ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) is a transmission technique for the B-lSDN(Broadband Integrated Service Digital Network). Congestion problems are unavoidable in the ATM networks, since various traffic typos coexist in the networks. The preventive congestion control algorithm is widely used for the real time traffics such as voice and video. The reactive congestion control algorithm works well for the non-real time traffic within a short distance. A mixed traffic control algorithm is proposed, which works either preventively or reactively based on traffic types. The proposed algorithm sets a high and low threshold value at the output buffers and modifies the EPRCA(Enhanced Proportion Rate Control Algorithm) to control loss-sensitive cells. Delay-sensitive cells are handled by the priority control and the UPC(Usage Parameter Control) algorithm. The performance analysis shows that the proposed traffic control algorithm works well for both the VBR(Variab1e Bit Rate) and ABR(Available Bit Rate) traffic with small buffers

<P>Insulin is a polypeptide hormone which is produced by the beta-cell of pancreas and controls the blood glucose level in the human body. Enzymatic modification of human proinsulin using trypsin and carboxypeptidase B generally causes high accumulation of insulin derivatives, leading to more complicated purification processes. A simple method including citraconylation and decitraconylation in the enzymatic modification process was developed for the reduction of a major derivative, des-threonine human insulin. Addition of 3.0 g citraconic anhydride per g protein into the reaction solution led to the citraconylation of lysine residues in human proinsulin and reduction of relative des-threonine insulin content from 13.5 to 1.0%. After the enzymatic hydrolysis of the citraconylated proinsulin, 100% of lysine residues can be decitraconylated and restored by adjusting pH to 2-3 at 25 degrees C. Combination of hydrogen peroxide addition and citraconylation of proinsulin expressed in recombinant Escherichia coli remarkably improved the conversion yield of insulin from 52.7 to 77.7%. Consequently, citraconylation of lysine residues blocked the unexpected cleavage of human proinsulin by trypsin, minimized the formation of des-threonine insulin and hence increased the production yield of active insulin.</P>

This research measures the Poisson`s ratio which give us some informations for the physical characteristics of the materials by Time Average-Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry(TA-ESPI). In order to find out the Poisson`s ratio, this research uses Euler-Bernoulli equation of cantilever beam (by TA-ESPI). The TA-ESPI technique has been developed as a common measurement method for vibration mode visualization and surface displacement. A harmonically vibrating object has the maximum out-of-plane displacement at a resonance frequency. The resonance frequency depends on material, size, thickness and the boundary condition. The proposed technique for measurement of the Poisson`s ratio in sheet materials are expected to be used as the advanced non-destructive testing method with the merits of time-saving and non-contact in the MEMS field.
