A Novel Dynamic Optimization Technique for Finding Optimal Trust Weights in Cloud

Aluri V.H. Sai Prasad,Ganapavarapu V.S. Rajkumar 한국인터넷정보학회 2022 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.16 No.6

Cloud Computing permits users to access vast amounts of services of computing power in a virtualized environment. Providing secure services is essential. There are several problems to real-world optimization that are dynamic which means they tend to change over time. For these types of issues, the goal is not always to identify one optimum but to keep continuously adapting to the solution according to the change in the environment. The problem of scheduling in Cloud where new tasks keep coming over time is unique in terms of dynamic optimization problems. Until now, there has been a large majority of research made on the application of various Evolutionary Algorithms (EAs) to address the issues of dynamic optimization, with the focus on the maintenance of population diversity to ensure the flexibility for adapting to the changes in the environment. Generally, trust refers to the confidence or assurance in a set of entities that assure the security of data. In this work, a dynamic optimization technique is proposed to find an optimal trust weights in cloud during scheduling.

Modelling structural interdependent parameters of an urban road network using GIS

        Kurre Sai Sahitya,C. S. R. K. Prasad 대한공간정보학회 2020 Spatial Information Research Vol.28 No.3

The growth of an urban city is determined by the efficiency of its transport network structure. Existing road networks in many of the urban cities in India are unable to meet the increasing travel demand. The demand can be met only through the effective utilization of existing road networks, for which proper connectivity, high accessibility, and effective network morphology are necessary. In many metropolitan cities, the transport network is rapidly expanding at the center while the peripheral growth of the city is ignored. A structural-parameter-based evaluation of the transport network is necessary for acquiring a clear understanding of the existing road network of a city. While the evaluation of the structural parameters of the transport network is a challenging task, understanding the interrelationship among the parameters is no less challenging. Each parameter should be examined by considering the relationship with the other parameters to devise effective strategies for improving the efficiency of an existing transportation system. This study analyzed the relationship between connectivity, accessibility, spatial pattern, and development for the existing transport network of Hyderabad city, India. The results show a strong correlation between these parameters. The use of GIS in this study simplified the analysis. The obtained results would be useful to the concerned urban transportation planning authorities for effective decision-making and policy implementations.

Evaluation of opportunity based urban road network accessibility using GIS

        Sahitya Kurre Sai,Prasad C. S. R. K. 대한공간정보학회 2020 Spatial Information Research Vol.28 No.4

The structural performance of any transport network may be mainly evaluated using connectivity, accessibility, hierarchy and morphology. The evaluation of accessibility is one of the most important aspect in defining the performance of a road network structure. The present study is concerned with proposing a methodology for the city—level opportunity (or) urban services and distance based accessibility evaluation. The various opportunities (or) urban services like schools, colleges, ATM’s, banks, hospitals, police stations, petrol bunks, bus stops, parks and theatres up to a specified distance of 0–5 km radius were considered for the analysis. The weights were assigned to different opportunities and were analyzed using Weighted Scoring Model. The Mean Weighted Accessibility Index has been determined for each location to identify the level of accessibility in a particular location. The study attempts to define the level of road network accessibility at different locations in the study area. In the later stage, this study tried to establish the relationship between the number of opportunities and trip attraction rates and the results were discussed. The present work was also intended to prove the efficiency of Geographical Information Systems in opportunity based accessibility assessment.

Strontium in Al–Si–Mg Alloy: A Review

        M. R. Sai Ganesh,Nikhil Reghunath,M. J.Levin,Adarsh Prasad,Sanapala Doondi,Karthik V. Shankar 대한금속·재료학회 2022 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.28 No.1

The present article reviews the development of cast aluminium alloy with highlights on improvement in the morphological, mechanical, tribological, and ageing properties of Sr modifed Al–Si and Al–Si–Mg alloys. Aluminium and its alloys fndapplication in the automobile and aviation industries. The main objective of utilizing aluminium alloys for structural application, manufacturing of pistons and engine block for automobile industries is its lightweight and low density. However, thelow hardness of these alloys results in a high wear rate. The main factor that afects the properties of aluminium alloys isits microstructure, morphological behaviour, size of the grain and phase distribution. The morphological modifcation forthese alloys is done through diferent processing techniques like casting, heat treatment, solutionising, and alloying elementaddition which augments the mechanical, corrosion, and tribological behaviour of these alloys. Of the alloying elementadditions Sr has proved to a very efective modifer for the alloy, and hence the method of modifcation was studied in detail. The unwanted efects especially porosity, being one of the main factors for failure of components, were investigated andmethods to reduce it according to many researchers were included. Reinforcing the aluminium matrix with ceramic particlesand surface modifcation also enhances the properties of aluminium alloys. The current article reviews the recent techniquesto augment the microstructure, value of hardness, tensile properties, tribological properties, and corrosion behaviour of castAl–Si and Al–Si–Mg alloys by the addition of strontium. Moreover, this review also focuses on the future scope of thesealuminium alloys for structural application in automobile and lightweight industries.

