      • 강원,경북지역 낙엽송 지위지수 적합성 평가에 관한 연구

        본 연구는 강원 및 경북지역의 낙엽송 지위지수의 적합도를 평가하기 위해 실시되었다. 연구자료는 강원 및 경북지역의 45개 낙엽송 인공림 표준지 조사로부터 우세목 1본을 선발하여 수간석 해를 통해 분석되었다. 산림청에서 개발된 지위지수표에 의거하여 본 연구대상지의 지위지수를 산정한 결과, 지위지수가 18 이하로 낮은 지역은 8곳(18%)이었으며, 지위지수가 20 이상으로 우수한 지역이 37곳(82%)으로서 대부분 지역에서 지위지수가 우세하였다. 지위지수곡선의 적합도를 평가하기위해 수간석해목의 과거에서 현재까지의 수고생장에 따른 지위지수의 변화를 도시한 결과, 초기 임령 때 지위지수와 차이가 없는 곳은 단지 8지역(18%)이었으며, 지위지수가 2∼4 m 차이가 발생한 지역이 19곳(42%), 6 m 이상 발생한 지역이 18곳(40%)으로 나타났다. This study was performed to evaluate the compatibility of site index for Larix kaempferi in Gangwon and Kyeongbuk regions. The data were collected and analyzed from stem alalysis of one dominant tree at each of 45 permanent plots installed in the regions. The result of site index estimation following the site index table developed by Korean Forest Service (KFS) showed that 8 plots (18%) were less than site index 18 and 37 plot (82%) greater than site index 20. Height growth changes of stemmed trees until present were illustrated in a graphic form to evaluate the compatibility of site index curve. The result showed that only 8 plots (18%) did not show any change of site index as trees age, 19 plots (42%) fluctuated in 2∼4m and 18 plots (40%) over 6m.

        단상 유도형 동기 전동기(LSPM)의 특성해석에 관한 연구

        가전분야에서의 전동기 효율향상을 통한 에너지 소비절감 효과는 상당히 크지만 이를 위한 전동기의 설계/해석 기술 확보가 아직은 미흡한 상태이다. 이에 따라 유도형 동기전동기가 제안되었지만, 유도형 동기 전동기는 유도전동기와 통기전동기의 특성을 동시에 가지고 있어, 해석 및 설계가 쉽지 않다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 기존의 냉장고 압축기용 전동기인 단상유도전동기를 대처할 수 있는 단상 유도형 동기전동기를 이용해 파라미터에 따라 특성이 어떻게 바뀌는가에 대해 서술하였다. 그에 따라 단상유도전동기의 정상상태 특성을 해석하고 제안모델의 성능을 기존모델과 비교하고 실험하여 해석결과의 신뢰성을 검증한다. 또한 본 논문에서는 제안모델의 기존 고정자 형상이나 권선 스팩을 유지하고 회전자의 형상이나 구조만을 변경시켜 성능향상을 도모하였다. 해석방법으로는 전자장 수치 해석적인 방법으로 널리 이용되고 있는 유한요소법(Finite Element Method : FEM)을 이용하였다. Electric motor efficient improvement from home appliance field is important to the effect reducing the energy consumption. But the electric motor design/analysis technology is still insufficient. Specially the electric motor design/analysis technology of satisfying characteristic of both the induction motor and the synchronous motor such as Line start permanent motor. Therefore the electric motor design/analysis technology is urgently demanded reliability. This paper proposes the sing1e-phase line-start permanent magnet motor to develop the motor it with be able to alternate the sing-phase induction motor it is a refrigerator compressor motor. The sing-phase induction motor is analyzed in the steady state. And we have a certification test to compare our single-phase line-start permanent magnet motor with the sing-phase induction motor. In order to improve the performance, the stator of the single-phase line-start permanent magnet motor is same as the stator of the sing-phase induction motor and changes the rotor form and has the permanent magnet. It used the Finite Element Method(FEM) which is widely used with electronic-magnetic field numerical analysis method.

