        Nabil A. Ibrahim,Basma M. Eid,Mohamed S. Abdel Aziz,Soha M. Hamdy,Safaa E. AbdAllah 한국섬유공학회 2019 Fibers and polymers Vol.20 No.4

The main task of the present study is to pre-screen selected fungal strain (Fusarium oxysporum M1-EGY) isolatedfrom local agriculture soil and optimize cultivation conditions for an acid pectinase production. Experimental resultsdemonstrated the optimum conditions for achieving the highest enzyme activity (14.80 U/ml) were found to be: incubationperiod (8 days) at pH (5), temperature (30 oC), and shaking rate (150 rpm), apple pectin carbon source (2 %), and ammoniumphosphate as nitrogen source (0.2 gN/l). The positive impacts of utilizing the produced crude acid-pectinase in eco-friendlyscouring of various cotton knits as well as their subsequent bleaching and reactive dyeing have been confirmed. Additionally, the use of local resources for an acid pectinase production would encourage and promote local production of textile enzymesand their potential applications in Egyptian textile sector, taking in consideration efficiency, textile quality, environmental andeconomy concerns.

      • Flavobacterium columnare / Myxobolus tilapiae Concurrent Infection in the Earthen Pond Reared Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) during the Early Summer

Eissa, Alaa E.,Zaki, Manal M.,Aziz, A. Abdel Korean Society for Bioinformatics 2010 Interdisciplinary Bio Central (IBC) Vol.2 No.2

Flavobacterium columnare (F. columnare), the dermotropic Gram negative yellow pigmented bacteria was isolated from different sites of skin ulcerations in the Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) and Nile catfish (Clarias gariepinus) collected from an earthen pond located at an aquaculture station in Sharkiya Province, Lower Egypt during an acute episode of mass kills during the early summer of 2009. An acute infection with F. columnare was behind the emergent event of mass mortalities among both populations. Many of the Nile tilapias exhibited typical signs of hole - in- the head like lesions from which F. columnare together with the myxosporean spore, Myxobolus tilapiae (M. tilapiae) were retrieved. Most of the cohabitating infected Nile catfishes exhibited severe form of saddle back like ulcer. The identities of the retrieved isolates were confirmed using morphological, biochemical and molecular tools. The research lead us to conclude that the two diverse etiological agents (F. columnare and M. tilapiae) under the triggering effect of the abrupt change in the water quality measures (abrupt rise in the water temperature, ammonia, pH, sharp decrease in dissolved oxygen) have synergized together to induce the above mentioned pathology with the consequent reemergence of fish mass mortalities.

Enhancement of heavy metals recovery from aqueous solutions by cementation on a rotating cylinder using a stationary wiper

        M.S. Ahmed,T.M. Zewail,E-S.Z. El-Ashtoukhy,H.A. Farag,I.H. El Azab,F.A. Albatati,A.F. Al-Hossainy,M.Sh. Zoromba,M.H. Abdel-Aziz 한국공업화학회 2021 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.97 No.-

The goal of the present research is to study the impact of a stationary wiper almost touching a revolvingzinc solid cylinder on the rate of Cu+2 cementation. Initial Cu+2 ions concentration, speed of rotation, andthe effect of the presence and absence of a wiper were investigated. The degree of Cu+2 cementation wasstated in relation to the mass transfer coefficient which was valued under diverse circumstances. Thepresent study showed that the mass transfer coefficient accelerates as rotation speed and quantity of Cu+2increase. The presence of a wiper enhances the degree of Cu+2 cementation by an extent that varies from1.59 to 64% subject to the operational circumstances. The present mass transfer data have beeninterrelated by dimensionless equations. The importance of such relationships in the sizing and runningof rotating cylinders used for performing diffusion- restricted reactions is underlined.

