Repeated Games with General Discounting
( Ichiro Obara ),( Jae Ok Park ) 한국산업조직학회 2015 한국산업조직학회 정책세미나 논문집 Vol.2015 No.1
We introduce a general class of time discounting, which includes time-inconsistent ones, into repeated games with perfect monitoring. A strategy profile is called an agent subgame perfect equilibrium if there is no pro table one-shot deviation at any history. We characterize strongly symmetric agent subgame perfect equilibria for repeated games with symmetric stage game. We find that the harshest punishment takes different forms given different biases. When players are future biased, the harshest punishment is supported by a version of stick-and-carrot strategy. When players are present biased, the harshest punishment may take a more complex form. In particular, the worst punishment path may need to be cyclical. We also find that the worst punishment payoff is different from the stage game minmax payoff even when players are patient. For some class of discounting, we show that the worst punishment payoff is larger than the stage game minmax payoff with present bias and smaller than the stage game minmax payoff with future bias. We also characterize the set of limit equilibrium payoffs as the length of periods converges to 0, without changing the intertemporal structure of biases.

The root is the sole organ taking up water andnutrients from soils. Hence, root system architecture (RSA)is important for enhancing high-level and stable rice(Oryza sativa L.) production. However, the geneticimprovement of RSA has received less attention than yieldand yield components. Here, we aimed to identify andcharacterize quantitative trait loci (QTLs) for RSA bydetermining the maximum root length (MRL) of seedlingsgrown hydroponically under various concentrations ofNH4?. We used a total of 280 introgression lines (ILs) withan Indica-type variety IR64 genetic background, consistingof ten sibling ILs groups, to detect the QTLs. Greatervariation of MRL was found in three sibling ILs groups. Intotal, five QTLs were detected by single marker analyses:two each on chromosomes 5 and 6 and one on chromosome7. Among them, the most effective QTL was detected on asegment derived from IR69093-41-2-3-2 (YP5), which waslocalized to the long-arm of chromosome 6. The QTL,designated as qRL6.4-YP5, concerned in root elongation. MRL and total root length of a near-isogenic line (NIL) forqRL6.4-YP5 were significantly (15.2–24.6 %) higher thanthose of IR64 over a wide range of NH4? concentrations. Root number and weight of the NIL were the same as thoseof IR64. These results indicated that qRL6.4-YP5 was aconstitutive QTL for root length in response to change innitrogen concentrations. To enhance yield potential byimproving RSA, qRL6.4-YP5 might help to improve rootdevelopment in rice molecular breeding programs withmarker-assisted selection.
Estimations of Regional Stress Based on Measured Local Stress
( Yuzo Obara ),( Katsuhiko Kaneko ),( Seong Seung Kang ) 대한지질공학회 2016 지질공학 Vol.26 No.2
Estimations of regional stress are demonstrated in this paper. Firstly, regional stress is defined and the characteristics of regional stress are then discussed based on the local stresses measured by the Compact Conical-ended Borehole Overcoring (CCBO) technique and the results from the earthquake focal mechanism. Secondly, the regional stresses are estimated by a back analysis of three-dimensional finite element models, using the local stresses measured by the CCBO and hydraulic fracturing.

DC power supplies for a battery testing are becoming significantly important for developments of electrical vehicles (EVs), mobile devices, and renewable energy generations. In the recent decade, modular multi-level converters (MMC) have been actively studied and started to use on some practical applications such as high- or mediumvoltage DC-AC or AC-DC power converters. However, the widely used MMC topology has a significant issue to extend to a DC-DC converter, because it cannot achieve capacitor voltage balancing of each cell unlike the case of the DC-AC and AC-DC conversions. Therefore, most of the MMC-based DC-DC converters are realized by combining the DC-AC converter, isolation transformer or inductor, and AC-DC converter. In this study, the DC-DC operation in the MMC and its problem are analyzed and clarified. This paper proposes a circuit topology and control method of the MMCbased DC-DC converter with cell voltage balancing and fast dynamic response while the DC-AC and AC-DC converters are not used. Simulation results verify the validity of the capacitor voltage balancing control. Finally, an experimental result in a prototype converter with 6-cells using SiCMOSFETs shows the performances of the voltage balancing control and fast dynamic response.
Catalytic Control Requirement for the Closed-Cycle High-Repetition-Rate Operation of a TEA CO₂Laser
Minoru Obara,Hirokazu hokazono,Naoki Kobayashi 慶熙大學校 레이저 工學硏究所 1991 레이저공학 Vol.2 No.-
Using the newly developed 1 kHz, closed-cycle transversely excited atmospheric (TEA) CO₂ laser with the efficient CO₂ regenerator including the Pt/Al₂O₃ solid catalyst, we experimentally determined the minimum operational performance of CO₂ regenerator, which is required for the stable and long-life operation of the closed-cycle TEA CO₂ laser. The operational performance of the CO₂ regenerator was evaluated by the fractional conversion (η) from CO to CO₂, which is defined as the ratio of the differential CO₂ concentration increased by the CO₂ regenerator to the total CO concentration introduced into the CO₂ regenerator. The minimum fractional conversion (Πmin) of 0.07 was at least required to keep the laser output power at 95% of the initial laser output for the laser gas mixture of CO₂/N₂/He=15/15/70(%) and at input energy density and a clearing ratio of 150 J/l and 6.0, respectively. When operating the CO?? regenerator at Πof 0.10, no appreciable reduction of the initial laser output of 570W due to CO₂ decomposition was observed up to 1.8 ×10?? shots (5 hours). At this time, the gas analysis showed that the CO and O₂ concentration in the laser gas mixture was maintained about at 0.17% and 0.055%, respectively.
Stable oscillation of AlGaInP diode laser with phase-conjugate feedback
Minoru Obara,Akira Shiratori,Ryuji Aida 慶熙大學校 레이저 工學硏究所 1996 레이저공학 Vol.7 No.-
During the last decade, much attention has been paid to a diode laser with phase-conjugate feedback(PCF). Because the phase-conjugate feedback beam traces exactly back to the extremely small active region of the diode laser, selfaligning of the external phase conjugator and mechanical stability of the laser system can be easily achieved. By taking the unique advantage of PCF, several improvements of diode lasers such as spectral narrowing, beam shaping of LD arrays, and mode locking have ever been demonstrated.
