Ashish Jaiswal,Satish Kumar,Siva Reddy,Parineeta Jaiswal 대한척추외과학회 2019 Asian Spine Journal Vol.13 No.5
Study Design: Prospective study. Purpose: To verify the feasibility and safety of outpatient microscopic lumbar discectomy (MLD) in a developing country. Overview of Literature: Outpatient MLD is advantageous in terms of cost effectiveness and avoidance of nosocomial infections. Safety of outpatient MLD has been well established in the developed nations of North America and Europe. There is no published study of outpatient MLD from the rest of the world, especially in developing countries. Methods: Fifty-eight consecutive patients undergoing outpatient MLD with a median follow-up time of 12 months (range, 6–21 months) were included in this study. Simultaneous patient counseling was done by a surgical and anesthetic team preoperatively and pre-discharge. We collected and analyzed data pertaining to the demography, socioeconomic status, perioperative parameters, complications, and outcome assessment scores of the patients. Results: The average patient age was 37.8±9.6 years (39 males, 19 females). Unilateral discectomy was performed in 55 patients, and bilateral discectomy in three. The majority (80.3%) of the patients were classified to lower middle (III) or upper lower (IV) class on the Modified Kuppuswamy Scale. The average operative time was 41.0±8.4 minutes with an average blood loss of 42.6±14.9 mL. The average postoperative stay was 5.5±0.7 hours and the successful discharge rate was 100%. Complications noted were postoperative nausea (n=8), urinary retention (n=2), meralgia paresthetica (n=3), delayed wound healing (n=2), and recurrence (n=1). The successful outcome rates were Visual Analog Scale (VAS) score leg pain, 93.1%; VAS score back pain, 89.6%; Oswestry Disability Index score, 91.3%; return to activities of daily living, 94.8%; return to work, 79.3%; patient satisfaction rate, 82.7%; and overall success rate, 88.4%. Conclusions: Outpatient MLD can be safely performed with success, even in the setting of a developing country, if the prerequisites of appropriate patient selection, arduous adherence to outpatient surgery protocol, competent surgical/anesthetic team, and infrastructure needed for conduction of microsurgery are met.

A nondifferentiable nonlinear semi-infinite programming problem is considered, where the functions involved are ${\eta}$-semidifferentiable type I-preinvex and related functions. Necessary and sufficient optimality conditions are obtained for a nondifferentiable nonlinear semi-in nite programming problem. Also, a Mond-Weir type dual and a general Mond-Weir type dual are formulated for the nondifferentiable semi-infinite programming problem and usual duality results are proved using the concepts of generalized semilocally type I-preinvex and related functions.

Rietveld refinement of the X-ray diffraction patterns shows the cubic structure in the space group Pm-3m up to <I>p</I> = 0.10. The lattice parameter decreases with ‘<I>p</I>’ and lie in the range ∼4.358 to ∼4.333 Å. XPS data show the percentage of Ce4+ increases which in turn, reduces the oxygen non-stoichiometry (<I>δ</I>) – values with deficiency (<I>p</I>). Raman spectra show the presence of oxygen vacancies which decreases with ‘<I>p</I>’. The conduction behavior depicts the protonic nature with activation energy lying in the range of 0.24–0.29 eV. An attempt was made to identify superior bivoltine silkworm hybrid suitable for monsoon and spring season of Uttar Pradesh. Breeds with superior cocoon characters and their more popularity in an area were major parameters on basis of which breeds from different regions were selected. Six bivoltine hybrids of silkworm (Bombyx mori L.) of different geographical regions were reared in monsoon (three hybrids) and spring season (three hybrids) during 2000-2002 i.e., for three years at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow. Their performances were analyzed statistically for nine characters. The analysis made on a number of traits viz., hatching percentage, larval duration, pupation rate, yield /10000 larvae (by no.), yield /10000 larvae (by weight), cocoon weight, cocoon shell weight, cocoon shell ratio, showed the superiority of one bivoltine hybrid out of the three bivoltine hybrids studied in each season. $SH6{\times}{NB_4}{D_2}$ was found to be superior in major cocoon parameters in both the seasons i.e., monsoon and spring season of Uttar Pradesh.
Adaptive Multispectral Demosaicking Based on Frequency-Domain Analysis of Spectral Correlation
Jaiswal, Sunil Prasad,Fang, Lu,Jakhetiya, Vinit,Pang, Jiahao,Mueller, Klaus,Au, Oscar Chi IEEE 2017 IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON IMAGE PROCESSING - Vol.26 No.2
<P>Color filter array (CFA) interpolation, or three-band demosaicking, is a process of interpolating the missing color samples in each band to reconstruct a full color image. In this paper, we are concerned with the challenging problem of multispectral demosaicking, where each band is significantly undersampled due to the increment in the number of bands. Specifically, we demonstrate a frequency-domain analysis of the subsampled color-difference signal and observe that the conventional assumption of highly correlated spectral bands for estimating undersampled components is not precise. Instead, such a spectral correlation assumption is image dependent and rests on the aliasing interferences among the various color-difference spectra. To address this problem, we propose an adaptive spectral-correlation-based demosaicking (ASCD) algorithm that uses a novel anti-aliasing filter to suppress these interferences, and we then integrate it with an intra-prediction scheme to generate a more accurate prediction for the reconstructed image. Our ASCD is computationally very simple, and exploits the spectral correlation property much more effectively than the existing algorithms. Experimental results conducted on two data sets for multispectral demosaicking and one data set for CFA demosaicking demonstrate that the proposed ASCD outperforms the state-of-the-art algorithms.</P>

