        Intended Virtuality and Spontaneous Interactivity

        “The Feather Series” is a series of large-scale 3D lenticular works of Jong Soo Kwon. In Kwon’s work, he aimed for virtuality of Korean traditional spaces by expressing them using a 3D lenticular technology. One of the main goals of the 3D lenticular technology is to emphasize reality and the presence of objects, but Kwon applied this with a reverse twist. Moreover, when viewers see the lenticular image in a limited space, e.g., a white cube of galleries, the viewers can feel as if the painting follows their eyes, which creates a sense of interaction. Using a series of artworks using current technology, Kwon paradoxically argued that artists should pay closer attention to their own culture and tradition rather than focusing on the latest trends.

        A study of short and long fatigue crack growth has been carried out on 7075-Al and 7075-Al-SiC particle reinforced composite materials. The addition of particulate reinforcement to 7075-Al matrices caused an increase in modulus while strength and ductility decrease. In the heavily reinforced composities, 7075Al-25% SiCp, short fatigue crack iniation was associated with residual porosity caused by incomplete consolidation in regions of high particulate density. Short fatigue crack growth data ere generated for 7075Al-25% SiCp at 290 MPa < σmax< 371 Mpa. The addition of SiC particulate reinforcement did not cause significant differences in short crack growth rates and independant of stress level. Evidence to support a mechanism of crack growth consisting of crack tip blunting following by shear bend cracking has been presented, as a result of In Situ SEM examination of crack tips at high resolution. Long and short crack growth occurring at the particle/matrix interface.

      • 접합면 균열의 인성과 균열선단 주위의 소성역의 변화

        Interfacial crack problems between fibers and matrix in composite materials were discussed. From the series of mixed mode crack initiation experiments, it could be seen that there was a large increase in toughness with shear components. In this study to show the increase of toughness due to the increase of shear component in mode-mixity, effects of plastic zone on interfacial crack is considered and represented the function of mode-mixity. Variation of plastic zone is investigated using finite element method on wide-ranged mode-mixity. There was a similarity between the numerical and experimental results. Possible cause of the increase in toughness was discussed by considering the effect of plastic zone near crack tip.

      • 鋼管圓周溶接部의 溶接殘留應力 分布에 對한 考察

        Stress due to circumferential V-butt welds, made with six passes in 150mm O.D., 10mm wall thickness cylindrical Cr-Mo alloy pipe, were determined by Sachs boring-out method. The effect of residual stress relief procedures upon to magnitude of stresses and distributions in weld, were investigated. 1. The axial stresses in the weld were founded to be tensile at the innersurface and compressive at the outersurface with maximum compressive stress occurring a short distance below the outersusface. 2. The effect of residual relief stresses, residual stress distributions are same but magnitude is very small by low yielding strength, analyzing time and relaxation of creep. 3. The hardness of welding line were investigated. The stress relief procedures upon to value of hardness is less then received welding. Resulting, magnitude of residual stresses in annealing pipe were founded small value.

        A worm and worm gear are used to connect nonparallel, shafts and the gear reduction is generally quite large. But worm and worm gear have very large slip ratio on the tooth surface. It is one of important factor that they has different direction between component of contact line and normal velocity. In this paper, the author has considered a relation of contact angle (?) and wear value on the tooth surface. The expriment are carried out cylinder and circular plate in lubricant condition. Exprimental results are as follows; 1) The wear value of contact angle ?=-30˚is twice that of ?=90˚ 2) The wear value is highest at contact angle (?) about 6˚ any other point.

        The stress distribution in the vicinity of the crack tip in Fracture Mechanics ordinary indicated by stress intensity factors K which have been proposed by Irwin. In the analysis of stress intensity factors, there are many theoretical and experimental method. The stress analysis in photoelastic techniqure is usually done by using difference of the principal isochromatic fringe patterns. In this paper, by the use of Teflon Molding Technique for photoelastic experiment, determination of stress intensity factor of circular disk with an Arc-crack which is subjected to concentrated load have been studied variation of deflected crack angle. As the result, stress intensity factor at crack tip with circular Arc-crack can be obtain the from figure 11 and figure 12.

        스테인리스강 용접부의 잔류응력이 피로특성에 미치는 영향

        In the weldments, the crack propagation rate is changed due to the residual stress. The crack propagation rate is high in the region with the residual stress. However it shows the same behavior with the base metal in the region that does not include the residual stress. The fatigue crack growth rate for the material with residual stresses can be predicted more precisely by using the effective stress ratio. The difference between experimental results and prediction results seems to be due to the redistribution of the residual stresses and microstructural change.

      • 高眞空下에서 브롬화벤질류와 이소퀴놀린과의 親核性 置換反應에 관한 速度論的 硏究

        전기전도도법에 의해 아세토니트릴 용매내에서 브롬화벤질류(p-CH₃, p-H, p-NO₂)와 isoquinoline과의 반응을 고진공하에서 온도(15, 20, 25℃)변화에 따라 속도론적으로 연구하였다. 이때 반응속도상수는 온도가 증가함에 따라 증가하였으며, 또한 기질에 전자 주게 치환체(p-CH₃)가 치환된 경우 증가하였다. 이들 반응속도상수로 부터 활성화에너지(Ea), 활성화엔탈피(???), 활성화엔트로피(???), 활성화자유에너지(???) 및 Hammett 반응상수 ρ를 구하였으며, 이러한 속도론적 연구로 부터 전반적인 반응메카니즘은 dissociative ??? 반응으로 진행됨을 알 수 있었다. Rate of reactions of p-substituted benzyl bromides(p-CH₃, p-H, p-NO₂) with isoquinoline have been measured by conductivity method in acetonitrile, which was determined under vapor pressure of the solution obtained by using high vacuum apparatus, by kinetic studies at several temperatures. The rate constants are increased as a function of temperatures and are further increased by introducing the electron donating substituents in substrates. The activation energies (Ea), activation parameters(???,???,???)and Hammett ρ values are calculated from the rate constants and, generally, the results of these studies show a greater degree of bond breaking than bond formation in the transition state.

      • Urechis unicinctus 난세포의 인공수정에 의한 구조적 변화

        The artificial insemination in Urechis unicinctus oocyte revealed some fine structural changes under electron microscope. The degradation of surface coat, retraction of microvilli, fusion of cortical granules with oocyte membrane are the events of fine structural changes after the fertilization. At fertilization, the cortical granules of oocyte are transported from the inner cortex toward oocyte membrane. After the fusion, the contents of cortical granules are discharged into the perivitelline space, the extracelluar space which in future develops into fertilization membrane. There are some indications that the fertilization occur on the microvillous tip in U. uicinctus. Under light microscope, one of the evidences on the fertilization was the formation of fertilization cone, which seemed to sperm entry site, on membrane of round mature oocyte.

      • 2相 스테인리스鋼 熔接部의 後熱處理 溫度의 影響

        An experimental study was performed to investigate the metallurgical characteristics of weldment for duplex stainless steel. Considering that duplex stainless steel in a composite structure of α and γ phase, it can be found that mechanical variables of weldment structure are different from base metal by weld cycle, weld deformation and residual stress through weld input heat, it has some problems because it will be easily brittle through slow cooling by post weld heat treatment. It was observed the embrittlement phenomenon in high ferrite stainless steel and after impact test to identify the fracture characteristics of the weldment, the obserbed energy was lowest in about 1073K. Therefore, it should be avoided the post weld heat treatment about those temperature. The result could be anticipated that the range of γ-phase's precipitation of Widmanstatten, which occured in heat affected zone as changing microstructure by the variation of weld heat input.
