고등학교 사회과 다문화 수업 프로그램이 학생들의 간문화적 태도에 미치는 영향 연구

본 연구의 목적은 고등학교 방과후 다문화 수업 프로그램이 학생들의 다문화적 태도, 특히 간문화적 감수성(Intercultural Sensitivity)에 대해 가지는 영향을 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해 연구자는 10시간 분량의 다문화 수업 프로그램을 설계하였다. 그리고 이 다문화 수업 프로그램을 다문화교육에 관심을 가진 서울 소재 사립 고등학교 사회과 교사의 도움을 얻어 개설한 ‘다문화사회 이야기’라는 방과 후 수업에 적용하였다. 연구자가 개발한 다문화 수업 프로그램이 학생들의 간문화적 태도에 변화를 가져왔는지 알아보기 위해 Hammer, Bennett & Wiseman(2003)의 ‘간문화적 발달 측정 척도(Intercultural Development Inventory, IDI)에 기초한 설문 조사를 실시하였다. 설문 자료 분석 결과, 본 연구에 포함된 간문화적 감수성의 하위 영역 4개 중에서 부정/방어(Denial/Defense), 최소화(Minimization) 및 수용/적응(Acceptance/Adaptation)의 3개 영역에서 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 발견되었다. 이와 같은 결과는 연구자의 다문화 교육 수업 프로그램이 학생들의 다문화적 태도에 긍정적인 변화를 가져온다는 점을 보여줌과 동시에, 현행 사회과 교육과정에 적용가능한 다문화 교육과정의 내용과 방법의 개발에 긍정적인 시사점을 제공하고 있다. The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of the after-school multicultural lesson, “The Tales of A Multicultural Society” on students’ intercultural sensitivity. Based on the pedagogical model of multicultural education developed by Jho & Park (2009), “the Tales of A Multicultural Society” consisted of 10 instructional lessons (50 minutes per each) and was implemented in a local private girls’ high school in Seoul. The researchers monitored the entire lessons and conducted in-depth interviews with selective students. Then, in order to measure students’ intercultural attitudinal change, the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) survey of 50 items were administered to 40 students twice, on the first day of the course and 4 weeks after the completion of the course. In sum, the study found that overall the multicultural education course the researchers designed had a statistically positive impact on students’ intercultural sensitivity. The findings of the study request for further research and continuous investment on developing multicultural pedagogical knowledge and strategies.
Public key broadcast encryption scheme using new converting method

Broadcast encryption is a cryptographical primitive which is designed for a content provider to distribute contents to only privileged qualifying users through an insecure channel. Anyone who knows public keys can distribute contents by means of public key broadcast encryption whose technique can also be applicable to many other applications. In order to design public key broadcast encryption scheme, it should devise some methods that convert a broadcast encryption scheme based on symmetric key cryptosystem to a public key broadcast encryption. Up to this point, broadcast encryption scheme on trial for converting from symmetric key setting to asymmetric public key setting has been attempted by employing the Hierarchical Identity Based Encryption (HIBE) technique. However, this converting method is not optimal because some of the properties of HIBE are not quite fitting for public key broadcast schemes. In this paper, we proposed new converting method and an efficient public key broadcast encryption scheme Pub-PI which is obtained by adapting the new converting method to the PI scheme [10]. The transmission overhead of the Pub-PI is approximately 3r, where r is the number of revoked users. The storage size of Pub-PI is O($c^2$), where c is a system parameter of PI and the computation cost is 2 pairing computations.
Effect of Charge Inhomogeneity and Mobility on Colloid Aggregation

<P>The aggregation of inhomogeneously charged colloids with the same average charge is analyzed using Monte Carlo simulations. We find aggregation of colloids for sizes in the range 10–200 nm, which is similar to the range in which aggregation is observed in several experiments. The attraction arises from the strongly correlated electrostatic interactions associated with the increase in the counterion density in the region between the particles; this effect is enhanced by the discreteness and mobility of the surface charges. Larger colloids attract more strongly when their surface charges are discrete. Strong-Coupling Electrostatics in the Presence of Dielectric Inhomogeneities

<P>We study the strong-coupling (SC) interaction between two like-charged membranes of finite thickness embedded in a medium of higher dielectric constant. A generalized SC theory is applied along with extensive Monte Carlo simulations to study the image charge effects induced by multiple dielectric discontinuities in this system. These effects lead to strong counterion crowding in the central region of the intersurface space upon increasing the solvent-membrane dielectric mismatch and change the membrane interactions from attractive to repulsive at small separations. These features agree quantitatively with the SC theory at elevated couplings or dielectric mismatch where the correlation hole around counterions is larger than the thickness of the central counterion layer.</P>
