Development of an efficient routing protocol is one of the major key challenges in the design of Mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). DSR reactive routing protocol is the most preferred routing protocol in MANETs due its capability to store already discovered routes in the node’s cache. In DSR routing protocol, in order to find a route to the destination, the source node broadcasts RREQ (Route Request) packets to its all neighbouring nodes and this broadcasting of RREQ packets results in more overhead. In this paper, we propose a multicasting technique to enhance the performance of DSR routing protocol and to reduce the broadcasting overhead. The performance analysis of DSR and enhanced DSR (EDSR) is carried out by varying number of nodes under different traffic conditions with different packet sizes and different network sizes. Also the performance analysis of DSR and enhanced DSR is carried out under different propagation models. The performance metrics used for the performance analysis of DSR and Enhanced DSR are Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR), Average End-to-End Delay, Throughput, Normalized Routing Load (NRL) and Energy Consumption.
A Secure Data Classification Model in Cloud Computing Using Machine Learning Approach

Cloud computing offers numerous benefits including scalability, availability and many services. But with its wide acceptance all over the globe, new risks and vulnerabilities have appeared too. Cloud computing provides facility of storing and accessing information and programs over the web without bothering the storage space on system. Storing the data on cloud eliminates one’s worries about space considerations, buying new storage equipment or managing their data, rather they are able to access their data any time from any place provided they have internet access. But the rising security problems have resisted the organizations from connecting with cloud computing completely. Hence security risks have appeared as the main disadvantage of cloud computing. This paper involves the efforts to analyze the security issues and then proposes a framework to address these security issues at the authentication and storage level in cloud computing. While addressing the security issues the first and the foremost thing is to classify what data needs security and what data needn't bother with security and hence data gets classified into two classes sensitive and non-sensitive. To achieve data classification, a data classification approach based on the confidentiality of data is proposed in this paper. Following that an efficient security mechanism has to be deployed by means of encryption, authentication, and authorization or by some other method to ensure the privacy of consumer’s data on cloud storage.

Performance Analysis of Propagation Structures on DSR Routing Protocol in Mobile Ad-hoc Networks

Propagation structure has a vital role in designing the Mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs). Propagation structure is employed for computing signal strength about each data packet at the destination. Propagation Structures in MANETs are characterized into three categories such as Free Space structure, Two-Ray Ground structure and Shadowing structure. Here in this paper, the effect of Two-Ray Ground propagation structure and Shadowing propagation structure on the performance of DSR routing protocol is conferred. Propagation Structure has a great impact on the simulation results. The simulation is accomplished using NS 2 simulator and the various Performance Attributes used for the evaluation of the performance of DSR protocol are Average Delay, Packet Delivery Ratio, Energy Consumption and Throughput.

This paper presents a detailed discussion of thermoelectric and electronic properties of newly designed Li-based Heusler compounds (LiScPtGe, LiYPtSn, LiYPdPb) using Boltzmann transport theory alongside the first-principles calculations. Our investigations predict that these materials exhibit band gaps 0.76 eV (for LiScPtGe), 0.67 (for LiYPtGe) and 0.21 eV (for LiYPdPb), respectively. All the reported materials are indirect band gap semiconductors; mechanical and dynamical stability is also confirmed. At 300 K, the lowest value of lattice thermal conductivity is observed in LiYPdPb (21.64 Wm-1 K-1), which is very small as compared to the other two materials. The perceived value of the figure of merit (ZT) is 0.61 (for LiScPtGe), 0.52 (for LiYPtSn) and 0.35 (for LiYPdPb) respectively, and probably ensure a considerable thermoelectric efficiency of these newly designed materials.

The key to development of barnase-barstar transgene based hybrid seed technology is the availability of tightly regulated tapetum specific promoter, as any leaky expression of the barnase gene leads to several unintended effects. In the present study, we used two different tapetum specific promoters i.e. promoter of the RTS gene isolated from rice cultivar IR64 and the OsG6b promoter from japonica rice cultivar Hayayuki to express the barnase gene in rice transgenic lines. While viable male sterile transgenic lines could not be obtained with RTS promoter we could develop single copy male sterile lines when the barnase gene was expressed under the OsG6b promoter.

Anatomical considerations of percutaneous transvenous mitral annuloplasty

Percutaneous transvenous mitral annuloplasty (PTMA) has evolved as a latest procedure for the treatment of functional mitral regurgitation. It reduces mitral valve annulus (MVA) size and increases valve leaflet coaptation via compression of coronary sinus (CS). Anatomical considerations for this procedure were elucidated in the present study. In 40 formalin fixed adult cadaveric human hearts, relation of the venous channel formed by CS and great cardiac vein (GCV) to MVA and the adjacent arteries was described, at 6 points by making longitudinal sections perpendicular to the plane of MVA, numbered 1–6 starting from CS ostium. CS/GCV formed a semicircular venous channel on the atrial side of MVA. Based on the distance of CS/GCV from MVA, two patterns were identified. In 37 hearts, the venous channel at point 2 was widely separated from the MVA compared to the two ends and in three hearts a nonconsistent pattern was observed. GCV crossed circumflex artery superficially. GCV or CS crossed the left marginal artery and ventricular branches of circumflex artery superficially in 17 and 23 hearts, respectively. As the venous channel was related more to the left atrial wall, PTMA devices probably exert an indirect traction on MVA. The arteries crossing deep to the venous channel may be compressed by PTMA device leading to myocardial ischemia. Knowledge of the spatial relations of MVA and a preoperative and postoperative angiogram may help to reduce such complications during PTMA.
