in needle electromyography (EMG) have been reported, but the associated clinical characteristics remain to be fully elucidated. We report the case of a 36-year-old male with MG in whom ASA was observed. This study highlights that ASA may appear in needle EMG in patients with severe MG who predominantly have bulbar and/or respiratory involvement. Care is needed because this often accompanies myopathic features and can be misdiagnosed as myopathy.
