Rational Design of Inflammation-Responsive Inflatable Nanogels for Ultrasound Molecular Imaging

<P>Microbubbles are clinically used as an imaging agent for contrast-enhanced ultrasound image. Beyond the preformed microbubbles, nanoscale gas-generating chemical systems that are capable of stimulus-responsive inflation to microbubbles have recently been employed as a new echogenic strategy for ultrasound molecular imaging. Here, we report a peroxamide-based ultrasound contrast agent as a H<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>2</SUB>-responsive gas (CO<SUB>2</SUB>)-generating system for diagnostic ultrasound imaging of inflammatory diseases. A hydrolytic degradation-resistant peroxamide nanogel was constructed by nanoscopic cross-linking of polymeric aliphatic amines (branched polyethyleneimine) with oxalyl chloride, which intrinsically offers highly concentrated peroxamides as a reactive cross-linking point for H<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>2</SUB>-responsive CO<SUB>2</SUB>-generation by the peroxalate chemiluminescence reaction that is intrinsically catalyzed by the polyamine-derived intraparticle basic environment. It was experimentally revealed that the interior of the peroxamide-concentrated nanogel colloid serves as an optimal nanoscale catalytic reactor for the H<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>2</SUB>-responsive gas generation as well as a gas reservoir capable of nano-to-micro inflation. We demonstrate that the peroxamide-concentrated nanogels are indeed capable of enhancing the ultrasound contrast in response to H<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>2</SUB>, which allows us to perform diagnostic ultrasound imaging of H<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>2</SUB>-overproducing inflammatory diseases in mouse models. Along with the biocompatibility of the peroxamide nanogels revealed by the animal toxicity study, our design strategy for the inflatable nanoparticles would contribute to the advancement of activatable contrast agents for ultrasound molecular imaging.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>

위치 정보를 사용자의 맥락 정보로 활용한 음식점 추천 서비스 컨셉 제안

사용자는 음식점을 결정하기 위해 상황을 기반으로 선택속성의 기준을 정하고 이용자 후기를 탐 색하며 정보를 얻는다. 사용자의 상황에 따라 의사결정이 달라지지만, 현재 서비스는 사용자의 상황을 고려하지 않고 제공되기 때문에 사용자의 시간 대부분이 탐색 작업을 반복하는 데 사용하게 된다. 본 연구의 3장에서 전문가 리뷰를 통해 문제를 정의하였고, 4장에서 사용자 컨텍스트 및 사용자 데이터, 그리고 음식점 정보를 기반으로 인텔리전스를 적용한 추천 서비스를 제안한다. 제안한 추천 서비스를 상황 인식 관점으로 접근하였고, 이를 통해 사용자가 지각, 이해, 예상 단계에서 반복했던 작업을 인 텔리전스가 대신 행하여 사용자의 시간을 절약하고 의사결정 과정을 도울 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. In the process of deciding a restaurant, the user sets the criteria for selection attributes based on the situation and explores for reviews to obtain information. Decision-making vary depending on the user's situation, but the current service is provided without considering the user's situation, leading to most of the user's time spent on repeating the explore task. In Chapter 3 of this study, the problem has been defined through Expert Reviews, and in Chapter 4, a recommendation service using intelligence based on user context, user data, and information about selection attribute has been proposed and approached from a Situation Awareness perspective. It is expected that intelligence can save users time and help the process of decision-making by replacing tasks that users repeated at the stage of Perceptions, Comprehension, and Projection of Situation Awareness.
자율 주행 차량의 사고 예방을 위한 통합 알림 시스템 제안-운전자 부주의로 인한 사고를 중심으로-

최근 자율주행 차량 운전자들의 '부주의 행동'으로 인한 사고가 지속적으로 발생하고 있으며, 다 양한 관점에서 이에 대한 연구가 수행되고 있다. 본 연구는 운전자의 부주의로 인해 발생하는 자율주 행 차량 사고 상황을 사용자의 관점에서 분석하고, 사고를 예방할 수 있는 시스템을 제안한다. 사고의 요인이 발생하는 위치(차량 내부/외부)를 기준으로 사고 상황을 [Case 1, 2]로 분류하였으며, 사용자 의 인지와 행동 단위로 상황을 분석해 각 단계에 맞는 사고 예방 시스템을 구성하고 시스템에 활용되 는 청각알림의 분류를 제안하였다. 본 연구는 운전자의 인지과정을 중심으로 자율주행 차량의 사고를 분석하고 빠른 인지-행동 수행을 위한 청각 알림 시스템을 제안하였다는데 의의가 있다. Recently, accidents caused by 'inattentive behavior' of autonomous vehicle drivers have been occurring continuously, and studies have been conducted from various perspectives. This study analyzes the situation of autonomous vehicle accidents caused by driver inattention from the user's perspective and proposes a system that can prevent accidents. We classified the accident situation into [Case 1, 2] based on the location where the factors of the accident occur (inside/outside the vehicle), and analyzed the situation in units of user's perception and behavior to construct an accident prevention system for each stage, and proposed a classification of auditory notifications used in the system. The significance of this study is that it analyzed the accident of autonomous vehicles centered on the driver's cognitive process and proposed an auditory notification system for quick cognition and action.

Salinization of agricultural lands, particularly rice paddies, results in the drastic decline of crop yields. Soil salinization impacts the plant physiology by inducing salt stress which may leads to osmotic stress, ionic stress and water-related nutrient imbalance. These imbalances necessitate the need for plants to produce osmolytes including proline and glycine betaine. This study aimed to elucidate the dynamic changes in proline and glycine betaine accumulation modulated by the inoculation of Brevibacterium linens RS16 in salt-sensitive and moderately salt-tolerant rice plants under salt stress conditions. This study showed the interaction of four major factors including rice genotypes with differing tolerance to salt stress, length of exposure to salt stress, level of salt stress and effects of inoculation. Salt stress resulted in significant reduction in plant growth parameters with the salt-sensitive rice genotype (IR29) having a more significant growth reduction. Both the salt-sensitive and salt-tolerant rice genotypes increased in total proline and glycine betaine accumulation at 3 days and 10 days after subjecting under 50 mM and 150 mM salt stress conditions. A significant increase in proline and glycine betaine was observed in the salt-sensitive genotype after 10 days under 50 mM and 150 mM salt stress conditions. Inoculation of the rice genotypes with B. linens RS16 resulted in the improvement of plant growth parameters in both rice genotypes, and total proline and glycine betaine accumulation, especially in IR29. This study showed that proline and glycine betaine are compatible osmolytes of rice under salt stress, and that inoculation of rice genotypes with B. linens RS16 mediated salt tolerance through improvement of plant growth parameters and proline and glycine betaine accumulation in rice plants.
