Amino-modified Mg-MOF-74: Synthesis, characterization and CO₂ adsorption performance

Based on the solvothermal method to synthesize Mg-MOF-74, the amino-functionalized Mg-MOF-nNH₂ was prepared through addition of amino-containing ligands. Physicochemical properties of Mg-MOF-nNH₂ materials were well characterized by Powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), Scanning electron microscope (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), N₂ adsorption/desorption isotherms (BET). The adsorption properties of the resulting materials were studied for CO₂. In all the samples, the micropore volume of Mg-MOF-1/8NH₂ was 0.46 ㎤ g<SUP>−1</SUP> and the specific surface area was 924.19㎡ g<SUP>−1</SUP>, the highest CO₂ saturated adsorption capacity was 3.9 mmol g<SUP>−1</SUP>, and the dynamic adsorption capacity was 1.27 mmol g<SUP>−1</SUP>. The adsorption processes agreed well with the Langmuir isotherm and Avrami model.
Detection and molecular characteristics of bovine rotavirus A in dairy calves in China

Background: Bovine group A rotavirus (BoRVA) is a major cause of severe gastroenteritis in newborn dairy calves. Only one study has investigated the G and P genotypes among dairy calves in a few regions of China, which were G6 and P[5]. Therefore, data on the prevalence and molecular characteristics of BoRVA in dairy calves in China remains limited. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the prevalence and molecular characteristics of BoRVA in dairy calves in China. Methods: 269 dairy calves diarrheic samples from 23 farms in six provinces in China were collected to detect BoRVA using reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction. Results: 71% of samples were determined to be BoRVA-positive. Two G genotypes (G6, G10) and two P genotypes (P[1], P[5]) were identified, and G6P[1] BoRVA was the predominant strain. Moreover, the VP7 and VP4 gene sequences of these dairy calf BoRVA strains revealed abundant genetic diversity. Interestingly, eight out of 17 complete G6 VP7 sequences were clustered into G6 lineage VI and analysis showed the strains were closely related to Chinese yak BoRVA strains. Conclusions: The results of this study show that BoRVA circulates widely among dairy calves in China, and the dominant genotype in circulation is G6P[1], first report on molecular characteristics of complete P[5] VP4 genes in chinese dairy calves. These results will help us to further understand the prevalence and genetic evolution of BoRVA among dairy calves in China and, thus, prevent the disease more effectively.

Plant P450s play an important role in plant response to environmental stimuli, especially to pathogen challenge, besides leading to the biosynthesis of secondary metabolites. In this work, a Verticillium dahliae-induced cDNA sequence was cloned from wild eggplant Solanum torvum and designated StoCYP77A2. StoCYP77A2 encodes a 511-amino acid peptide that shows sequence homology to the plant CYP77 family. StoCYP77A2 is expressed in a tissue-specific manner with the highest expression level in stem. The expression level of StoCYP77A2 was increased in wild eggplants which were infected with Verticillium dahlia. We expressed StoCYP77A2 in V. dahliae-sensitive tobacco, and the transgenic tobacco plants were more resistant to V. dahliae infection than the wild type. Protein extraction of transgenic tobacco showed strong antifungal activity against V. dahliae, indicating that StoCYP77A2 may be involved in the synthesis of some antimicrobial compounds. These results suggest that StoCYP77A2 plays a role in plant defense to V. dahliae infection.

Background A growing number of studies have shown that circular RNA (circRNA) is an important regulator molecule in cancer progression, but it has been poorly studied in difuse large b-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). Objective This study aimed to explore the role of circ_OTUD7A in DLBCL. Methods Relative expression levels of circ_OTUD7A, microRNA (miR)-431-5p and forkhead box P1 (FOXP1) were determined by quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR). The proliferation of cells was elevated by colony formation assay and MTT assay. Western blot (WB) analysis was employed to measure the protein levels of proliferation marker, epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) markers, cyclin marker, apoptosis markers and FOXP1. Moreover, the apoptosis, cell cycle process, migration and invasion of cells were detected using fow cytometry and transwell assay, respectively. In addition, the interaction between miR-431-5p and circ_OTUD7A or FOXP1 was confrmed by dual-luciferase reporter assay. Results Circ_OTUD7A was highly expressed in DLBCL, and its knockdown could inhibit DLBCL cell proliferation and metastasis, while promote cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. Similarly, FOXP1 also was upregulated in DLBCL, and its silencing could restrain the progression of DLBCL cells. Further experiments revealed that circ_OTUD7A could sponge miR431-5p and miR-431-5p could target FOXP1. MiR-431-5p inhibitor could reverse the suppressive efect of circ_OTUD7A silencing on DLBCL progression, and FOXP1 overexpression also could reverse the inhibitory efect of miR-431-5p mimic on DLBCL progression. Conclusion Circ_OTUD7A promoted the progression of DLBCL by regulating the miR-431-5p/FOXP1 axis, which suggested that circ_OTUD7A might function as an oncogene in DLBCL.
Study on the Cyclic Behavior of an UPPC Beam with an Energy Dissipator and a Conventional UPPC Beam

In this study, low reversed cyclic loading experiments were performed on an Unbonded Partially Prestressed Concrete (UPPC) beam with an energy dissipator and a conventional UPPC beam to investigate the seismic performance of the beams, including displacement restoration, energy dissipation capacity, ductility, and failure patterns. Studies have shown that UPPC beams with energy dissipators are superior to conventional UPPC beams in terms of displacement restoration, energy dissipation capacity, and ductility and are inferior to conventional UPPC beams in terms of failure patterns. The results of this investigation can help us to improve the poor energy dissipation capacity and lack of displacement restoration in UPPC beams. The contact relationship between the unbonded prestressed tendon and the concrete was simulated using the coupling interaction method, The hysteresis curve based on the calculations was close to the hysteresis curve obtained experimentally. The ultimate bearing capacity and ultimate displacement are highly similar.

A porous-carbon material UiO-66-C was prepared from metal–organic frameworks UiO-66 by carbonization in inert gas atmosphere. Physicochemical properties of UiO-66-C materials were well characterized by Powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), Scanning electron microscope (SEM), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), Raman spectrometer, N2 adsorption/desorption isotherms (BET), and the adsorption properties of the products were studied UiO-66-C has a high specific surface area up to 1974.17 m2/g. Besides, the adsorption capacity of tetracycline could reach 678.19 mg/g, the adsorption processes agreed well with the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and Langmuir isotherm model.

Optically active gels based on helical N-propargylamide polymers were prepared using a one-pot twostep methodology: the pre-formation of helical N-propargylamide copolymer (defined as N=N-HP) and the preparation of gels bearing the helical copolymers. To prepare N=N-HP, N-propargylamide M1, which contained -N=Nfunctional group, and M2, which provided helical polymer chains for the resulting copolymers, underwent copolymerizations in the presence of (nbd)Rh^+B^-(C_6H_5)_4 as a catalyst. -N=N- groups in N=N-HP acted as an initiator to induce the free radical polymerization of styrene, yielding the designed gels. Trimethylol propane triacrylate (TMPTA) was used to improve the cross-linking degree of the gels. The obtained gels were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy measurements. The gels showed high optically activity, resulting from the helical structures of the N-propargylamide polymer chains. Preferential adsorption towards (R)-(+)-1-phenylethylamine in the two enantiomers was observed in the obtained gels, demonstrating the potentials of such gels in chiral recognition and chiral resolution.
