Determining Adventure Tourist Loyalty: Mediating Role of Tourist Satisfaction and Quality of Life

This study aims to test the interrelationship among perceived value, tourist satisfaction, quality of life, and tourist loyalty in an Indonesian tourist adventure destination. The respondents were recruited from Bromo Mountain, East-Java Province, Indonesia. For this study, 250 questionnaires were distributed, of which 240 could be used for analysis, yielding a response rate of 96%. Data was analyzed using Partial Least Squares with smartPLS 3 software. Both outer model and inner model evaluation were conducted to ensure the robustness of the proposed model. The findings showed that perceived value does not have a direct significant effect on tourist loyalty. However, tourist satisfaction and quality of life have significant effects on tourist loyalty. The mediating effect test indicated that tourist satisfaction and quality of life significantly mediated the effect of perceived value on tourist loyalty. The multi-group analysis test found that the demographic factor does not have any influence. By accomplishing its research objectives, this study provides both theoretical and practical contributions. From a theoretical standpoint, this study provides a comprehensive conceptual model in explaining Indonesia adventure tourist loyalty. From a practical standpoint, this study offers recommendations to adventure tourism management to enhance the sustainability of the tourism destination, especially the adventure tourism destination.

This paper deals with the application of certain active and passive control mechanisms to control the dynamic response of a steel jacket platform due to wave-induced forces. The forces are estimated using the nonlinear Morison equation which provides nonlinear self-excited hydrodynamic forces. The influence of these forces on the response of a structure without and with vibration control mechanisms is demonstrated using a steel jacket platform as a simple example.
How Customer Experience Management Can Improve the Distribution of Marketing Performance

Purpose: This study aims to determine the effect of Customer Experience Management (CEM) on the distribution of Marketing Performance mediated by Digital Business Innovation (DBI), Digital Operational Excellence (DOE), and Digital Value Co-Creation (DVC) in Indonesia Information & Technology (IT) industry. Research design, data, and methodology: This research was conducted in two stages, namely exploratory and explanatory on IT companies in Indonesia. The authors took 132 samples using proportionate random sampling method in three groups of companies. Results: The results showed that CEM had no significant positive effect on the distribution of Marketing Performance. CEM has no direct effect on the distribution of Marketing Performance through the mediation of DBI. CEM has direct effect on the distribution of Marketing Performance through the mediation of DOE and DVC. DBI has no significant effect in increasing the distribution of Marketing Performance. However, DOE and DVC have a significant effect in increasing the distribution of Marketing Performance. Conclusion: The distribution of Marketing Performance can be indicated better through CEM through mediation.

Glutathione S-transferases(GSTs, EC 2.5.1.18), glyoxalase-I(EC 4.4.1.5) and alliin lyase(alliinase, EC 4.4.1.4) are important enzyme systems in plant bodies. The first two are mainly detoxifying enzymes that utilize glutathione(GSH) in the defense mechanism, and the last one is mainly involved in secondary metabolism and relevant to sulfur compounds derived from GSH. The activities of the three enzymes have been investigated in soluble extracts of vegetable crops, including pumpkin, cabbage, broccoli, radish, carrot, potato, sweet potato, mungbean, and onion. GST activities were detected in all of the vegetables, and the extract of onion bulb exhibited the highest specific activity(648 nmol/min/mgP). The putative GSTs of most of the vegetables were found to be induced by ethanol. The activities of GSTs in onion bulb were found to be markedly inhibited by S-hexyl glutathione and were also inhibited by S-butyl glutathione and S-propyl glutathione. The anti-CmGSTF1 antiserum recognized a thick band for putative onion GST. The estimated glyoxalase-I activity level was also high in onion bulb(4540 nmol/min/mgP), indicating that the thick band detected by Western blot analysis might result from partial recognition of glyoxalase-I by the antiserum. The specific activities for glyoxalase-I were moderate in radish and carrot, and the extracts of other vegetables had rather low levels of activities. The extract of onion also showed the highest specific activity level for alliinase(2069nmol pyruvate/mgP). The extracts of other vegetables also had alliinase activities, although the estimated values were much lower than that of onion.
Strengthening the Intention to Use Vehicle Tax Service Online in Indonesia

Purpose: The use of e-Samsat services in East Java has not been significant in the amount of use of its services for tax payments as a whole. The purpose of this study is to analyze what factors East Java e-Samsat services practice and the existence of recommendations as a basis for government decisions to improve the quality of East Java e-Samsat services. Research design, data and methodology: Our model hypothesizes that three key factors determine the intention to use e-samsat platform such as: trust, awareness, ease to use. Data collection methods by distributing questionnaires and interviews. Results: The results of the study provide two findings, firstly, Trust, Ease of Use, Awareness directly or indirectly affects the Intention to Use the East Java e-Samsat service for motor vehicle taxpayers. Thus it is essential to pay attention to these three variables in terms of clarity, reliability, and timeliness as a recommendation to improve the quality of East Java e-Samsat services.. Conclusions: The results of this study can be applied and developed in other countries besides Indonesia with the same cultural patterns. Several variables have been measured in previous studies in several Asian continent countries.
Herding Behavior Model in Investment Decision on Emerging Markets: Experimental in Indonesia

This research aims to examine the model of investor herding behavior in making investment decisions in the Indonesian capital market, which is influenced by social and information impacting on the value of the Book Value Per Share (BVPS). The latest stock market conditions show that most investors make the same error pattern in making investment decisions that result in losses. The experiment involves two independent variables, namely, information about BVPS and social influence. This study used a 2x2 factorial design laboratory experimental method. Data collection was carried out through treatment of a sample of 100 individual investors listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Univariate Two-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) statistical tool was used to test the independent variable on the dependent variable. Research results showed that the social influence originating from expert investors is more influential than the Book Value Per Share (BVPS) information on the behavior of herding investors in making investment decisions. These findings suggest that investors know their psychological factors, thereby increasing self-control and investment analysis skills. Further research can use psychological bias and other indicators of accounting relevant information such as Earning Per Share (EPS) to test herding behavior in investment decision making in the capital market.
Vote Buying in Indonesia: Candidate Strategies, Market Logic and Effectiveness

What underlying logic explains candidate participation in vote buying, given that clientelist exchange is so difficult to enforce? We address this question through close analysis of campaigns by several dozen candidates in two electoral districts in Java, Indonesia. Analyzing candidates’ targeting and pricing strategies, we show that candidates used personal brokerage structures that drew on social networks to identify voters and deliver payments to them. But these candidates achieved vote totals averaging about one quarter of the number of payments they distributed. Many candidates claimed to be targeting loyalists, suggestive of “turnout buying,” but judged loyalty in personal rather than partisan terms, and extended their vote-buying reach through personal connections mediated by brokers. Candidates were market sensitive, paying prices per vote determined not only by personal resources, but also by constituency size and prices offered by competitors. Accordingly, we argue that a market logic structures Indonesia’s system of vote buying.
