Corrosion Cracking Process of Reinforced Concrete under the Coupled Effects of Chloride and Fatigue Loading

        Jiansheng Shen,Junzhe Liu,Yidong Xu,Kanghao Jia,Fangyu Wu,Wei Chen,Dayong Zhu 대한토목학회 2021 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.25 No.9

To study the corrosion cracking process of reinforced concrete under the combined effects of chloride and fatigue loading, the constan-current and dry-wet cycle accelerated corrosion method was used to corrosion the specimens under different stress levels for different time. The quality loss of reinforcement, the composition of corrosion products and the cracking of concrete are analyzed from the macro, micro and micro scales, and to obtain the spatial distribution as well as microscopic characteristics of corrosion products of the reinforcement bar under coupling conditions. Additionally, a model of steel rust cracking under the coupled action of chloride and fatigue loading is established. The results show that: under the same corrosion time, the concrete cracking and steel corrosion degree become more serious with the increase of stress level. The greater the stress level, the earlier corrosion occurs and the more corrosion products are, Moreover, due to the fatigue load, the concrete on the upper side of the steel bar has rust expansion cracks earlier than the lower side.

      • A new dynamic risk evaluation model infuzzy AHP based engineering project life-cycle

Yu Xiaozhong,Chen Jiansheng 인하대학교 정석물류통상연구원 2009 인하대학교 정석물류통상연구원 학술대회 Vol.2009 No.10

Each project contains some degree of risk and it is required to be aware of these risks and to develop the necessary reasonable risk evaluation model to get the exact risk value of the project. Becausej projects" risks are multidimensional, changing during the project life-cycle, and can not be describled in crisp numbers, they must be evaluated by using multi-criteria decision-making method which can consider the time changing and interval numbers. The aim of this article is to provide an evaluation tool to evaluate the project risks under incomplete and vague information more exact than the present models. The article proposes a improved dynamic fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (AHP) model basing on project life-cycle, and the new model is a suitable and practical way of evaluating project risks.

Sox12 Is a Cancer Stem-Like Cell Marker in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

        Song Zou,Chen Wang,Jiansheng Liu,Qun Wang,Dongdong Zhang,Shengnan Zhu,Shengyuan Xu,Mafei Kang,Shaozhong He 한국분자세포생물학회 2017 Molecules and cells Vol.40 No.11

Recent studies on molecular carcinogenesis suggest that the chemo-resistance of some cancers is largely due to presence of cancer stem cells (CSCs), which affect the chemotherapy outcome for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, currently no consensus on a CSC phenotype in HCC has been obtained. Here, we examined Sox12 as a novel CSC marker in HCC. Sox12+ versus Sox12- cells were purified from HCC cell lines. The Sox12+ cells were compared with Sox12- HCC cells for tumor sphere formation, chemo-resistance, tumor formation after serial adoptive transplantations in nude mice, and the frequency of developing distal metastasis. We found that compared to Sox12- HCC cells, Sox12+ HCC cells generated significantly more tumor spheres in culture, were more chemo-resistant to cisplatin, were detected in circulation more frequently, and formed distal tumor more frequently. Moreover, Sox12 ap-peared to functionally contribute to the stemness of HCC cells. Thus, we conclude that Sox12 may be a novel marker for enriching CSCs in HCC.

Laboratory Investigation of Stress State and Grain Composition Affecting Internal Erosion in Soils Containing a Suspended Cut-off Wall

        Shuang Wang,Jiansheng Chen,Jinchang Sheng,Yulong Luo 대한토목학회 2016 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.20 No.4

Cut-off walls have been widely used to control seepage in dams and their foundations for over 100 years. The soil at the bottom of a cut-off wall is usually under complex stress and composed of various particles with different contents. In this study, the effects of the stress state and grain composition on the evolution of internal erosion were investigated in sandy gravel foundations containing a suspended cut-off wall. The following observations were made based on the experimental results: (1) The fine-particle content of the soil sample considerably influences the evolution of internal erosion. For high fine-particle content, particles are likely to clog under the downward flow; however, for low fine-particle content, the downward flow assists the migration of fine particles. (2) Deviatoric stress considerably influences the soil structure. The soil sample is compressed under low deviatoric stress; however, it undergoes dilatancy under high deviatoric stress. (3) Dilatant behavior is also controlled by confining stress. The higher the confining stress, the higher is the deviatoric stress applied on the soil sample, which produces dilatancy, and the smaller is the volumetric expansion. The obtained results will enhance the understanding of the progression mechanism of internal erosion around suspended cut-off walls.

