Objective : Computed tomography (CT)-based method of three dimensional (3D) analysis ($MIMICS^{(R)}$, Materialise, Leuven, Belgium) is reported as very useful software for evaluation of OPLL, but its reliability and reproducibility are obscure. This study was conducted to evaluate the accuracy of $MIMICS^{(R)}$ system, and inter- and intra-observer reliability in the measurement of OPLL. Methods : Three neurosurgeons independently analyzed the randomly selected 10 OPLL cases with medical image processing software ($MIMICS^{(R)}$) which create 3D model with Digital Imaging and Communication in Medicine (DICOM) data from CT images after brief explanation was given to examiners before the image construction steps. To assess the reliability of inter- and intra-examiner intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC), 3 examiners measured 4 parameters (volume, length, width, and length) in 10 cases 2 times with 1-week interval. Results : The inter-examiner ICCs among 3 examiners were 0.996 (95% confidence interval [CI], 0.987-0.999) for volume measurement, 0.973 (95% CI, 0.907-0.978) for thickness, 0.969 (95% CI, 0.895-0.993) for width, and 0.995 (95% CI, 0.983-0.999) for length. The intra-examiner ICCs were 0.994 (range, 0.991-0.996) for volume, 0.996 (range, 0.944-0.998) for length, 0.930 (range, 0.873-0.947) for width, and 0.987 (range, 0.985-0.995) for length. Conclusion : The medical image processing software ($MIMICS^{(R)}$) provided detailed quantification OPLL volume with minimal error of inter- and intra-observer reliability in the measurement of OPLL.

Objective This study aimed to investigate treatment effects of combination therapy of memantine and acetylcholinesterase inhibitors (AchEIs) compared with AchEIs alone on behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD) in patients with moderate Alzheimer’s dementia (AD).Methods This was a 12-week, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial. A total of 148 patients with moderate AD participated in this study. Mini-Mental State Examination, Neuropsychiatric Inventory (NPI), Clinician’s Interview-Based Impression of Change plus caregiver input, Gottfries–Bråne–Steen Scale, and Zarit Burden Interview were used as assessment scales.Results There were no significant differences in age, sex, or education between AChEIs alone and combination groups. The combination group showed significantly more improvement of NPI-disinhibition score (0.76±2.15) than the AChEIs alone group (-0.14±1.71) after 12 weeks.Conclusion Our findings suggest that the combination therapy of memantine and AchEIs might be a beneficial option for reducing disinhibition symptoms of patients with moderate AD compared with AchEIs alone. We believe that clinicians need to consider additional memantine treatment when patients with moderate AD complain disinhibition symptom. A larger clinical trial is needed to further determine the efficacy and advantages of such combination therapy of memantine and AchEIs for treating BPSD of patients with moderate AD.

<P><B>Background:</B></P><P>Two main questions about the use of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) for regeneration purposes are its effect on the speed of healing and the quality of healing. Despite recent numerous studies, evidence is still lacking in this area, especially in a representative patient population with medium to large rotator cuff tears.</P><P><B>Purpose:</B></P><P>To assess the efficacy of PRP augmentation on the speed and quality of healing in patients undergoing arthroscopic repair for medium to large rotator cuff tears.</P><P><B>Study Design:</B></P><P>Randomized controlled trial; Level of evidence, 1.</P><P><B>Methods:</B></P><P>A total of 74 patients scheduled for arthroscopic repair of medium to large rotator cuff tears were randomly assigned to undergo either PRP-augmented repair (PRP group) or conventional repair (conventional group). In the PRP group, 3 PRP gels (3 × 3 mL) were applied to each patient between the torn end and the greater tuberosity. The primary outcome was the Constant score at 3 months after surgery. Secondary outcome measures included the visual analog scale (VAS) for pain, range of motion (ROM), muscle strength, overall satisfaction and function, functional scores, retear rate, and change in the cross-sectional area (CSA) of the supraspinatus muscle.</P><P><B>Results:</B></P><P>There was no difference between the 2 groups in the Constant score at 3 months (<I>P</I> > .05). The 2 groups had similar results on the VAS for pain, ROM, muscle strength, overall satisfaction and function, and other functional scores (all <I>P</I> > .05) except for the VAS for worst pain (<I>P</I> = .043). The retear rate of the PRP group (3.0%) was significantly lower than that of the conventional group (20.0%) (<I>P</I> = .032). The change in 1-year postoperative and immediately postoperative CSAs was significantly different between the 2 groups: –36.76 ± 45.31 mm<SUP>2</SUP> in the PRP group versus −67.47 ± 47.26 mm<SUP>2</SUP> in the conventional group (<I>P</I> = .014).</P><P><B>Conclusion:</B></P><P>Compared with repairs without PRP augmentation, the current PRP preparation and application methods for medium to large rotator cuff repairs significantly improved the quality, as evidenced by a decreased retear rate and increased CSA of the supraspinatus, but not the speed of healing. However, further studies may be needed to investigate the effects of PRP on the speed of healing without risking the quality.</P>

