      • Technical Aspects of Modern Translation and Interpretation

        본 논문은 첨단지식정보를 이용한 번역 및 통역기술에 대한 연구로서 먼저 의미역과 형태역을 고찰 분석하고 그 실례를 제시하였다. 이어서 형태역의 대표인 성성영어를 언급하고 통역 및 기계번역도 언급하였다. 그리고 현대 첨단지식이나 기계의 도움을 받아도 번역이 불가능한 분야도 다루어 보았다. 결론에서는 효과적인 번역을 하기 위한 방안으로 언어학과 주변 학문의 응용을 확대, 심화하는 길을 모색했다. .

      • 알루미늄 표면불량 검사를 위한 영상처리알고리즘 응용에 관한 연구

        본 연구에서는 알루미늄의 압연 과정에서 발생하는 알루미늄 판재 표면불량을 검출하는 영상처리 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 표면불량의 정상적인 면의 영상과 흠집 영상의 화소 밝기 차이를 이용하여 불량 부분의 경계 부분을 검출하기 위해 다양한 필터를 사용하였다. 먼저 미디언 필터를 이용하여 영상 내의 잡음을 제거하고, 불량의 경계 부분을 강조하기 위하여 Sharpening 필터를 적용하였다. 그리고 Canny 알고리즘을 이용하여 불량 부분의 경계 점들을 검출하였다. 최종적으로 검출된 경계 부분을 포함하는 사각형의 두 좌표를 찾아 원 영상으로부터 불량에 해당하는 영상을 다시 구성하였다. 알루미늄 압연 판재의 서로 다른 표면불량 샘플 4종을 대상으로 제안한 알고리즘을 적용한 결과, 만족할 만한 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. This study is on the application the image processing algorithm for inspection of the aluminium mill strip surface defect. The image of surface defect data was obtained using the CCD camera with the digital signal processing board. The edge was found from the difference of pixel intensity between the normal image and the defect image. Two steps were taken to find the edge in the image processing algorithm. Frist, noise was removed by using the median filter in the image. Canny Algorithm was used to defect the exact edge. The defect image section was separated from the original image is to find the coordination point p1 and p2 which include the defect image. Experiments showed that this algorithm is useful enough to inspect the defects.

        가정교과에 적용한 지시적수업과 비지시적수업이 여고생의 학업성취와 학습태도에 미치는 효과

        The purposel of this study was to examine the effects which the direct and the indirect instructions as a Home Economics class have on improving the learning achievements and attitudes. To accomplish these goals, 90 students, the number of two classes of the first grade at P high school at Anyang city of Kyonggi province were selected. They are composed of the experimental group and the comparative group. Each group contained 40 students. The former was implemented by indirect instructions and the latter direct instructions. The 'family and Domestic Life' unit of the first grade was selected as the study subject to take effects and 30 periods of class were enforced. For the experimental measure of this study, the researcher used a pre-learning test, a learning attitude test, and a learning achievement test as means of measure. The two groups were confirmed as the group having the same quality. So after the experimental measure, the results of the post tests(included a learning achievement test and a learning attitude test) were verified by T-test in order to research the problematic subject, and SPSS/win statistics package was used for the processing of the statistics. The results are following: 1. The direct and the indirect instructions represented the meaningful differences in the learning achievements (p <.05). They represented the meaningful differences in improving the learning achievements of knowledge and understanding(p <.05). It was verified that the former is more effective than the latter in improving the learning achievements of knowledge and understanding. and They represented the meaningful differences in the improving learning achievements of application(p <.05). 2. They represented the meaningful differences in the learning attitudes at a domestic class(p< .05) The latter is more effective than the former in changing into the positive learning attitudes. In the light of these results, the direct instructions are effective in improving the learning achievements of knowledge and understanding, and the indirect instructions are effective in improving the learning achievements of application. Also the indirect instructions are more effective than the direct instructions in changing into the positive learning attitude.

      • 흥미 있는 영어수업을 위한 학습동기부여 방안 연구 : Some Ways to Motivate Students

        The purpose of this study is to give motivation to Korean high school students who study English as a foreign language and to make them concentrate on their study with interest. They have tried to improve their English competence for a long time but in fail. They have put much endeavor, time and cost in learning English but made little progress. Nowadays Korean high school students tend to be afraid and shrink from their learning activity as they think it is not interesting and easy. So it is more important to find more effective ways to learn English. As proved by a lot of studies, motivation is very important in learning language. By reviewing the studies on motivation, this paper tries to recognize how the motivation theory shifts over years and what theory is pertinent. The results indicate that 1) motivation plays a very important role in learning English; 2) each motivation has the complementary relationship with each other; 3) in learning English in Korea, instrumental, intrinsic/extrinsic motivations make much more progress than traditional integrative one; 4) in learning English, self-confidence is associated with intrinsic and instrumental motivation rather than integrative one. This study also try to suggest some effective teaching and learning methods in learning English in high school classrooms. Students try to concentrate on their studies when they feel they have no obligation and anxiety. As more effective methods with creativity of students, this paper try to show such methods as Counseling Learning, Communicative Language Learning and Cooperative Language Learning. They can make students take part in their class more actively and motivate high school students to concentrate on learning English.

