        2017년 7월 4일부터 6일까지 경상남도 거제시 거제도 일대를 김주필, 김대희, 지승환, 지성현, 최라미, 이영경 등 한국거미연구소 회원들이 주야로 채집한 결과, 총 23과 56속 75종이 조사 연구되어 이에 발표하는 바이다. 채집한 표본은 주필거미박물관에 보관하였다. From July 4 to 6 in 2017. Joo-Pil Kim, Dae-Hee Kim, Seung-Hwan Ji, Sung-Hyun Ji, Ra-Mi Choi, Yeong-Gyeong Lee, the members of The Arachnological Institute of Korea investigated the spiders in the whole area of Geoje city, Geoje-do, Gyeongsangnam-do and report 23 Family 56 Genus 75 Species of spiders. The collected spiders are placed (stored) in the Joo-Pil Spider museum.

        배추의 배축절편으로부터 캘러스와 뿌리 발생을 통한 안정적 형질전환

        '정상' 배추의 배축절편을 선발마커로서 paromomycin 저항 성유전자를 갖고 있는 pPTN290으로 각각 형질전환된 EHA101, LBA4404, GV3101균주와 공동배양한 후 갤러스유도배지에서 형질전환캘러스를 얻은 후, 뿌리유도배지에서 부정근을 그리고 신초유도배지에서 신초를 각각 순차적으로 유도하였다. 형질전환캘러스를 얻은 후, 뿌리유도배지에서 부정근을 그리고 신초유도배지에서 신초를 가각 순차적으로 유도하였다. 형질전환캘러스 형성은 Agrobacterium균주에 따라 차이가 있었으며, 특히 EHA101균주에 공동배양된 배축절편으로부터 최대 6.1%까지 얻어졌다. 또한 각각의 형질전환캘러스 클론으로부터 형질전환 부정근과 신초 발생은 EHA101균주에서 60.7%와 38.2%, LBA4404에서 8.3%와 0%, GV3101에서 20.5%와 85.7%까지 각각 얻을 수 있었다. 형질전환식물체는 특별한 형태적 이상 없이 온실에서 정상적으로 자라 $T_{2}$종자를 얻을 수 있었다. GUS방법으로 7개의 후대 유식물체를 분석한 결과 gus유전자가 안정적으로 발현하고 있음을 확인하였고, 배추 genome에 single 또는 multiple copy로 전달되고 있음을 추측할 수 있었다. Hypocotyl explants of Chinese cabbage (cvs. "Jeong Sang") produced transgenic calli on callus induction medium (MS salt, B5 vitamin, 5 mg/L acetosyringone, 1 mg/L 2,4-D, 3% sucrose, 400 mg/L cefotaxime, 100 mg/L paromomycin, pH 5.8) after cocultivation with strains of Agrobacterium tumefaciens (EHA101, LBA4404, GV3101) harboring the pPTN290 containing paromomycin-resistance gene as a selectable marker, and then they transferred to root induction medium (1/2MS salt, MS vitamins, 2% sucrose, 100 mg/L paromomycin, 100 mg/L cefotaxime, pH 5.8) and shoot induction medium (MS salt, B5 vitamin, 4 mg/L $AgNO_3$, 4 mg/L 6-benzyladenine, 3 mg/L alpha-naphthaleneacetic acid, 100 mg/L paromomycin, 100 mg/L cefotaxime, 3% sucrose, pH 5.8) in order. There was a significant difference in the frequency of transgenic calli depending on Agrobacterium strains. In particular, the highest frequency (6.1%) of transgenic calli was obtained from the hypocotyls cocultivated with EHA101 strains. Also, the frequency (%) of transgenic root and plants from each transgenic callus clone were obtained with 60.7% and 38.2% in EHA101, with 8.3% and 0% in LBA4404, with 20.5% and 85.7% in GV3101 strains, respectively. They were grown to maturity in a greenhouse and normally produced $T_2$ seeds. GUS histochemical assay for progeny ($T_2$) revealed that the transgenes was expressed in the plant genome, and progeny analysis from 7 independent transgenic events demonstrated that the transformants transmitted the transgene as a single or multiple functional locus.