      • Construction of Stably Transformed Bm 5 Cells by Using Autographa californica Nuclear Polyhedrosis Virus IE 0 Gene

        To construct transfurmed Bm5 cells, Autographa californica nuclear polyhedrosis virus(AcNPV) IE1 gene, an immediate early viral gene was firstly used in this study. AcNPV IE1 gene, which shares on 95.3% nucleotide sequence homology with Bombyx mori nuclear polyhedrosis virus (BmNPV) IE1 gene, was isolated and cloned into pBluescript. Neomycin gene from pKO-neo was inserted under the control of the IE1 promoter to yield pAcIE1-neo. The plasmid pAcIE1-neo was transfected into Bm5 or Sf9 cells, and neomycin-resistant cells were selected in TC100 medium containing 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS) and 1 mg/ml G4l8 for two weeks. Individual clones were picked and each was amplified for further characterization. The genomic DNA from neomycin-resistant cells was isolated and characterized by PCR using AcNPV IEI gene-specific primers and by Southern blot analysis using neomycin gene probe. We concluded that AcNPV IE1 gene was functional in B. mori-derived Bm5 cells as well as Spodoptera fugjprrda-derived Sf9 cells to produce stably-transformed insect cells

      • Laser-Induced Solid-Phase Doped Graphene

        <P>There have been numerous efforts to improve the performance of graphene-based electronic devices by chemical doping. Most studies have focused on gas-phase doping with chemical vapor deposition. However, that requires a complicated transfer process that causes undesired doping and defects by residual polymers. Here, we report a solid-phase synthesis of doped graphene by means of silicon carbide (SiC) substrate including a dopant source driven by pulsed laser irradiation. This method provides <I>in situ</I> direct growth of doped graphene on an insulating SiC substrate without a transfer step. A numerical simulation on the temperature history of the SiC surface during laser irradiation reveals that the surface temperature of SiC can be accurately controlled to grow nitrogen-doped graphene from the thermal decomposition of nitrogen-doped SiC.         Management of Traumatic C6-7 Spondyloptosis with Cord Compression

        A case of total spondyloptosis of the cervical spine at C6-7 level with cord compression is described in a 51-year-old male. Because the bodies of C6 and 7 were tightly locked together, cervical traction failed. Then the patient was operated on by a posterior approach. Posterior stabilization and fusion were performed by C4-5 lateral mass and C7-T1 pedicle screw fixation and rod instrumentation with bridging both C4-5's rods to the C7-T1's extended ones. After C6 total laminectomy and foraminotomy, the C6 body was returned to its proper position. Secondly, anterior stabilization and fusion were performed by C6-7 discectomy with a screw-plate system. A postoperative lateral plain radiograph showed good realignment. In this case, we report the clinical presentation and discuss the surgical modalities of C6-7 total spondyloptosis and the failed close reduction.

      • Fabrication and evaluation of a drag-force type dual flow sensor with an embedded temperature sensor

        <P>We designed and fabricated a drag-force type dual flow sensor with an embedded temperature sensor. For the wide range detection, two devices in varying length (300 and 700 mu m) were used. The corrugated structure was applied for high sensitivity, and the paddle structure was also adopted to enhance the air drag force. The sensor measured the wide range air flow rate from 0.5 up to 8 m/s with a step width at 0.5 m/s. The 700 mu m-long sensor showed about 1.5 times larger sensitivity than the 300 mu m-long sensor in the low air flow. The results showed that the 700 mu m-long device is suitable for low velocity measurements. However, the 300 mu m-long sensor showed better sensitivity in the higher air flow; thus, the 300 mu m-long sensor is suitable for high velocity measurements. In addition, the embedded temperature sensor measured the basic temperature, and the measured sensitivity was compensated by temperature which could affect the flow sensor. It also showed a linear shape in resistance change related with temperature.</P>

      • A facile approach for the preparation of tunable acid nano-catalysts with a hierarchically mesoporous structure

        <P>A facile and efficient approach to prepare hierarchically and radially mesoporous nano-catalysts with tunable acidic properties has been successfully developed. The nanospheres show excellent catalytic performance for the acid catalysed reactions, <I>i.e.</I> cracking of 1,3,5-triisopropylbenzene and hydrolysis of sucrose.</P> <P>Graphic Abstract</P><P>A semi one-pot strategy to prepare tunable acid nano-catalysts with a hierarchically mesoporous structure is reported.       • Enhancement of fermentative bioenergy (ethanol/hydrogen) production using ultrasonication of <i>Scenedesmus obliquus</i> YSW15 cultivated in swine wastewater effluent

