Practical Synthesis of (9S,10R)-9,10-epoxy-(3Z,6Z)-henicosadiene: The Major Pheromone of the Saltmarsh Caterpillar moth Estigmene acrea

        Deepak Kumar,Sridhar Chirumarry,B. V. D. Vijaykumar,S. J. Harshavardhan,장기완,이동하,신동수 대한화학회 2015 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.36 No.4

An efficient synthesis of (3Z,6Z)-cis-9,10-epoxy-3,6-henicosadiene (1), the major component of sex pheromone of saltmarsh caterpillar moth Estigmene acrea (Drury), was accomplished from commercially available pentadec-3-yn-1-ol and bromoundecane. Chirality was introduced by employing Sharpless asymmetric dihydroxylation on cis-olefin intermediate in the synthesis of 1, for the first time. The other key reactions include metal-dissolving coupling, Lindlar's catalyst-assisted partial hydrogenation, one-pot, three-step epoxidation from vicinal diol, and Wittig olefination. The overall yield of 1 was 24.7% in eight steps. The efficiency and simplicity of this synthesis allow the potential use of pheromone 1 in pest management programs.

Design, Synthesis In Vitro Anticancer Activity and Docking Studies of (−)-Catechin Derivatives

        Deepak Kumar,S. J. Harshavardhan,Sridhar Chirumarry,Y. Poornachandra,장기완,C. Ganesh Kumar,윤용진,Bao-Xiang Zhao,Jun-Ying Miao,신동수 대한화학회 2015 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.36 No.2

Novel series of ()-catechin derivatives 1a-l were synthesized, characterized and assayed for their cytotoxicity against four selected human cancer cell lines by standard MTT assay method. Most of the compounds significantly active among which 1d exhibited promising activity with IC50 values of 2.5, 4.8 and 5.4 μM specifically against hepatocellular liver carcinoma (HepG2), lung adenocarcinoma (A549) and prostate (DU-145) cell lines, while compound 1j showed promising cytotoxicity against human breast adenocarcinoma MDA-MB-231 (IC50 value of 6.6 μM). Compounds 1a, 1d, 1e, 1f and 1j exhibited broad spectrum cytotoxicity against all the cell lines screened. Molecular docking studies of compound 1d established the good binding affinity and are in favor of the observed biological activity. These data collectively suggest that compound 1d could serve as a new template for further optimization as anticancer agent.

Optimization of vibratory welding process parameters using response surface methodology

Pravin Kumar Singh,S. Deepak Kumar,D. Patel,S. B. Prasad 대한기계학회 2017 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.31 No.5

The current investigation was carried out to study the effect of vibratory welding technique on mechanical properties of 6 mm thick butt welded mild steel plates. A new concept of vibratory welding technique has been designed and developed which is capable to transfer vibrations, having resonance frequency of 300 Hz, into the molten weld pool before it solidifies during the Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) process. The important process parameters of vibratory welding technique namely welding current, welding speed and frequency of the vibrations induced in molten weld pool were optimized using Taguchi’s analysis and Response surface methodology (RSM). The effect of process parameters on tensile strength and hardness were evaluated using optimization techniques. Applying RSM, the effect of vibratory welding parameters on tensile strength and hardness were obtained through two separate regression equations. Results showed that, the most influencing factor for the desired tensile strength and hardness is frequency at its resonance value, i.e. 300 Hz. The micro-hardness and microstructures of the vibratory welded joints were studied in detail and compared with those of conventional SMAW joints. Comparatively, uniform and fine grain structure has been found in vibratory welded joints.

        K. Vinaya, R. Kavitha,C. S. Ananda Kumar,S. B. Benaka Prasad,S. Chandrappa,S. A. Deepak,S. Nanjunda Swamy,S. Umesha,K. S. Rangappa 대한약학회 2009 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.32 No.1

Several 1-benzhydryl-sulfonyl-4-(3-(piperidin-4-yl)propyl)piperidine derivatives 8(a-j) were prepared by the treatment of substituted benzhydryl chlorides with 4-(3-(piperidin-4-yl)propyl)piperidine followed by N-sulfonation with sulfonyl chlorides in the presence of dry methylene dichloride and triethyl amine. The synthesized compounds were characterized by 1H-NMR, IR, and elemental analysis. All the synthesized compounds were evaluated in vitro for their efficacy as antimicrobial agents by artificial inoculation technique against standard strains of two important bacterial viz., Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. vesicatoria and Ralstonia solanacearum as well as and two fungal pathogens namely Alternaria solani and Fusarium solani of tomato plants. We have briefly investigated the structure-activity relation studies and reveal that the nature of substitutions on benzhydryl ring and sulfonamide ring influences the antibacterial activity. Among the synthesized new compounds 8b, 8d, 8g, 8h, 8i, and 8j were showed significant potent antimicrobial activities compared to the standard drugs Chloramphenicol, Mancozeb.