No-reference Image Quality Assessment With A Gradient-induced Dictionary

( Leida Li ),( Dong Wu ),( Jinjian Wu ),( Jiansheng Qian ),( Beijing Chen ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2016 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.10 No.1

Image distortions are typically characterized by degradations of structures. Dictionaries learned from natural images can capture the underlying structures in images, which are important for image quality assessment (IQA). This paper presents a general-purpose no-reference image quality metric using a GRadient-Induced Dictionary (GRID). A dictionary is first constructed based on gradients of natural images using K-means clustering. Then image features are extracted using the dictionary based on Euclidean-norm coding and max-pooling. A distortion classification model and several distortion-specific quality regression models are trained using the support vector machine (SVM) by combining image features with distortion types and subjective scores, respectively. To evaluate the quality of a test image, the distortion classification model is used to determine the probabilities that the image belongs to different kinds of distortions, while the regression models are used to predict the corresponding distortion-specific quality scores. Finally, an overall quality score is computed as the probability-weighted distortion-specific quality scores. The proposed metric can evaluate image quality accurately and efficiently using a small dictionary. The performance of the proposed method is verified on public image quality databases. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed metric can generate quality scores highly consistent with human perception, and it outperforms the state-of-the-arts.

Experimental and Modeling Studies on the Sorption Breakthrough Behaviors of Butanol from Aqueous Solution in a Fixed-bed of KA-I Resin

        Xiaoqing Lin,Renjie Li,Qingshi Wen,Jinglan Wu,Jiansheng Fan,Xiaohong Jin,Wenbin Qian,Dong Liu,Xiaochun Chen,Yong Chen,Jingjing Xie,Jianxin Bai,Han-Jie Ying 한국생물공학회 2013 Biotechnology and Bioprocess Engineering Vol.18 No.2

Removal of biobutanol from acetone-butanolethanol (ABE) fermentation broth can be achieved by fixed-bed sorption by means of KA-I resin, and the relevant breakthrough curves would provide much valuable information to help design a continuous fixed-bed sorption process in field application. In the present study, the effects of several important design parameters, i.e., initial butanol concentration (Cf: 3.0 ~ 30.0 g/L), inlet flow rate (Qf: 0.5~ 5.5 mL/min) and adsorbent bed height (Z: 4.2 ~ 18.0 cm),on the adsorption breakthrough curves of KA-I resin in a fixed-bed column were investigated. It was found that the amount of adsorbed butanol at breakthrough point was increased with an increase in the value of Cf and Z; and with decrease in the value of Qf. However, the maximum sorption capacities of butanol at saturated point were basically unchanged. Three well-established fixed-bed adsorption models, namely Thomas, Yoon-Nelson and Adams-Bohart,were applied to predict the breakthrough curves and to determine the characteristic parameters of fixed-bed column, which are the basis for the process design at a real scale. Good agreement between the theoretical breakthrough curves and the experimental result were observed using Thomas and Yoon-Nelson models.

Chaotic dynamic characteristics of pressure fluctuation signals in hydro-turbine

        Wen-Tao Su,Xiao-Bin Li,Chao-Feng Lan,Shi An,Jiansheng Wang,Feng-Chen Li 대한기계학회 2016 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.30 No.11

The pressure fluctuation characteristics in a Francis hydro-turbine running at partial flow conditions were studied based on the chaotic dynamic methods. Firstly, the experimental data of pressure fluctuations in the draft tube at various flow conditions was de-noised using lifting wavelet transformation, then, for the de-noised signals, their spectrum distribution on the frequency domain, the energy variation and the energy partition accounting for the total energy was calculated. Hereby, for the flow conditions ranging from no cavitation to severe cavitation, the chaos dynamic features of fluctuation signals were analyzed, including the temporal-frequency distribution, phase trajectory, Lyapunov exponent and Poincaré map etc. It is revealed that, the main energy of pressure fluctuations in the draft tube locates at low-frequency region. As the cavitation grows, the amplitude of power spectrum at frequency domain becomes larger. For all the flow conditions, all the maximal Lyapunov exponents are larger than zero, and they increase with the cavitation level. Therefore, it is believed that there indeed exist the chaotic attractors in the pressure fluctuation signals for a hydro-turbine.
