<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>A nature park in an urban area, which generally includes environmentally valuable natural landscape such as forests, mountains, rivers, and beaches, provides valuable benefits for the public such as recreational opportunities and an aesthetic landscape. However, residents near nature parks could be more vulnerable to natural disasters like floods, tsunamis, and landslides. In order to understand the trade-off between the amenity and hazard effects of nature parks, this study explores the case of the Woomyeon Nature Park (WNP) in Seoul, Korea, which experienced a catastrophic landslide disaster in 2011. The hazard and amenity effects of the WNP before and after a landslide event are analyzed using a difference-in-difference approach with a random coefficient model. The results show that the amenity effect of the WNP has continued after the landslide disaster in apartment complexes near the WNP, but its housing market premiums have fallen by up to 11.3% since the event due to the risk of landslide. The existence of the WNP hazard effect underlines the importance of disaster prevention efforts in urban open space design and management.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> In Korea, a mountain-type urban nature park increases nearby housing values as a place for leisure and recreation. </LI> <LI> Landslide hazard started to have a negative effect on housing values after the massive landslide event in Woomyeon Nature Park. </LI> <LI> A trade-off between the amenity and hazard effects of urban open spaces exists. </LI> <LI> Disaster prevention efforts in urban open spaces should be combined with landscape and urban planning. </LI> </UL> </P>

본 논문에서는 일반 가정용 전원으로 친환경 차량의 배터리를 충전할 수 있는 On-board charger를 위한 단일단 능동클램프 하프브리지 컨버터를 제안한다. 제안하는 컨버터는 4개의 스위칭 소자를 가지며 전 듀티영역에서 ZVS가 성취되므로 스위칭 주파수를 높일 수 있다. 시뮬레이션을 통하여 타당성 및 성능을 검증하였다.

<P>Solid-state <SUP>13</SUP>C nuclear magnetic resonance (<SUP>13</SUP>C-SSNMR) revealed significant differences in the chemical shift of specific carbon atoms between two fluconazole polymorphs, reflecting a change in molecular conformation. A single resonance signal without splitting was observed in the spectrum of anhydrate form II, while the spectrum of anhydrate form I showed signals with splitting, indicating the presence of two dissimilar molecular conformations in the unit cell of anhydrate form I. The Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) and Raman spectra associated with the triazole group, the 2,4-difluorobenzyl group, and the propane backbone provided also evidence of structural differences between forms I and II accompanying with <SUP>13</SUP>C-SSNMR. <SUP>1</SUP>H <I>T</I><SUB>1</SUB> relaxation times, measured using saturation recovery experiments, showed that the metastable anhydrate form II was more mobile than the stable form I. The solubility and intrinsic dissolution tests showed that the anhydrate form II was more soluble and dissolved faster than the anhydrate form I.</P>
First Principles Approach to Analyze Defect-induced Multiphonon Transition at the Si-SiO₂ Interface

The hole capture coefficients of defects through the non-radiative multiphonon emission process are calculated by using the first principle approach. Defects in the silicon bulk and the Si-SiO₂ interface are considered in the calculation. From the defect energy level and the phonon modes, which are calculated by using the density functional theory code, the transition rate is rigorously evaluated. The calculated hole capture parameters of the defect states exhibit physically reasonable behaviors within smaller magnitudes.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of skill and distance factors on CoP (Center of pressure) and CoM (Center of mass) during golf putting. Method: 38 golfers were participated in this study. 8 motion capture cameras (250 Hz) and 2 force plates (1,000 Hz) were used to collect CoP and CoM during 2 m and 3 m of distance golf putting. To identify main effect and interaction effect, it was performed Two-Way ANOVA at a significant level of a .05. Results: In the novice group, CoP distance was significantly difference in the A/P direction and main effect between skill level and distance. Both groups indicated that CoP distance was significantly different and main effect between skill level and distance in the M/L direction. Finally, both groups showed that CoM was significantly different and main effect between skill level and distance in the M/L direction. Conclusion: Therefore, novice golfers are expected to be able to perform more accurate and proper putting exercise through the practice of minimizing the center of mass(CoM) and center of pressure (CoP) in the M/L direction, which is the pendulum movement of the putter head.
Effective Delivery of Exogenous Compounds to the Optic Nerve by Intravitreal Injection of Liposome

Purpose: To improve the treatment efficiency of optic nerve diseases by delivering therapeutic materials to the optic nerve directly. Methods: We tried to optimize liposomal composition to deliver a payload to the optic nerve efficiently when it is injected intravitreally. After loading dexamethasone into this liposome, we tested the therapeutic effect of liposomes in this treatment using a murine model of ischemic optic neuropathy. Results: Our optimized liposome can deliver its payload to the optic nerve more efficiently than other tested compositions. Moreover, dexamethasone-loaded liposomes had a significant therapeutic effect in a murine model of ischemic optic neuropathy. Conclusions: Here, we demonstrate the optimal composition of liposomes that could efficiently deliver intravitreally injected exogenous compounds to the optic nerve. We expect that the intravitreal injection of liposomes with the suggested composition would improve the delivery efficacy of therapeutic compounds to the optic nerve.
Simulation Study of Enhancement Mode Multi-Gate Vertical Gallium Oxide MOSFETs

<P>In this study, the state-of-the-art vertical gallium oxide MOSFET with the fin shaped source is numerically investigated. With the simulation environment, whose results for the electrical characteristics are in close agreement with the available experimental results, the impact of the fin shape is studied. It is found that a rectangular fin with a height of 1.0 μ<I>m</I> and a width of 0.3 μ<I>m</I> can give a low on-resistance per unit area and a low drain-induced barrier lowering (DIBL) simultaneously. Moreover, the tapered fins are simulated to estimate the sensitivity of the on-resistance, the DIBL, and the subthreshold slope.</P>

The β -Ga₂O₃ (beta-gallium oxide) is one of the most promising candidate materials for the future power and RF (radio frequency) devices. The Al₂O₃ (aluminum oxide) is widely adopted as the gate dielectric layer, which is mandatory for developing the Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor (MOSFET) based on Ga₂O₃. Therefore, the theoretical investigation on the properties of the Al₂O₃/ β -Ga O interface is required. We have generated several atomistic models for the Al₂O₃ / β -Ga₂O₃ interface, whose structural parameters are consistent with the experimental findings. From the electronic band structure based on the density-functional theory (DFT) calculation, it is confirmed that the generated interface structures are physically stable. The band offsets between the Ga₂O₃ channel and the Al₂O₃ dielectric layer are calculated for various interface structures. For both the conduction band and the valence band, the Al₂O₃ / β -Ga₂O₃ interface provides sufficiently large band offsets, which makes it attractive for the MOSFET application. The point defects in the interface structure play a critical role in determining the device characteristics. The formation energies and transition levels of various point defects are calculated by using the DFT. It is found that the Ga-, O-, and Al- vacancies have the energy levels close to the conduction band minimum. It is expected that those vacancy defects act as the electron traps at the interface.
