Tan's failure criterion for predicting the strength of fibrous anisotropic materials by expanding the strength function in Fourier series is reviewed. More efficient and simple method to obtain the strength of the lamina is presented. It is based on the use of the theoretical normal and shear stresses on a plane oriented to the loading axis in uniaxially loaded plate. The accuracy of the method is justified through comparison with experimental data. The main feature of the present method is that it does not need the off-axis tension test.

Versa Module Eurocard bus (VME) system은 고도의 안정성과 신뢰성을 요구하는 제어분야에 널리 사용되고 있다. 포항가속기연구소에는 다양한 전원장치의 실시간 제어와 신호처리를 위해 VME system을 사용한다. 주프로세서는 모토롤라의 74xx 시리즈의 power pc를 사용하고 있으며 데이터버스는 최대 64-비트를 지원한다. 제어를 위해서는 IP모듈을 사용하였고 PS는 fiber 미디어를 통해 5 Mbps로 고속통신이 이루어진다. 본 논문에서는 포항가속기연구소의 다중전원장치용 고속제어시스템의 하드웨어의 구조와 제어소프트웨어에 대하여 기술한다.

The 108 multiplexed Beam Position Monitor (BPM) electronic modules and 2 digital BPM modules are installed to diagnose the beam position around Pohang Light Source (PLS) storage ring. To provide high quality beam to beam users, the stable orbit is maintained through the orbit feedback controlled correction Power Supply (PS) and steering PS after precise readout of the beam position. The multiplexed BPM analog output signal is scaled about the order of Volt/mm. To maintain the sub-micron orbit, a few hundred measurements should be done through analog and digital filter. In this paper, PLS Control/Measurement system are introduced for beam operation to measure sub-micron beam position and the new beam position monitoring hardware with the high resolution (>18-bit) is presented by using of analog/digital filter. Also the measurement data of the advanced Digital BPM is presented.