      • Process optimization for biodiesel production from indigenous non-edible Prunus armeniaca oil

        Singh, Deepak,Kumar, Veerendra,Sandhu, S.S.,Sarma, A.K. Techno-Press 2016 Advances in energy research Vol.4 No.3

This work emphasized optimum production of biodiesel using non-edible Prunus armeniaca (Bitter Apricot) oil via transesterification collected from the high altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh, India. In this study the author produced biodiesel through the process of transesterification by using an alkali catalyst with alcohol (methanol and ethanol), under the varying molar ratio (1:6, 1:9, 1:12), variable catalyst percentage (1% and 2%) and temperature ($70^{\circ}C$, $75^{\circ}C$, $80^{\circ}C$, $85^{\circ}C$). Furthermore, a few strong base catalysts were used that includes sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, sodium metal and freshly prepared sodium methoxide. After screening the catalyst, response surface methodology (RSM) in connection with the central composite design (CCD) was used to statistically evaluate and optimize the biodiesel production operation using NaOH as catalyst. It was found that the production of biodiesel achieved an optimum level biodiesel yield with 97.30% FAME conversion under the following reaction conditions: 1) Methanol/oil molar ratio: 1:6, 2) Reaction time: 3h, 3) Catalyst amount: NaOH 2 wt. %, and 4) Reaction temperature: $85^{\circ}C$. The experimental results showed that the optimum production and conversion of biodiesel through the process of transesterification could be achieved under an optimal set of reaction conditions. The biodiesel obtained showed appropriate fuel properties as specified in ASTM, BIS and En- standards.

Comparative inhibitory screening of phytoconstituents from Capparis decidua against various ailments targets: a novel In-silico semblance ADME/Tox profiling studies

        Rajendra S. Dave,Deepak Kumar Sharma,Kamlesh R. Shah 경희대학교 융합한의과학연구소 2023 Oriental Pharmacy and Experimental Medicine Vol.23 No.4

Capparis decidua is a valuable medicinal, xerophytic plant. We aim for the first time to compare the therapeutic potency of phytochemicals employing In-silico semblance, and ADME/Tox profiling studies. A solid computational strategy may ensure financial benefits in the phases of drug development, as well as innovation and reliable outcomes. This work investigated analgesic hypocholesterolemia, antidiabetic, and anti-inflammatory potency of Capparis decidua (CD) extract using MeOH:nH:EtAc (1:1:1, v:v:v) a solvent. Hence, GC–MS were used to characterize CD extract, and further, based on Ligand– Protein interaction, revealed Campesterol as a major inhibitor found to be possessing a higher interaction affinity (In kcal/ mole; 2OYE; − 13.4, 1IR3; − 8.4, 3QNT; − 11.3, 3NUP; − 12.3, respectively), which leads to higher therapeutic potential. Further, various components were found to be bioactive including Neophytadiene, Palmitoleic acid, á-Sitosterol, Oleic acid, Rhodopin, 17-Pentatriacontene, Squalene, Piperine, 1-and, Eicosanol. Our results burlier proponent that Capparis decidua could help as a pain reliever, anti-inflammatory, and hypocholesterolemia problem, but more research is needed.

Assessment of Low Intensity Solar Radiation Susceptibility in 20 Wheat Varieties under Field Conditions Grown in Indo-Gangetic Plains of India

        Usha Mina,S.D. Singh,B. Singh,Deepak Singh,S. Tiwari,Pranav Kumar 한국작물학회 2019 Journal of crop science and biotechnology Vol.22 No.3

Wheat productivity declines under agro-ecosystems and areas exposed to aerosols due to decline in quality and quantity of solar radiation. Identification of low light-tolerant wheat varieties (Triticum sps.) will help in enhancing the sustainability and productivity of the agroforestry systems as well as areas exposed to aerosol pollution. The field study was conducted to assess the effects of low intensity solar radiation (LR) on 20 wheat varieties in terms of growth, stay green, gaseous exchange, yield attributes, and tolerance indices. Results indicate the increase in plant height and leaf area, reduction in photosynthesis (Pn), stomatal conductance (gs), and transpiration (Tr) in all the varieties grown under LR compared to normal radiation. The varieties, K68 and HD2643, exhibited maximum stay green compared to other varieties. LR caused reduction in biological (35%) and economic (46%) yield of wheat. Among the indices, mean productivity (MP), geometric mean (GM), stress tolerance index (STI), and yield index (YI) were positively correlated with grain yield under LR (Ys) and NR (Yp). Cluster analysis indicated that varieties-HD2643, K68, Kalyansona, and C306 varieties were most LR tolerant, while DL1266-1, DL1266-2, and Moti were moderately tolerant and rest of the varieties exhibited LR susceptibility.