      • Performance of NIR-Mediated Antibacterial Continuous Flow Microreactors Prepared by Mussel-Inspired Immobilization of Cs<sub>0.33</sub>WO<sub>3</sub> Photothermal Agents

        <P>An antibacterial continuous flow microreactor was successfully prepared by sequential mussel-inspired surface engineering of microchannels by using catechol-grafted poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone) and immobilization of near-infrared active Cs0.233WO3 nanoparticles inside the polydirnethylsiloxane(PDMS)-based microreactors. Excellent photho-thermal antibacterial acitivity over 99.9% was accomplished toward Gram-positive and-negative bacteria upon near-infrared irradiation during continuous operation up to 30 days. This was achieved without releasing Cs0.33WO3 nanoparticles from the surface of the microchannels, confirming the robust immobilization of photothermal agents through the mussel-inspired chemistry. The cleaning of used microreactors was easily attainable by simple acid treatment to release immobilized photothermal agents from the surface of the microchannels, enabling efficient recycling of used microreactors.</P>

      • Fabrication, characterization and photocatalytic performance of Fe-doped TiO<sub>2</sub>nanotube composite for efficient degradation of water pollutants

        <P>Pure TiO2 nanotube and Fe-doped TiO2 nanotube composite were fabricated by the electrochemical anodic oxidation process and the impregnating-calcination method, respectively. The structural and spectral properties were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer, X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, photoluminescence, and UV-vis spectrum. These results showed that Fe was effectively deposited on the surface of TiO2 nanotube. It is demonstrated that the Fe-doped TiO2 nanotube composite can inhibit the recombination of electron-hole pairs and enhance the light harvesting ability. The photocatalytic activity of Fe-doped TiO2 nanotube composite under UV irradiation was examined in terms of color and UV-vis absorbance for the degradation of methyl orange. The photocatalytic performance of UV-C irradiation in presence of Fe-doped TiO2 nanotube composite increased obviously for the removal efficiency of color and UV-vis absorbance compared to that of UV-A irradiation, and the reaction rate constant was about 6.8 times faster than that of UV-A irradiation. This can be ascribed to the effective separation of the photo-generated charge carriers.</P>

        Nano Si embedded SiO<sub>x</sub>-Nb<sub>2</sub>O<sub>5</sub>-C composite as reversible lithium storage materials

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>This study reports a simple and effective method for preparing nanocrystalline Si embedded carbon composites as a high-capacity anode material for Li-ion batteries. Micron-sized Si and Nb<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>5</SUB> powders were used as starting materials for high-energy mechanical milling (HEMM) process. During the HEMM operation, Si particles obtained oxygen from Nb<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>5</SUB>; the nanocrystalline Si embedded SiO<SUB>x</SUB> phase was simultaneously created; and commmercial monoclinic Nb<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>5</SUB> was also transformed to orthorhombic Nb<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>5</SUB> with partial reduction. Results show that a nano Si embedded SiO<SUB>x</SUB>-niobium oxides-carbon composite was successfully synthesized. Material characterization of the composite was performed by X-ray diffraction analysis, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and electron microscopies. Electrochemical test results demonstrate that the composite electrode has a greatly enhanced performance with a reversible capacity of about 800 mAh g<SUP>−1</SUP> and excellent capacity retention of up to 200 cycles. This improvement can be attributed to the in-situ formation of the nanocrytalline Si embedded silicon suboxide phase with niobium oxides, which is dispersed in carbon matrix.         Physical properties and geoacoustic provinces of surficial sediments in the southwestern part of the Ulleung Basin in the East Sea

