This paper evaluates outage probability (OP) and intercept probability (IP) of physical-layer security based MIMO networks adopting cooperative jamming (Coop-Jam). In the considered scenario, a multi-antenna source communicates with a multi-antenna destination employing transmit antenna selection (TAS)/ selection combining (SC), in presence of a multi-antenna eavesdropper using SC. One of jammers appearing near the destination is selected for generating jamming noises on the eavesdropper. Moreover, the destination supports the wireless energy for the chosen jammer, and cooperates with it to remove the jamming noises. We consider two jammer selection approaches, named RAND and SHORT. In RAND, the destination randomly selects the jammer, and in SHORT, the jammer, which is nearest to the destination, is chosen. We derive exact and asymptotic expressions of OP and IP over Rayleigh fading, and perform Monte-Carlo simulations to verify the correction of our derivation. The results present advantages of the proposed RAND and SHORT methods, as compared with the corresponding one without using Coop-Jam.

Two feeding experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of dietary genetically modified (GM) soya and com on growth performance, feed utilization and body composition of juvenile olive flounder, Paralichthys olivaceus and rockfish, Sebastes schlegelii. For each fish species, four isonitrogenous (50% crude protein) and isocaloric (4.1 kcal/g) diets (designated as nGM soya, GM soya, nGM com and GM com) were formulated to contain 20% non-GM (nGM) and GM soya and com. Thirty olive flounder (initial body weight, 15.4${\pm}$0.4 g) and fifty rockfish (initial body weight, 3.1${\pm}$0.02 g) were distributed in each 400 L tank (200 L water) in a flow through system. Each experimental diet was fed to triplicate groups of fish to visual satiation, twice a day (9:00 hand 17:00 h) for 6 weeks. Growth performance was measured every three weeks. No effects of GM feedstuffs on survival were observed. Dietary inclusion of GM feedstuffs did not affect growth performance and feed utilization of fishes, except for rockfish fed GM com. Rockfish fed the GM com diet showed higher weight gain, daily feed intake and daily protein intake than did fish fed the nGM com diet, but no significant differences were observed in final body weight between the dietary treatments. Condition factor, hepatosomatic index, visceral somatic index and body composition were not altered by the inclusion of GM feedstuffs. These results indicate that dietary inclusion of GM soya and com could have no effects on growth performance and feed utilization of juvenile flounder and rockfish. Lower weight gain and feed intake in flounder and rockfish fed the diets containing 20% soya were likely due to anti-nutritional factors, rather than transgenic factors in the feedstuffs. Dietary inclusion of GM soya and com at the level tested did not alter the body composition of fishes. Further studies to investigate the effects of GM feedstuffs on health conditions and the development of fishes, as well as those of residue of transgenic fragments in ambient environments and in animals are necessary for safe use of the ingredients in aquaculture.
Additive biocomponents from catfish by-products enhance the growth of shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei

The rapid expansion of shrimp production requires a huge amount of protein sources from soybeans and wild-caught fishmeal; both are becoming a shortage. Meanwhile, catfish production and processing is a giant industry in Vietnam, which produce hundred thousand tonnes of protein- and lipid-rich by-products, annually. Using catfish by-products to gradually replace the traditional protein sources in shrimp aquaculture may bring triple benefits: 1) reducing pressure on wild fish exploitation for fishmeal, 2) reducing the environmental impacts of catfish by-products, and 3) increasing the value and sustainability of aquaculture production. In this study, we used catfish by-products to produce fish protein hydrolysate (FPH) and nano-hydroxyapatite (HA) as additives in feed for Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei). The supplement mixture of FPH and HA was added into the commercial diet (Charoen Pokphand Group [CP], 38% protein, and 6.5% lipid) to reach 38%, 38.5%, 40%, 43%, and 44% of the crude protein content. The survival and growth of shrimps were weekly assessed to day 55. The results showed that the shrimp growth was highest at 43% crude protein content in the feed as indicated by an increase of 124% and 112% in shrimp weight and length, respectively, compared to the commercial reference diet. No negative effects of adding the mixture of FPH and HA on the water quality were observed. Vibrio density was lower than 6.5 × 103 CFU/mL, which is the lowest Vibrio density negatively affecting the shrimp growth and development. These findings indicate that the mixture of FPH and HA are promising additive components in feed for post-larval shrimp L. vannamei diets.

Recycling biomass to cellulose aerogel (Cell-A) provides a promising approach to develop adsorbent materials for spilled-oil recovery. In this work, Cell-A was fabricated from Vietnamese water hyacinth via crosslinking methods using PVA as a crosslinker and freeze-drying process. Various cellulose to PVA ratios were investigated to obtain the optimal synthesis condition. The Cell-A was additionally modified by dip-coating in poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) and pyrolyzing to form PDMS-coated cellulose aerogels (Cell-AP) and carbon aerogels (CA), respectively. Results of the oil adsorption tests show that pyrolysis produced aerogels with greater adsorption capacity with an optimal mass ratio of 15 : 1 cellulose to PVA. Furthermore, the pseudo-second-order model was found to be more accurate than the pseudo-first-order model for the study of oil absorption kinetics. As a result, the modified cellulose aerogel is promising for replacing earth-unfriendly polymer-based oil sorbents due to their high oil absorption capacity.

<P>We controlled the morphologies of zinc oxide (ZnO) nanostructures on single-walled carbon nanotube electrodes by an electrochemical deposition method and investigated the dependence of the electrocatalytic characteristics toward hydrazine on the different morphologies. Two Human Cases of Echinococcus ortleppi Infection in the Lung and Heart in Vietnam

This is a report of 2 cases of human hydatidosis caused by Echinococcus ortleppi in Vietnam. The patients were a 12-year-old male (case 1) having a cyst of 10.0×9.0 cm size in the lung and a 50-year-old female with a 3.0×3.3 cm-sized cyst in the heart. Eosinophilia was 33.7% in the male and 45.8% in the female patient. C-reactive protein was increased to 16.5 mg/L in the male and 18.2 mg/L in the female. Both patients were positive for ELISA at OD=2.5 and 3.1, respectively. Echinococcus protoscolices were collected from the cysts by amniocentesis and surgery. The protoscolices were identified as E. ortleppi by morphology and analysis of mitochondrial NADH dehydrogenase 1 (nad1) gene sequence. Both patients were cured by surgical resection of the hydatid cyst combined with albendazole medication. The E. ortleppi infection in lung is the second report, and the other in the heart is the first in Vietnam.
