Media Framing on Coverage of Motorway Rape Incident: A Study of Cable Channels in Pakistan
Muhammad Riaz Raza,Muhammad Usman Saeed,Zafar Ali 숙명여자대학교 아시아여성연구원 2023 Asian Women Vol.39 No.2
Sensitive issues, such as rape, need to be handled with special care in the media, as the media's framing impacts how the audience perceives an event. Using framing theory, this study investigated the coverage of the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway Incident on four leading news channels: Geo News, ARY News, Dunya News, and Express News. Content analysis was performed to analyze the data collected from 26 programs of 4 primetime talk shows on the selected channels. The study's findings reveal that Geo News provided the most extensive coverage of the incident. Altogether, seven significant themes were identified, the most dominant thematic frame being blaming the police. It concludes that the media's coverage of the incident was responsible and objective in relation to the victim and avoided the use of sensational language.
Fuzzy parameterized fuzzy soft topology with applications
Muhammad Riaz,Masooma Raza Hashmi 원광대학교 기초자연과학연구소 2017 ANNALS OF FUZZY MATHEMATICS AND INFORMATICS Vol.13 No.5
In this paper, we study the concept of fuzzifying soft set called fuzzy parameterized fuzzy soft sets (FPFS-sets) and some results which holds in crisp set theory but does not hold in FPFS-set theory. We study FPFS-topology on FPFS-sets. We introduce closure, interior, frontier and exterior in the context of FPFS-topological spaces. We also discuss some properties of quasi-coincidence and Q-neighborhood for FPFS-sets. Furthermore, we present an application of FPFS-topology to find the aggregate of every FPFS-open set in FPFS-topology by using some algorithms for decision-making.

Cellulosic materials being biodegradable are susceptible to bacterial attack. Present study was meant to develop anantibacterial viscose fabric via a clean, easy and reproducible approach. Silver nanoparticles (SNPs) were prepared usingchitosan both as reducing and as well as stabilizing agent to promote green synthesis of SNPs. The prepared SNPs werecharacterized using dynamic light scattering and UV-visible (vis) absorption spectroscopy. The average size of SNPs wasfound to be 8.574 nm with respective zeta potential of +45.2 mV using AgNO3 concentration of 1 mM and chitosan as 1 %(w/v). Pre-treated viscose fabric was undergone an in situ treatment to impregnate SNPs on its surface under certain autoclaveconditions. Scanning electron microscopy revealed the presence of SNPs on surface of treated viscose fabric in comparisonwith the untreated fabric. In addition, Fourier transform infrared and elemental analysis confirmed the presence of silver onthe treated fabric. The textile properties of the viscose fabric samples like; tensile strength, wettability, antibacterial activityand whiteness were evaluated using the standard protocols. The developed treated viscose fabric showed good antibacterialproperties against both Gram negative Escherichia coli and Gram-positive Staphylococcus aureus bacterial strains with fairtextile characteristics. This is the first report on in situ fabrication and impregnation of SNPs using chitosan as both reducingand stabilizing agent on a regenerated cellulose fabric like viscose.
Lipoxygenase Inhibitory Constituents from Indigofera oblongifolia
Ahsan Sharif,Ejaz Ahmed,Abdul Malik,Naheed Riaz,Nighat Afza,Sarfraz Ahmad Nawaz,Muhammad Arshad,Muhammad Raza Shah,Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary 대한약학회 2005 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.28 No.7
Indigin, alkylated xanthene (1) and indigoferic acid (2) have been isolated from the chloroform soluble fraction of Indigofera oblongifolia, along with β-sitosterol (3) and 3-hydroxybenzoic acid (4), which are reported for the first time from this species. Their structures were determined through spectroscopic techniques. Both the new compounds 1 and 2 showed significant activity against enzyme lipoxygenase, while 2 further showed moderate inhibition against BChE.

Indigin, alkylated xanthene (1) and indigoferic acid (2) have been isolated from the chloroform soluble fraction of Indigofera oblongifolia, along with $\beta$-sitosterol (3) and 3-hydroxybenzoic acid (4), which are reported for the first time from this species. Their structures were determined through spectroscopic techniques. Both the new compounds 1 and 2 showed significant activity against enzyme lipoxygenase, while 2 further showed moderate inhibition against BChE.