        <P>The influence of ultrasonication pretreatment on fermentative bioenergy [ethanol/hydrogen (H<SUB>2</SUB>)] production from a newly isolated microalgae biomass (<I>Scenedesmus obliquus</I> YSW15) was investigated. <I>S. obliquus</I> YSW15 biomass was sonicated for 0 min (control), 5 min (short-term treatment), 15 and 60 min (long-term treatment), which caused different states of cell lysis for microbial fermentation. Long-term sonication significantly damaged the microalgal cell integrity, which subsequently enhanced the bioenergy production. The accumulative bioenergy (ethanol/hydrogen) production after long-term sonication was almost 7 times higher than that after short-term treatment or the control. The optimal ratio of microalgal biomass to anaerobic inoculum for higher bioenergy production was 1 : 1. Microscopic analyses with an energy-filtering transmission electron microscope (EF-TEM) and an atomic force microscope (AFM) collectively indicated that cells were significantly damaged during sonication and that the carbohydrates diffused out of the microalgae interiors and accumulated on the microalgae surfaces and/or within the periplasm, which led to enhanced bioaccessibility and bioavailability of the biomass.         On-Site Transport and Storage of Spent Nuclear Fuel at Kori NPP by KN-12 Transport Cask

        고리 원전 사용후핵연료 저장조의 저장용량을 확보하기 위하여 2002년부터 사용후핵연료 운반용기를 이용하여 400다발 이상의 PWR 사용후핵연료 집합체를 원전부지 내에 수송, 저장하였다. 이를 위하여 KN-12 운반용기, 관련장비 및 수송차량으로 구성되는 수송시스템을 구성하였다. KN-12 운반용기는 국내 원자력법 및 IAEA의 수송규정에 따라 설계, 제작되고, 정부로부터 인허가를 획득하였으며, 취급장비 역시 관련규정에 따라 구비하였다. 수송 저장작업은 2 대의 운반용기를 동시에 투입하여 수행하였으며, 모든 작업공정에 대하여 엄격한 품질관리 및 방사선 안전관리를 수행하여 수송 안전성을 확보하고 신뢰도를 제고하였다. Since 2002, more than 400 PWR spent nuclear fuel assemblies have been transported and stored on-site using transport casks in order to secure the storage capacity of PWR spent nuclear fuel of Kori nuclear power plant. The complete on-site transport system, which includes KN-12 transport casks, the related equipment and transport vehicles, had been developed and provided. KN-12 transport casks were designed, fabricated and licensed in accordance with Korean and IAEA's transport regulations, and the related equipment was also provided in accordance with the related regulations. The on-site transport and storage operation using two KN-12 casks and the related equipment has been conducted, and the strict Quality Control and Radiation Safety Management through the whole process has been carried out so as to achieve the required safety and reliability of the on-site transport of spent nuclear fuel.

        S100ß, Matrix Metalloproteinase-9, D-dimer, and Heat Shock Protein 70 Are Serologic Biomarkers of Acute Cerebral Infarction in a Mouse Model of Transient MCA Occlusion

        Objective : Diagnosing acute cerebral infarction is crucial in determining prognosis of stroke patients. Although many serologic tests for prompt diagnosis are available, the clinical application of serologic tests is currently limited. We investigated whether $S100{\beta}$, matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9), D-dimer, and heat shock protein 70 (HSP70) can be used as biomarkers for acute cerebral infarction. Methods : Focal cerebral ischemia was induced using the modified intraluminal filament technique. Mice were randomly assigned to 30-minute occlusion (n=10), 60-minute occlusion (n=10), or sham (n=5) groups. Four hours later, neurological deficits were evaluated and blood samples were obtained. Infarction volumes were calculated and plasma $S100{\beta}$, MMP-9, D-dimer, and HSP70 levels were measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Results : The average infarction volume was $12.32{\pm}2.31mm^3$ and $46.9{\pm}7.43mm^3$ in the 30- and 60-minute groups, respectively. The mean neurological score in the two ischemic groups was $1.6{\pm}0.55$ and $3.2{\pm}0.70$, respectively. $S100{\beta}$, MMP-9, and HSP70 expressions significantly increased after 4 hours of ischemia (p=0.001). Furthermore, $S100{\beta}$ and MMP-9 expressions correlated with infarction volumes (p<0.001) and neurological deficits (p<0.001). There was no significant difference in D-dimer expression between groups (p=0.843). The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) showed high sensitivity and specificity for MMP-9, HSP70 (AUC=1), and $S100{\beta}$ (AUC=0.98). Conclusion : $S100{\beta}$, MMP-9, and HSP70 can complement current diagnostic tools to assess cerebral infarction, suggesting their use as potential biomarkers for acute cerebral infarction.