양이온계 계면활성제와 실리케이트 용액의 자기조립 반응을 이용하여 기공 형성의 주형으로 이용하고 여기에 레소시놀-포름알데하이드를 투여한 후 고분자화 반응을 통하여 계면활성제/실리케이트/고분자 나노 복합체를 제조하였다. 제조된 나노 복합체를 고온에서 탄화하고 이를 불산으로 에칭하여 메조다공성 나노막대형 탄소 재료를 성공적으로 제조하였다. 제조된 메조다공성 나노 막대 탄소 재료를 전기이중층 캐패시터 전극으로 적용하였으며, 다양한 전기화학 실험을 통하여 그 성능을 평가하였다. 이 결과 잘 발달된 메조 기공 내부의 원활한 이온 전달 특성 및 나노 막대에서의 최적화된 기공 길이로 인해, 기존의 활성탄 재료보다 매우 우수한 속도 특성(낮은 기공 저항) 및 높은 면적당 캐패시턴스(17.4 μF cm<SUP>-2</SUP>)를 갖는 전기이충층 캐패시터 전극 재료를 제조할 수 있었다. Using the self-assembly reaction between cationic surfactant and silicate solution, a direct templating method was investigated. After the addition of resorcinol and formaldehyde into the solution, the polymerization reaction was conducted and surfactant/silicate/polymer nanocomposite was prepared. After carbonization and following hydrofluoric acid etching, mesoporous carbon nanorod (MPCNR) particles were prepared. As-prepared material was applied into electrode in electric double-layer capacitors and various electrochemical analysis was carried out using the electrodes. Due to the well-developed mesoporosity and nanosized rod particles, a highly improved rate performance (low resistance in pores) and large double layer capacitance per area (17.4 μF cm<SUP>-2</SUP>) than the commercialized activated carbon electrode were observed, which was attributed to easy penetration through mesopores and optimized pore length for electrolyte transport.

본 논문에서는 집적회로 설계에서의 성능 및 비용 추정 기법을 기술하였다. 상위 단계(high-level)에서는 하드웨어 비용 추정을 위하여 주어진 하드웨어를 리스트 스케줄링 (list scheduling) 알고리듬을 사용하여 스케줄링한다. 리소스 제약조건하에서 전체 수행 시간이 최소화 되도록 스케줄링을 수행하여 주어진 설계가 지연시간에 대한 설계 사양을 만족시킬 수 있는지를 빠른 시간 내에 검토할 수 있도록 하였다. 신호의 지연시간은 게이트와 배선에서의 지연시간을 함께 고려하여 추정한다. 제안한 지연시간 추정 기법을 몇 가지 예제 회로에 적용하여 실험한 결과는 이 기법이 잘 잘려진 상용 시스템에 비하여 효율적임을 보여준다. In this paper, performance and cost estimation techniques for VLSI design are described. Operations are scheduled at the high-level by using the list scheduling algorithm to estimate hardware area cost. For given resource constraints, the total execution time is minimized during scheduling and the result is used to check whether the scheduling can satisfy the delay constraints. The signal propagation delay is estimated considering both of the gate delay and wiring delay, Experimental results show that the proposed estimation technique is effective.
An autonomous aerial combat framework for two-on-two engagements based on basic fighter maneuvers

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Unmanned combat aerial vehicles are expected to assist human pilots or to perform autonomous aerial combat in the future. Previous research studies on autonomous aerial combat often have limitations due to overly simplifying assumptions, heavy computational loads, and limited scalability. In this paper, we propose a novel autonomous aerial combat algorithm with high-performance and real-time calculations based on basic fighter maneuvers for gun-based engagement within visual range. From the perspective of energy maneuver, which is the core concept of basic fighter maneuvers, we analyzed the flight envelope and maximum maneuvering point of a fighter jet model using the velocity-load factor and energy-maneuver diagrams. We designed a score function and matrix for situation assessment based on combat geometries, enabling cooperative maneuvers and role assignment. By performing gun modeling and target prediction based on the maneuvering plane, the impact point for gun shooting was obtained. The performance of the designed algorithm was validated through not only Monte-Carlo simulations with various initial conditions, but also engagements with another algorithm for comparison, and evaluation sessions by an Air Force combat instructor in a real-time simulation environment using virtual reality goggles and X-Plane.</P>
