Mobile-Based Relay Selection Schemes for Multi-Hop Cellular Networks

Zhang, Hao,Hong, Peilin,Xue, Kaiping The Korea Institute of Information and Commucation 2013 Journal of communications and networks Vol.15 No.1

Multi-hop cellular networks (MCNs), which reduce the transmit power, mitigate the inter-cell interference, and improve the system performance, have been widely studied nowadays. The relay selection scheme is a key technique that achieves these advantages, and inappropriate relay selection causes frequent relay switchings, which deteriorates the overall performance. In this study, we analyze the conditions for relay switching in MCNs and obtain the expressions for the relay switching rate and relay activation time. Two mobile-based relay selection schemes are proposed on the basis of this analysis. These schemes select the relay node with the longest relay activation time and minimal relay switching rate through mobility prediction of the mobile node requiring relay and available relay nodes. We compare the system performances via simulation and analyze the impact of various parameters on the system performance. The results show that the two proposed schemes can obtain a lower relay switching rate and longer relay activation time when there is no reduction in the system throughput as compared with the existing schemes.

Effect of Solid Particles on Cavitation and Lubrication Characteristics of Upstream Pumping Mechanical Seal Liquid Membrane

        Huilong Chen,Dongdong Sun,Yuanzheng Wu,Miaomiao Chen,Peilin Zhang 한국유체기계학회 2017 International journal of fluid machinery and syste Vol.10 No.4

In order to investigate the effect of solid particles on the cavitation characteristics and lubricating properties of the micro-gap liquid film in Upstream pumping mechanical seals, the Eulerian multiphase flow model was used to simulate the liquid film with different diameter and volume fraction of solid particles to analyze the influence of the particles on the distribution of vacuole, opening force and friction torque of the film under different working conditions. The results showed that the particles have an inhibitory effect on the cavitation, and the cavitation area and the volume fraction of the bubbles were both decreased. The cavitation area increased with the increase of particle diameter, which indicated that the inhibition of cavitation was weakened with the increase of particle diameter. The cavitation area decreased with the increase of the particle volume fraction, and the volume fraction increased the cavitation inhibition effect. The presence of particles improved the opening force of liquid film to a certain extent and increased with the increase of particle volume fraction, but the effect of particle diameter on opening force was different under different rotating speed and different medium pressure. The friction torque did not change obviously with the particle diameter, and decreased only slightly with the increase of the particle volume fraction. In the working condition range, the cavitation degree is not related to the pressure of the medium, but increases with the increase of the rotational speed, and the cavitation area and volume fraction of bubbles Were significantly decreased when there were solid particles.

Role of Dehydrocorybulbine in Neuropathic Pain After Spinal Cord Injury Mediated by P2X4 Receptor

        Wang, Zhongwei,Mei, Wei,Wang, Qingde,Guo, Rundong,Liu, Peilin,Wang, Yuqiang,Zhang, Zijuan,Wang, Limin Korean Society for Molecular and Cellular Biology 2019 Molecules and cells Vol.42 No.2

Chronic neuropathic pain is one of the primary causes of disability subsequent to spinal cord injury. Patients experiencing neuropathic pain after spinal cord injury suffer from poor quality of life, so complementary therapy is seriously needed. Dehydrocorybulbine is an alkaloid extracted from Corydalis yanhusuo. It effectively alleviates neuropathic pain. In the present study, we explored the effect of dehydrocorybulbine on neuropathic pain after spinal cord injury and delineated its possible mechanism. Experiments were performed in rats to evaluate the contribution of dehydrocorybulbine to P2X4 signaling in the modulation of pain-related behaviors and the levels of pronociceptive interleukins and proteins after spinal cord injury. In a rat contusion injury model, we confirmed that chronic neuropathic pain is present on day 7 after spinal cord injury and P2X4R expression is exacerbated after spinal cord injury. We also found that administration of dehydrocorybulbine by tail vein injection relieved pain behaviors in rat contusion injury models without affecting motor functions. The elevation in the levels of pronociceptive interleukins ($IL-1{\beta}$, IL-18, MMP-9) after spinal cord injury was mitigated by dehydrocorybulbine. Dehydrocorybulbine significantly mitigated the upregulation of P2X4 receptor and reduced ATP-evoked intracellular $Ca^{2+}$ concentration. Both P2XR and dopamine receptor2 agonists antagonized dehydrocorybulbine's antinociceptive effects. In conclusion, we propose that dehydrocorybulbine produces antinociceptive effects in spinal cord injury models by inhibiting P2X4R.