Wall to liquid mass transport and diffusion controlled corrosion in fixed bed reactors

        M.H. Abdel-Aziz,M. Bassyouni,I.A.S. Mansour,A. Nagi 한국공업화학회 2014 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.20 No.5

The diffusion controlled corrosion at the inner wall of a fixed bed reactor was studied in terms of the wall to liquid mass transfer coefficient. Variables studied are solution flow rate, physical properties, and packing size and geometry. The effect of drag reducing polymers on the rate of mass transfer and on the rate of corrosion was studied. The presence of the drag reducing polymer decreased the rate of both mass transfer and corrosion by a factor ranging from 8.92% to 39.47%. All variables were correlated by dimensionless equations. Possible applications of these data in heat transfer were highlighted. 2013 The Korean Society of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry. Published by Elsevier B.V.

Removal of nitrates from water by electrocoagulation using a cell with horizontally oriented Al serpentine tube anode

        M.H. Abdel-Aziz,E-S.Z. El-Ashtoukhy,M.Sh. Zoromba,M. Bassyouni,G.H. Sedahmed 한국공업화학회 2020 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.82 No.-

In this work, removal of nitrates by electrocoagulation in a batch electrochemical cell with horizontallyoriented electrodes was studied, the anode was a horizontal Al serpentine tube whose inner surface canpotentially act as a built-in cooler to control the cell temperature, a H2 evolving Al plate cathode wasplaced beneath the anode at the cell bottom where the stirring action of H2 bubbles improve the mixingconditions at the anode. The effect of operating parameters, such as initial NO3 concentration, initial pHof the solution, applied current density, and NaCl concentration on the removal efficiency wasinvestigated. The electrical energy consumption of the cell was calculated at different operatingparameters in order to optimize the operating conditions. The removal efficiency of the cell reached 100%after 100 min. A kinetic model for the process was proposed and verified by the experimental data. Themerits of the present new cell which is self-stirred and contains a built-in heat transfer facility fortemperature control were highlighted. Importance of the present work for agriculture drainage waterand underground water remediation was pointed out.

        A Self-Consistent Semi-Analytical Model for AlGaAs/InGaAs PMHEMTs

Abdel Aziz, M.,El-Banna, M.,El-Sayed, M. The Institute of Electronics and Information Engin 2002 Journal of semiconductor technology and science Vol.2 No.1

A semi-analytical model based on exact numerical analysis of the 2DEG channel in pseudo-morphic HEMT (PMHEMT) is presented. The exactness of the model stems from solving both Schrodinger's wave equation and Poisson's equation simultaneously and self-consistently. The analytical modeling of the device terminal characteristics in relation to the charge control model has allowed a best fit with the geometrical and structural parameters of the device. The numerically obtained data for the charge control of the channel are best fitted to analytical expressions which render the problem analytical. The obtained good agreement between experimental and modeled current/voltage characteristics and small signal parameters has confirmed the validity of the model over a wide range of biasing voltages. The model has been used to compare both the performance and characteristics of a PMHEMT with a competetive HEMT. The comparison between the two devices has been made in terms of 2DEG density, transfer characteristics, transconductance, gate capacitance and unity current gain cut-off frequency. The results show that PMHEMT outperforms the conventional HEMT in all considered parameters.

Hall-Current Effects on MHD Flow of a Power-Law Fluid over a Rotating Disk

Abdel-Aziz . M. Salem 한국물리학회 2007 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.50 No.1I

The steady laminar flow of a power-law fluid in the presence of an axial uniform magnetic field is studied in the vicinity of a constantly rotating infinite disk. The Hall current effect is taken into consideration. The incompressible fluid driven by the rotating disk obeys the inelastic Ostwald-de Waele power-law model. The transformed governing equations in the present study were solved numerically by using the Runge-Kutta and Shooting method. Some of the results obtained for a special case of the problem are compared to the results published in a previous work and are found to be in excellent agreement. The effects of the magnetic field M, the Hall current m, and the power-law index n on the velocity profiles, the radial, the tangential skin frictions, and the axial inflow are presented graphically. One valuable important observation is that the effect of the power-law index n is to reduce the effect of both the magnetic field and the Hall current in the boundary-layer’s flow field.
