Nonlinear Co-simulation of Component and System Using a New Parameter for WiMAX
Nakamoto, Shoko,Chinen, Koyu The Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers 2013 The Journal of International Council on Electrical Vol.3 No.3
Many Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) are used in the transceiver systems of Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX). Error Vector Magnitude (EVM) that is caused by a nonlinear distortion of the LNA degrades the quality of WiMAX systems. In general, the LNA design using a linear model (S-parameter) has not been focusing on the EVM, although focusing on the gain and Noise Figure (NF).A co-simulation of the components and system was carried out to evaluate the EVM of the WiMAX system using the LNA. In the co-simulation of the linear model components and systems, no saturation was observed for the EVM. This meant the co-simulation using the linear model was not effective for the design of the EVM.

The present study focuses on how to mutually engage and apply hand massage in an effective manner from the view points of therapist about applying hand massage and information obtained from patients, and proposes a method for the same. To be more precise, in order to build a hand massage method for elderly people with dementia, three cases ofhand massage conducted between June 2010 and May 2011 (distinctive cases in the initial stage of hand massage) are described, progress notes recorded in video or episode are exp1ained, and therapists’ way of engaging and his viewpoints are elucidated. In addition, from this viewpoint of engaging with therapist, we have derived and proposed a method of hand massage in the initial stage of therapy for elderly people with dementia. It also came to light that viewpoint of interpersonal assistance, which is the basic skill of social work, is also necessary.
Long-term Mechanical Behavior of CFRP-strengthened Steel Members for a Truss Tower
Nakamoto, Daiki,Yoresta, Fengky Satria,Matsui, Takayoshi,Mieda, Genki,Matsuno, Kazunari,Matsumoto, Yukihiro Council on Tall Building and Urban Habitat Korea 2020 International journal of high-rise buildings Vol.9 No.4
This research aimed to clarify the long-term mechanical performance of a steel truss member strengthened by a carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) without protective coating through exposure testing. Strengthening and repair methods using CFRP have been developed in recent years; however, there is a lack of durability research for CFRP-strengthened members, especially mechanical performance investigation according to actual exposure testing. In this study, 10 CFRP-strengthening steel specimens were created in 2015, and elastic bending tests were conducted biannually. Eventually, although resin loss occurred due to environmental effects, the mechanical performance of CFRP-strengthened steel was not degraded, and we propose a calculation method of bending stiffness to evaluate the lower value of stiffness for design.
Benefits of the activity of jointly reading picture books at home on upbringing of children
NAKAMOTO Mio,UNO Naoki,ISHII Yasuka,HIGUCHI Mawaharu 아시아아동지원학회 2012 아시아아동지원연구 Vol.3 No.-
The present study uses KH Corder2.x to analyze the notes of parents in "picture notebooks" of class for 2 years children at M Nursery School that has implemented this system as a part of daily childcare activity. From the results of this analysis , it came out that the other persons involved reading activity at home were diverse, and in children as well the other persons the reading activity engendered various sentiments arising from feelings of “like" and “like very much". Moreover, it also came to light that both parents and children proactively participated in the activity of reading together, and without restricting to reading activity, it expanded to several activities. From these results , we came to know that the activity of reading using picture books as a medium is not a unidirectional activity, rather it has mutual effects of joint reading, and once started, it significantly impact the upbringing of children. Moreover, apart from parents, sharing of feelings, words, space, behavior etc. emerging from the “person" and enjoying while jointly reading the picture books supports the growth and development of children, and creates even better environment for their upbringing.

In this paper, we propose a new FIR filter structure which consists of the shift operation circuits and single multiplier. Though the approximate accuracy for the required frequency response is not better than that of the general FIR filters, the processing speed is higher because most calculation is the shift operation in this structure. The error caused by the change of filter coefficients distributes in the stop-band, so the sharp cutoff characteristic can be retained. Of course, the stability and linear phase characteristic of the filter is also preserved. Also, we show the algorithms for designing the proposed FIR filters. For designing the single multiplier, the Lagrange multiplier method is used, and for optimization of the shift operation circuits, we propose the branch and bound based algorithm. Finally, we show the effectiveness of the proposed method by using the numerical example.

In this paper, we formulate the filter design problem based on modified least square criterion in the frequency domain. Here the problem is expressed as quadratic form and we optimize the filter coefficients by using branch and bound method in discrete space. In the branch and bound method, we calculate the relaxation solution based on the Lagrange multiplier method and search in the domain in which good possible solutions exist. In this method, the stable solutions whose poles are all inside the unit circle are just acceptable, so the stability of the filter can be guaranteed. Finally, numerical example is given to illustrate the utility of the proposed method.