Genetic Variability in the Fodder Yield, Chemical Composition and Disappearance of Nutrients in Brown Midrib and White Midrib Sorghum Genotypes

Singh, Sultan,Prasad, S.V.Sai,Katiyar, D.S. Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2003 Animal Bioscience Vol.16 No.9

Samples of eleven brown midrib (ICSU 96031, ICSU 93046, ICSU 96082, ICSU 96078, ICSU 96075, ICSU 95101, ICSU 96034, ICSU 96063, ICSU 45116, ICSA 93-3 and ICSA 3845 X 3816) and nine white midrib genotypes (ICSU 96050, ICSU 96030, ISU 95082, SSG 59-3, FSHI 93-1, FSHI 2219A X 3211, HC 171, ICSA 93-2 and ICSA 93-1) based on their phenotypic appearance were collected at 50 per cent flowering from the sorghum germplasm grown at Research farm of IGFRI, Jhansi. These genotypes were evaluated with respect to crude protein, fiber composition, in-sacco dry matter, OM, cell wall components disappearance/digestibility besides the fodder yield, total phenolic and availability index values. Brown midrib genotypes were lower (p<0.05) in NDF, ADF, cellulose and acid detergent lignin concentration than white midrib genotypes. Mean NDF, ADF, cellulose and lignin contents were 69.4, 42.1, 35.4 and 5.7% in brown mid rib vis-a vis 75.8, 47.5, 39.6 and 7.3% in white mid rib genotypes. Nonsignificant (p>0.05) differences were observed in dry matter, crude protein and organic matter contents between brown midrib and white midrib genotypes. Phenolic contents were significantly (p<0.05) lower in browm mid rib (0.2) than white mid rib (0.3%) sorghum. Brown midrib genotypes exhibited significantly (p<0.05) higher in-sacco DM, OM and CP disappearance than normal (white midrib) genotypes. The mean degradability of DM, OM and CP was 64.1, 62.6 and 79.6% in brown mid rib and 53.1, 54.0 and 76.6% in white mid rib genotypes, respectively. There were no significant (p>0.05) differences between genotypes in extent of fiber fraction degradability though in-sacco NDF and ADF degradability was more by 5 and 4 units, respectively in brown midrib genotypes vis-a-vis white midrib genotypes. Average fodder yield (green and dry g/plant) and availability index (%) values were significantly (p<0.05) higher for brown midrib (474.2, 129.8 and 80.4) genotypes than white midrib (375.0, 104.8 and 69.2) genotypes. Lignin contents had significant negative correlation with DM, OM, NDF and ADF degradability. The results of the study revealed that brown midrib genotypes are superior not only with regard to chemical entities and disappearance of DM and fiber fractions but also better in respect of fodder yield and availability index values. Thus, brown midrib sorghum strains may be useful in increasing digestibility, intake, feed efficiency and animal performance.

ZSM-5 supported iron catalysts for Fischer@?Tropsch production of light olefin

        Kang, S.H.,Bae, J.W.,Woo, K.J.,Sai Prasad, P.S.,Jun, K.W. Elsevier Scientific Pub. Co 2010 Fuel processing technology Vol.91 No.4

Fischer-Tropsch Synthesis (FTS) for olefin production from syngas was studied on Fe-Cu-K catalysts supported on ZSM-5 with three different Si/Al ratios. The catalysts were prepared by slurry-impregnation method of metallic components, and were characterized by BET surface area, XRD, hydrogen TPR and ammonia TPD. Fe-Cu-K/ZSM-5 catalyst with a low Si/Al ratio (25) is found to be superior to the other catalysts in terms of better C2C4selectivity in the FTS products and higher olefin/(olefin+paraffin) ratio in C2C4because of the facile formation of iron carbide during FTS reaction and also due to a larger number of weak acidic sites that are present in these catalysts.

Influence of Ga addition on the methanol synthesis activity of Cu/ZnO catalyst in the presence and absence of alumina

        Suk-Hwan Kang,Jong Wook Bae,P.S. Sai Prasad,Jong-Hyeok Oh,Seok-Lyong Song,Keh-Sik Min,전기원 한국공업화학회 2009 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.15 No.5

The influence of Ga addition to Cu/ZnO (CZ) methanol synthesis catalyst was investigated in the presence (CZA-Ga) and absence (CZ-Ga) of alumina. The reducibility of CZA-Ga was found to be more facile than CZ-Ga. The acidic strength of CZA-Ga was considerably decreased compared to CZA and CZ-Ga. In the presence of alumina, the addition of Ga to CZ improved the textural properties, resisted agglomeration of copper and showed higher activity and stability in methanol synthesis reaction from syngas. The easy reducibility and the appropriate acidity can be ascribed to the higher activity with high yield tomethanol observed on CZA-Ga.