      • 初期 現代英語의 文法的 缺陷硏究

        This article is aimed at helping students understand better some major classics written during the period of Early Modern English. As is well known, Shakespearean works, the Common Prayer and the King James Version were written at the Elizabethan age or at the Jacobean age, which cover the Early Modern English period. It is also to be noted that John Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress, although it came into being tens of years later, was written using the King James Version as linguistic model. One very odd scene in the English class of Korea is that those classics, which were written more than two hundred years ago, are used as textbooks or cultural readings for the students with no preknowledge of Early Modern English. A glance at those reading texts in the class shows that Early Modern English is different from current English in various aspects. Meanings of words have undergone such extensive and sometimes radical changes that modern readers, even native speakers cannot grasp the exact meanings without reference tools or glossaries. In another development, the grammar has also greatly changed. Especially, the usage of pronouns, prepositions, conjunctions and some other function words has been differentiated wide apart. In this writing, a detailed survey of such words was made with relevant examples, which were chosen from the Bible, the Common Prayer and the Pilgrim's Progress. It is hoped that the systemized materials treated here will serve as a good tool for a better understanding of Early Modern English.

      • Hebraism이 영어에 미친 영향 : 영어 성서를 중심으로 With special reference to the influence through the Bible

        No other modern language shows the influence of the Bible so clearly as English. We intend in this article to illustrate from Modern English a number of Biblical phrases and idioms, and Hebrew elements, which are directly or indirectly, and in some cases only remotely, referable to the Bible, especially the King James's Authorized Version. Chapter Ⅰ is the perface, in which the weight of Biblical influence is examined from various angles. Chapter Ⅱ deals with some features of Hebrew diction and linguistic structure transplanted into English through the Bible, with some concrete mention of Hebrew syntax, morphology, perallelism, repetition and literarary style. In Chapter Ⅲ, we deal with the Biblical allusion jn major literary works by English writers. This chapter states that a large number of phrases or expressions may be traced back to the Bible in their origin. English abounds with Biblical idioms. Such idioms as have become almost household words or general public expressions are listed in Chapter Ⅳ with usage examples from actual speech or literary works. In chapter Ⅴ, in conclusion, we emphasize the necessity of more intensive study of Hebrew influence on the English language. In the light of its heavy linguistic effect, we suggest that more serious study in this field be conducted for the practical application in the study of English literature, language and even teaching methodology.

      • 農民離村類型의 地域差 分析

        In order to find out the regional differences of rural-urban migration pattern, this study was conducted to analyze the field survey data on 18 Ri-Dongs of Chungbuk province. The results are summarized as follows. Firstly, the proportions of infant and the aged to youths and manhood are relatively higher than the national mean of them. It says that the quality of rural labour power has been decreased. Secondly, in the rate of the population migration among regions, the exurbs are higher than the suburbs. Thirdly, the migration pattern is, for the most part, the drift to the cities, and of these 80.2 percent is single migration. Fourthly, the migration rate of lower income farms is higher. The major accupations of the migrants to the cities is simple workers or the technicians. Fifthly, the major motives of the migration are lower farmhousehold income and children's education. Specially the suburbanite is greater in the former and the exurbanite in the latter.

      • 문법관의 변천에 따른 대학영어교육 개선방안

        This article is aimed at effecting some pedagogical changes in the English teaching at the university level on the basis of the change of grammatical views. So far, most. English teachers have been focusing their efforts lop-sidedly on teaching the correct English, that is, good English, acceptable and grammatical. In other words, all the grammatical theories, conventional, structural and transformational alike have been concerned almost exclusively with "well-formed sentences." Therefore, they can be named "sentence grammar." Of course, this sentence grammar is an essential tool for a good acquisition of the language. However, sentence grammar, a mere means of learning, fails to meet the demand on the part of the students, who are very inquisitive and curious. Instead of the boring repetition of the sentence grammar, which has been taken over from high school with almost no alteration, the students apparently need a new grammar or something of the sort. To help meet such demand, the writer asserts strongly that the "text-grammar," a grammar designed for a better and more effective English, be given more weight in the class. This grammar covers paragraph writing, theme development, basic rhetoric, style, and other effective writing techniques. In conclusion, the writer suggests that the English teacher make a selective use of the merits of the various sentence grammar theories, and use the text-grammar more, and more effectively in the university class.

        어머니의 위험에 대한 태도와 자녀의 위험감수형 놀이 행동에 대한 어머니의 허용도 및 자녀의 위험감수형 놀이 행동의 관계

        The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship among mother’s attitudes towards risks, their degree of permission for young children's risk-taking play behaviors and children’s risk-taking play behaviors in outdoor play. The subjects were 294 children aged four and five enrolled in kindergartens and their mothers. Results showed that there were significant differences in mothers’ attitudes toward risks and mothers’ degrees of permission for children’s risk-taking play behaviors between individuals and there was a significant relationship between mothers’ attitudes toward risks, degrees of mothers’ permission for children’s risk-taking play behaviors, and children’s risk-taking play behaviors. It was also apparent that the degree to which children engaged in risk-taking play behaviors was largely influenced by how much mothers permitted children’s risk-taking play behaviors and secondly by mothers’ attitudes toward risks.