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>A total of 157 piston and box core samples were collected and analyzed to characterize physical properties and geoacoustic provinces of surficial sediments in the southwestern part of the Ulleung Basin in the East Sea. The results and distribution patterns of surficial sediment texture, physical and acoustic properties reflect well the sedimentary environment like distribution and composition of sediment in the study area. The inner shelf and basin slope in this study are dominated by fine-grained sediments and show high porosity and water content, with low bulk density and velocity as well. The trough of the Korea Strait and outer shelf, which is composed of coarse-grained sediments, shows low porosity and water content and high bulk density and velocity. Based on <I>in-situ</I> velocity and sediment properties, the study area is divided into five provinces: (1) Province IA is hemi-pelagic mud partially mixed with intermittent sandy sediments which are derived from the outer shelf due to slide/slump or mass flows (<I>in-situ</I> velocity: 1445 m/s, mean grain size: 8.4Φ, porosity: 84%, and bulk density: 1.24 g/cm<SUP>3</SUP>), (2) Province IB is covered with muddy sediments that were deposited during the Holocene (<I>in-situ</I> velocity: 1445 m/s, mean grain size: 7.9Φ, porosity: 78%, and bulk density: 1.35 g/cm<SUP>3</SUP>), (3) Province II is marked by mixed recent and relict sediments (<I>in-situ</I> velocity: 1477 m/s, mean grain size: 6.1Φ, porosity: 68%, and bulk density: 1.53 g/cm<SUP>3</SUP>), (4) Province III is dominated by coarse-grained relict sediments formed during the Pleistocene (<I>in-situ</I> velocity: 1564 m/s, mean grain size: 3.8Φ, porosity: 54%, and bulk density: 1.77 g/cm<SUP>3</SUP>), and (5) Province IV consists of coarser sediments than Province III (<I>in-situ</I> velocity: 1671 m/s, mean grain size: 3.0Φ, porosity: 46%, and bulk density: 1.91 g/cm<SUP>3</SUP>). The compressional wave velocity, mean grain size, and bulk density increase from Province IA to Province IV, whereas the porosity and water content decrease from Province IA to Province IV. Variability of the physical and acoustic properties tends to follow the general trend of the mean grain size. The classification of each province using the <I>in-situ</I> velocity corrected with the temperature and pressure provides a better reflection of the sediment properties and sedimentary environment.</P>

      • Ideal Blood Pressure in Patients With Atrial Fibrillation

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P><B>Background</B></P> <P>The 2017 American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association (ACC/AHA) Guideline for High Blood Pressure in Adults redefined hypertension as systolic blood pressure (BP) ≥130 mm Hg or diastolic BP ≥80 mm Hg. The optimal BP for patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) is uncertain.</P> <P><B>Objectives</B></P> <P>The goal of this study was to investigate the impacts of the 2017 ACC/AHA guideline and to determine the ideal BP threshold for the management of high BP in patients with AF.</P> <P><B>Methods</B></P> <P>This study analyzed data for 298,374 Korean adults with oral anticoagulant–naive, nonvalvular AF obtained from the National Health Insurance Service database from 2005 to 2015.</P> <P><B>Results</B></P> <P>According to the Seventh Report of the Joint National Committee on Prevention, Detection, Evaluation and Treatment of High Blood Pressure guideline, 62.2% of the individuals in our sample had hypertension. After applying the 2017 ACC/AHA guideline, 79.4% had hypertension, including 17.2% with newly redefined hypertension (130 to 139/80 to 89 mm Hg). Those with newly redefined hypertension had greater risks of major cardiovascular events (hazard ratio: 1.07; 95% confidence interval: 1.04 to 1.10; p < 0.001), ischemic stroke, intracranial hemorrhage, and heart failure admission, compared with nonhypertensive patients (<130/80 mm Hg). Among patients with AF undergoing hypertension treatment, patients with BP ≥130/80 mm Hg or <120/80 mm Hg were at significantly higher risks of major cardiovascular events than patients with BP of 120 to 129/<80 mm Hg.</P> <P><B>Conclusions</B></P> <P>Patients with AF and newly redefined hypertension according to the 2017 ACC/AHA guideline were at higher risk of major cardiovascular events, suggesting that the new BP threshold is beneficial for timely diagnosis and intervention. BP of 120 to 129/<80 mm Hg was the optimal BP treatment target for patients with AF undergoing hypertension treatment.</P> <P><B>Central Illustration</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

        Schottky Barrier Tunnel Field-Effect Transistor using Spacer Technique

        In order to overcome small current drivability of a tunneling field-effect transistor (TFET), a TFET using Schottky barrier (SBTFET) is proposed. The proposed device has a metal source region unlike the conventional TFET. In addition, dopant segregation technology between the source and channel region is applied to reduce tunneling resistance. For TFET fabrication, spacer technique is adopted to enable self-aligned process because the SBTFET consists of source and drain with different types. Also the control device which has a doped source region is made to compare the electrical characteristics with those of the SBTFET. From the measured results, the SBTFET shows better on/off switching property than the control device. The observed drive current is larger than those of the previously reported TFET. Also, short-channel effects (SCEs) are investigated through the comparison of electrical characteristics between the long- and short-channel SBTFET.
