Development of a High Performance Web-Server Scheme Including SSL/TLS Protocol

This paper proposes a high Performance Web-server scheme, which maximizes the efficiency of web services. The proposed architecture not only accelerate non-secure web services but also significantly increases the processing rate of Secure Socket Layer(SSL) operations on a web server, especially when the traffic is heavy. Because most web servers previously used apply user threads for processing HTTP/HTTPS requests, CPU overheads are inevitable. They end up slowing the processing time down. It is built in the Linux-based kernel as a kernel module to reduce the functional overheads of the user-level applications. To validate the effectiveness of proposed architecture, we evaluate its performance in comparison with the conventional Apache. As a result, it improves webserver performance by up to 500% for non-secure static contents and by up to 200% for SSL operations.

A real-time system is characterized by its timing constraint which accounts for system inertia against temporal controller-failure(s) and depends intrinsically on the plant dynamics and the environments. In this paper, we do not only build a semi-Markov model to evaluate the probability of system failure for the system embedded with the deadline information but also propose a path-space approach to derive both upper and lower bounds of system reliability significantly reducing computing complexity without loss of much accuracy, which is verified by the tightness between both of the bounds derived in numerical examples.

<P>Low-level laser therapy/treatment (LLLT) using a minimally invasive laser needle system (MILNS) might enhance bone formation and suppress bone resorption. In this study, the use of 405 nm LLLT led to decreases in bone volume and bone mineral density (BMD) of tibial trabecular bone in wild-type (WT) and <I>Per2</I> knockout (KO) mice. Bone volume and bone mineral density of tibial trabecular bone was decreased by 405 nm LLLT in <I>Per2</I> KO compared to WT mice at two and four weeks. To determine the reduction in tibial bone, mRNA expressions of alkaline phosphatase (<I>ALP)</I> and <I>Per2</I> were investigated at four weeks after 405 nm laser stimulation using MILNS. <I>ALP</I> gene expression was significantly reduced in the LLLT-stimulated right tibial bone of WT and <I>Per2</I> KO mice compared to the non-irradiated left tibia (<I>p</I> < 0.001). <I>Per2</I> mRNA expression in WT mice was significantly reduced in the LLLT-stimulated right tibial bone compared to the non-irradiated left tibia (<I>p</I> < 0.001). To identify the decrease in tibial bone mediated by the <I>Per2</I> gene, levels of runt-related transcription factor 2 (<I>Runx2</I>) and <I>ALP</I> mRNAs were determined in non-irradiated WT and <I>Per2</I> KO mice. These results demonstrated significant downregulation of <I>Runx2</I> and <I>ALP</I> mRNA levels in <I>Per2</I> KO mice (<I>p</I> < 0.001). Therefore, the reduction in tibial trabecular bone resulting from 405 nm LLLT using MILNS might be associated with <I>Per2</I> gene expression.</P>
임베디드 시스템에서 원-폰 서비스를 위한 블루투스 액세스 포인트 개발

본 논문에서는 가정에서 블루투스 장비를 이용하여 액세스 네트워크에 접속하기 위한 블루투스 접속장비(AP)의 개발을 제안한다. 헤드셋, 마우스, 키보드 등과는 달리 AP는 다중 접속 및 안정된 네트워크 처리량을 유지할 수 있는 능력을 갖추어야 한다. 제안된 AP는 다양한 종류의 블루투스 장비들이 xDSL이나 PSTN으로 이루어진 액세스 네트워크에 안정적으로 접속하게 한다. 특히, 가정 내에서 AP는 사용자들이 one-Phone-블루투스 모듈이 포함된 셀룰러 전화기-을 이용하여 상대적으로 비싼 CDMA 네트워크 대신 PSTN에 접속할 수 있게 한다. In this paper, we describes the development of Bluetooth network Access Point(AP) for the access network connection of Bluetooth devices at home. Unlike headset, mouse, and keyboard, the AP should have capability to support multiple connection and stabilized network throughput. Our AP allows various kinds of Bluetooth terminals to access the access network like xDSL and PSTN(Public Swithced Telephone Network) stably. Especially, users can access the PSTN at home instead of expensive CDMA network through the AP by using the one-phone which is the cellular phone with the Bluetooth module.
