Heteroclinic Turbulence in the Lotka-Volterra Reaction Diffusion Equation
Kenji Orihashi,Yoji Aizawa 한국물리학회 2007 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.50 No.1I
Heteroclinic turbulence in the Lotka-Volterra reaction diusion equation is studied numerically and theoretically, and the statistical feature is analyzed precisely in reference to the onset mechanism of the turbulence. First, the bifurcation diagram is demonstrated in detail, and a variety of attractors are discussed. It is emphasized that the diversity of the attractor enhances when the system size increases. Next, the transition from a regular attractor to a turbulent one is characterized by a correlation function, as well as by the Lyapunov exponent, where one can observe the scaling laws clearly for the correlation length and the maximum Lyapunov exponent.m
Eruption age of the Kusandong Tuff in the Cretaceous Gyeongsang Basin, Korea
좌용주,이용일,Yuji Orihashi 한국지질과학협의회 2009 Geosciences Journal Vol.13 No.3
The Kusandong Tuff has been regarded as a key bed for the subdivision of the Upper Cretaceous strata in the Gyeongsang Basin. Since the Kusandong Tuff has the wide range of the K−Ar whole-rock ages (82~103 Ma) due to contamination and alteration, it is difficult to estimate the eruption age of the tuff. For the precise eruption age of the Kusandong Tuff, zircon grains from the tuff were analyzed using laser ablation-inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS). The zircon U−Pb ages of the Kusandong Tuff are 97.1 ± 2.0 Ma and 97.3 ± 1.8 Ma, indicating that the tuffaceous bed formed during the middle Cenomanian. Accidental zircons in the tuff have a U−Pb age of 107.9 ± 3.0 Ma, which corresponds to the earlier Cretaceous igneous activity during the early Albian in age.
Magnetic Properties of Mn2Sb1−xGex (0.05 ≤ x ≤ 0.2) in High Magnetic Fields
Daisuke Shimada,Hiroki Orihashi,Daisuke Mitsunaga,Masakazu Ito,Masahiko Hiroi,Keiichi Koyama,Reisho Onodera,Kohki Takahashi,Kazuyuki Matsubayashi,Yoshiya Uwatoko 한국물리학회 2013 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.63 No.3
Magnetization and electrical resistivity measurements were carried out for polycrystallineMn2Sb1−xGex (0.05 ≤ x ≤ 0.2) in magnetic fields up to 16 T in the 4.2 - 600 K temperaturerange in order to investigate the magnetic and the electrical properties under high magnetic fields. Mn2Sb0.92Ge0.08 showed a Curie temperature, TC, of 532 K and a first order magnetic transitionfrom a ferrimagnetic (FRI) to an antiferromagnetic (AFM) phase at Tt = 230 K with decreasingtemperature in a zero magnetic field. With increasing x, TC decreased and Tt increased. ForMn2Sb0.92Ge0.08, a matamagnetic transition from an AFM to a FRI phase was observed at 215 K. The magnetic phase diagram of Mn2Sb1−xGex is presented.

Objective: Soy sauce oil, a byproduct of whole soybean processing by the soy sauce industry, was evaluated as a source of linoleic acid for dairy cows for the purpose of manipulating the composition of milk. Methods: Eight dairy Holstein cows fitted with rumen cannulas were used for ruminal administration of soy sauce oil for a 28-day period using a 4×4 Latin square study design with 4 doses (0, 200, 400, and 600 g soy sauce oil/d). Results: Although dry matter intake and milk yield were not affected by soy sauce oil administration, ruminal concentrations of total volatile fatty acids and acetate were decreased, specifically at 600 g/d administration. While milk fat percentage was decreased with administration of soy sauce oil, proportions of linoleic, vaccenic and conjugated linoleic acids in the rumen, blood and milk were increased with increasing soy sauce oil dose. Conclusion: These results suggest that soy sauce oil feeding could be useful for improving milk functionality without adverse effects on animal production performance when fed at less than 400 g/d.
