The purpose of the present work was to modify the absorbent cotton gauze to improve its functionality asantimicrobial wound dressing. The cotton gauze was modified by grafting of N-vinyl-pyrrolidone using microwave-assistedreactions. The effect of volume of N-vinyl-pyrrolidone and amount of ammonium persulfate on percentage grafting wasoptimized by 2-factor, 3-level central composite experimental design. The optimized batch of gauze-g-NVP wasimpregnated with iodine. The iodine-loaded gauze-g-NVP was characteristically examined by Fourier-transformed infraredspectroscopy and Field emission-scanning electron microscopy studies. The results of energy dispersive X-ray analysisconfirmed the uniform dispersion of iodine on the surface of iodine impregnated poly(NVP)-g-cotton gauze. Further, theiodine-loaded gauze-g-NVP showed blood absorbency and in vitro blood clotting ability comparable to the absorbent cottongauze. However, a significantly higher antimicrobial activity of iodine-loaded gauze-g-NVP against the Staphylococcusaureus and Escherichia coli was observed as compared to the iodine solution of equivalent concentration which can beattributed to the higher retention of iodine at the site of action. In the nutshell, results show that iodine-loaded grafted cottongauze have the desirable and effective antibacterial wound dressing property with excellent blood absorbency and clottingabilities.

Cryptography can be defined as the art of secret writing or protecting information by transforming it (encrypting it) into an unreadable format, called cipher text and then transmitting it across insecure networks, so that it cannot be read by anyone except the intended recipient. Only those who possess a secret key can decipher (or decrypt) the message into plain text. Encrypted information can sometimes be broken by cryptanalysis, also called code breaking, although modern cryptography techniques are virtually unbreakable. Various algorithms help achieve flawless encryption results which are mostly unbreakable. This paper is an attempt to improve one such algorithm, i.e. RC6 by adding on to its existing functionalities.

A field experiment to evaluate the effect of application of different organic manures and inorganic fertilizers on growth, yield and quality of leaf was studied during 2004-05 has showed that, the application of 10 kg each of Azospirillum brasilense and Aspergillus awamori+20% each of recommended N through compost+green manure (Glyricidia maculata)+castor cake+vermicompost+Urea and remaining P and K through fertilizers ($T_{11}$) has recorded significantly higher leaf yield (250 g/ plant and 34.70 tonnes/ha/yr, respectively) with improvement in growth characters as compared to control. Leaf quality status was also improved in terms of N (3.19%), P (1.97%), K (1.28%), total soluble protein (8.39 mg/ml), total soluble sugars (14.40 mg/ml), secondary nutrients viz., Ca (3.00%), Mg (0.60%), S (0.35%) and micronutrients viz., Cu (0.410 ppm), Mn (0.454 ppm) and Zn (0.112 ppm) contents. The mulberry grown with 20 tonnes of compost+300:120:120 Kg of NPK/ha/year through fertilizer ranked second for growth and foliar constituents.
Linking into Global Value Chains Is Not Sufficient: Do You Export Domestic Value Added Contents?

This paper compares alternative ways of measuring participation of a country in Global Value Chains (GVCs) and estimates distribution of gains among countries in terms of countries` shares in total value-added created by trade under GVCs. Using the OECDWTO database on Trade in Value Added, this paper shows that 67% of total global value created under global value chains, accrue to OECD countries while share of NICs and BRICs countries is 25%. Only 8% of total value added is shared among all other developing countries and Least Developed Countries (LDCs). Linking into Global Value Chains is not enough for taking gains. Policy should be designed to raise forward linkages, that is, exporting domestic value-added contents. Trade-led growth is more complex than it seems.
Motivational Aspects of Using MOOin the Elementary EFL Classroom

Students of a foreign language have two major problems that stem from their isolation from native speakers and more fluent non-native speakers of the target language. First, foreign language students have little opportunity to interact with speakers of the target language. Second, the isolation of foreign language students impedes the creation of positive attitudes towards the target language population and culture, and therefore impedes the development of motivation to learn the target language itself. Bringing foreign language students to a properly chosen MOO site may be a partial solution to these two problems. This would increase the opportunities to interact with native speakers and more fluent non-native speakers. In addition, the game like quality of MOO fantasy and the inherently interesting possibility of meeting peers from all over the world may lower the students' affective filter and facilitate greater language learning. This study examines the opinions of elementary school students of English as a Foreign Language (EFL and how they report their levels of anxiety, interest, relevance, expectancy, and satisfaction while using MOO as opposed to other foreign language procedures.
Utility scale solar power development in Nepal

Nepal is among the richest in terms of water resource availability and it is one of the most important natural resources of the country. Currently, 72% of the population is electrified through the national grid system. The power generation mix into the grid is hydro dominated with minor shares generated from solar and thermal (accounts for less than 1%). To achieve sustainable development in the power sector it is essential to diversify power generation mix into the grid. Knowing the facts, the government has a plan to achieve a 5-10% share of power generation from solar and mix it into the grid system. Solar is the second most abundant, prominent and free source of renewable in the context of Nepal. This study mainly focuses on the gridconnected solar system, its importance, present status, government efforts, and its need. It is based on the review of literature, news published in national newspaper online news and international organization"s report.
