      • Association Between MDM2 SNP309 T>G and Risk of Gastric Cancer: A Meta-analysis

        Background: As a negative regulator of P53, MDM2 plays an important role in carcinogenesis; a polymorphism in its promoter region. SNP309 T>G, is known to increase the expression of MDM2, thus being considered related to higher susceptibility to neoplasia. However, no agreement has been achieved regarding its effects on gastric cancer. Methods: The present systematic meta-analysis was performed based on comprehensive literature search from Pubmed, Web of science and CBM databases. Results: It was suggested from 6 independent studies that the GG genotype is associated with a significantly increased risk of gastric cancer (Recessive: OR = 1.43, 95% CI = 1.08-1.91, P = 0.013), and subgroup analysis also confirmed the relationship (English publications-recessive model: OR = 1.45, 95% CI = 1.10-1.91, P = 0.009; Studies in China-recessive model: OR = 1.58, 95% CI = 1.08-2.30, P = 0.017). No publication bias was detected. Conclusion: The meta-analysis indicated a significant inverse association between GG genotype carriage and elevated risk of gastric cancer. However, more studies and detailed information are needed to fully address the topic.

        人性論問題是中國古代哲學的基本問題之一。孔子罕言性與天道,但他講仁者爰人, 仁善是人的基本品性。自孟子以來, 人性善被提出來, 確定了中國古代人性論的主調。此后雖有荀子的性惡論, 漢代董仲舒、唐代韓愈等的性三品, 以及性无善惡種種人性論諸說, 但追尋至極處, 各家論人性, 都以性善爲立論的邏輯前提。關于人性善的問題自孟子明確提出來以后, 至宋儒發明最力, 達到最高水平。 近幾年來, 先秦至宋的人性論問題依舊是熱門話題, 發掘出許多新視角、新觀点。一些學者强調人性善論是先秦至宋人性論的深層義涵, 而宋儒心性論是對先秦自孔孟以來人性善思想的系統展開。一些學者則認爲人性惡、性三品、性无善惡, 皆以人性善爲旨歸。許多學者詳盡地闡述了先秦性命之學的源頭活水和修養之方。還有的學者則闡述了中國古代所特有的人之自我超越方式, 逈異于西方的宗敎外在之超越, 其根基在于人性善論。從大文化比較的角度看, 人性善論具有終極意義和普世价値。 The humanity is a basic problem of the Chinese ancient philosophy. Confucian scarcely talked about the universal rule, but he said that the person of humane could be called the true human. Humane person care for human, humanity is the basic character of human. Since Mengzi, Chinese ancient humanity theory was certified the topic, when humanity was referred to. Thereafter, although there were Xunzi’s theory of evil humanity and theory of three classes of humanity by Dong Zhong shu of han period and han yu of tang period and the other theories about the humanity, all of these theories’ precondition were good humanity. The good humanity, since Mengzi referred to it, mostly developed in song period and reached the summit. Around the years, humanity theory from qin to song is still popular topic. Many, new angles and views about the theory have been dig out. Some scholars emphasize that good humanity theory was the connotation of qin to song’s humanity theory. Humanity at heart in song period branched out good humanity theory from which Confucian and Mengzi. Some scholars say that good humanity, humanity of three classes, neither good nor evil humanity, these are all resort to the good humanity. Many scholars elaborately account for the origin and method of destiny learning in qin period. Some account for Chinese unique method of exceeding by oneself distinguished it from west religious exceeding, due to theory of good or evil humanity. In the view of comparison of culture, humanity theory has great significance and value. [Article in Chinese]

        Development of Nested PCR, Multiplex PCR, and Loop-Mediated Isothermal Amplification Assays for Rapid Detection of Cylindrocladium scoparium on Eucalyptus

        Eucalyptus dieback disease, caused by Cylindrocladiumscoparium, has occurred in last few years in largeEucalyptus planting areas in China and other countries. Rapid, simple, and reliable diagnostic techniquesare desired for the early detection of Eucalyptus diebackof C. scoparium prior to formulation of efficientcontrol plan. For this purpose, three PCR-based methodsof nested PCR, multiplex PCR, loop-mediatedisothermal amplification (LAMP) were developed fordetection of C. scoparium based on factor 1-alpha (tef1)and beta-tubulin gene in this study. All of the threemethods showed highly specific to C. scoparium. Thesensitivities of the nested PCR and LAMP were muchhigher than the multiplex PCR. The sensitivity of multiplexPCR was also higher than regular PCR. C. scopariumcould be detected within 60 min from infectedEucalyptus plants by LAMP, while at least 2 h wasneeded by the rest two methods. Using different Eucalyptustissues as samples for C. scoparium detection,all of the three PCR-based methods showed muchbetter detection results than regular PCR. Base on theresults from this study, we concluded that any of thethree PCR-based methods could be used as diagnostictechnology for the development of efficient strategiesof Eucalyptus dieback disease control. Particularly,LAMP was the most practical method in field applicationbecause of its one-step and rapid reaction, simpleoperation, single-tube utilization, and simple visualizationof amplification products.