Perovskite-type materials containing metal and cerium cations have been used as catalysts, membranes, electrodes in fuel cells, and hydrogen pumps. The effect of strontium doping on the perovskite-type structure has been evaluated and effectively maintains the cubic structure of (Ba1-xSrx)(Ce0.75Zr0.10Y0.15)O3-δ. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) was performed on the oxidation states of barium, strontium, cerium, zirconium, yttrium and oxygen. With strontium doping, the oxidation state of cerium ions in 4+ increases and results in the decrease in oxygen vacancy concentration. These are attributed to the strong binding energy of (A/B)-O bond which in turn, enhances the structural stability of electrolyte system. The free volume (Vf) is maximum for x=0.2 (Vf=33.1A3) and then decreases with further strontium insertion. The optical absorption peaks are attributed to charge transfer transitions and energy band gap (increases from ~4.13 to ~4.35eV). However, the increase of band gap is only ~5% with partial replacement of barium by strontium. These characteristics are useful to make (Ba1-xSrx)(Ce0.75Zr0.10Y0.15)O3-δ a promising candidate for futuristic and reliable fuel cell technology.
Comparative Performance Analysis of High Speed Low Power Area Efficient FIR Adaptive Filter
Jaiswal, Manish The Institute of Electronics and Information Engin 2014 IEIE Transactions on Smart Processing & Computing Vol.3 No.5
This paper presents the comparative performance of an adaptive FIR filter for a Delayed LMS algorithm. The delayed error signal was used to obtain a Delayed LMS algorithm to allow efficient pipelining for achieving a small critical path and area efficient implementation. This paper presents hardware efficient results (device utilization parameters) and power consumed. The FPGA families (Artix-7, Virtex-7, and Kintex-7) for a low voltage perspective are shown. The synthesis results showed that the artix-7 CMOS family achieves the lowest power consumption of 1.118 mW with 83.18 % device utilization. Different Precision strategies, such as the speed optimization and power optimization, were imposed to achieve these results. The algorithm was implemented using MATLAB (2013b) and synthesized on the Leonardo spectrum.

Wide Area Surveillance refers to the continuous monitoring and tracking of the earth's surface, using Synthetic Aperture Radars (SAR) on air and space-borne satellites. The present work is an application of the same for maritime ship detection in the sea. The wake is a rich source of information about the ship's particulars. Current research shows that CFD studies predict ship wakes and thus have a role in the ship detection process. We find that all cases of ship detection can be done with this technique with less than 7% error. The study has been further extended to look at the case of a ship turning. This is the first study to establish with evidence the effect of turning ship wakes on detection and we find it to be applicable to 6% error. Further work is needed to determine the practicality of this approach for the Navy by employing SAR images.