        Behavior and molecular physiology of nurses of worker and queen larvae in honey bees (Apis mellifera)

        In a honey bee colony, worker bees rear a newqueen by providing herwith a larger cell inwhich to develop and alarge amount of richer food (royal jelly). Royal jelly and worker jelly (fed to developing worker larvae) differ interms of sugar, vitamin, protein and nucleotide composition. Here we examined whether workers attendingqueen andworker larvae are separate specialized sub-castes of the nurse bees.We collected nurse bees attendingqueen larvae (AQL) and worker larvae (AWL) and compared gene expression profiles of hypopharyngeal glandtissues, using Solexa/Illumina digital gene expression tag profiling (DGE). Significant differences in gene expressionwere found that included a disproportionate number of genes involved in glandular secretion and royal jellysynthesis. However behavioral observations showed that thesewere not two entirely distinct populations. Nurseworkers were observed attending both worker larvae and queen larvae, and there was no evidence of a specializedgroup of workers that preferentially or exclusively attended developing queens. Nevertheless, AQL attendedlarvaemore frequently compared toAWL, suggesting that nurses sampled attending queen larvaemay have beenthe most active nurses. This study serves as another example of the relationship between differences in gene expressionand behavioral specialisation in honey bees.

        Detailed crustal structures and seismotectonic environment surrounding the Su-Lu segment of the Tan-Lu fault zone in the eastern China mainland

        The Tan-Lu fault zone (TLFZ) is one of the most important active faults in the eastern Chinese mainland, and the seismic activity of the Su-Lu segment is most prominent. The fault structures of the Su-Lu section are very complex and intersect with many other NW-striking and NE-striking fault zones, resulting in the extreme complexity of the crustal structure in this area. In this study, Bouguer gravity and aeromagnetic data are used to invert the crustal structures surrounding the Su-Lu segment and to construct a three-dimensional model. Our results indicate that the TLFZ presents obvious high anomalies in gravity and aeromagnetic fields, cuts through the Moho interface and acts as an upwelling passage for high-density materials from the uppermost mantle and asthenosphere. The gravity and aeromagnetic anomalies are greatly influenced by the crustal structures. Both the Moho and Curie interfaces are characterized by substantial undulations. The NW-striking and NE-striking faults intersect the TLFZ with different relations—for example, the Wuxi-Suqian fault and Cangshan-Nishan fault cut off the TLFZ with distinct gravity and aeromagnetic anomalies, and the Xintai-Mengyin fault and Mengshan piedmont fault cut off the western part of the TLFZ. In addition, most faults cut to the middle crust, and the lower crust is ductilely deformed because of magmatic underplating, reforming, remelting and thinning of the eastern North China block. Most earthquakes occur in the northern part of the Su-Lu segment, where magmatic activity is intense.

      • Software Defect Model Based on Similarity and Association Rule

        In order to detect defects efficiently and improve the quality of products, this paper puts forward the concept about defect classification model and defect association model by a lot of defect data. The technology of similarity is applied to defect classification model, and the idea of Knowledge Discovery in Database is applied to defect association model. Defect classification model can analyze the defect efficiently and provides the basis of solving problems quickly while defect association model can be used to detect early and prevent problem, which can make effective improvements for testing and development. This paper summed up GUI defect model based on a large number of interface defects. The model is useful to improve the accuracy of forecast and be used for test planning and implementation through the practice of several projects.

        Hierarchical porous ECM scaffolds incorporating GDF-5 fabricated by cryogenic 3D printing to promote articular cartilage regeneration

        In recent years, there has been significant research progress on in situ articular cartilage (AC) tissue engineering with endogenous stem cells, which uses biological materials or bioactive factors to improve the regeneration microenvironment and recruit more endogenous stem cells from the joint cavity to the defect area to promote cartilage regeneration.In this study, we used ECM alone as a bioink in low-temperature deposition manufacturing (LDM) 3D printing and then successfully fabricated a hierarchical porous ECM scaffold incorporating GDF-5.Comparative in vitro experiments showed that the 7% ECM scaffolds had the best biocompatibility. After the addition of GDF-5 protein, the ECM scaffolds significantly improved bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell (BMSC) migration and chondrogenic differentiation. Most importantly, the in vivo results showed that the ECM/GDF-5 scaffold significantly enhanced in situ cartilage repair.In conclusion, this study reports the construction of a new scaffold based on the concept of in situ regeneration, and we believe that our findings will provide a new treatment strategy for AC defect repair.

      • The Input-output’s Control Strategy of the Fashion Company

        This paper deals with the problems of control strategy of the fashion company. The input-output model is founded based on the singular stochastic dynamic Leontief input-output model. A new mathematic method is applied to study the singular systems without converting them into general linear systems. The parameter uncertainties are considered and are assumed to be time-invariant and Markovian jumping. A new stability criterion for singular system is given to ensure the robust stability of singular input-output model in terms of linear matrix inequality. Finally, the corresponding computer control algorithm is provided.
