DC Output Wind Generator with Modified Trapezoidal Modulated Converter and Solid-State Transformer
Noriyuki KIMURA,Naoki KAWABATA,Toshimitsu MORIZANE,Hideki OMORI 전력전자학회 2019 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.2019 No.5
This paper proposes the Modified Trapezoidal Modulation (MTM) as a new modulation technique for a voltage source converter (VSC) for the wind power generator with HVDC transmission. The experimental results show that the MTM is more effective than the conventional sinusoidal modulation (SM) for the reduction of the VSC cost and the switching loss. It is also expected to reduce the torque ripple by optimizing the rectangular ratio in the MTM to reduce the disadvantage of generated harmonic currents. Simulation and experimental results show the good feasibility of using MTM. It is expected to use solid-state transformer (SST) to have galvanic isolation in the proposed system. MPPT simulation with SST shows the good performance of the total unit.
Imbalanced Fault Detection using Real Time Symmetrical Coordinate Calculation with Memorized Data
Noriyuki Kimura,Xiao-xiao Yu,Koji Niijima,Toshimitsu Morizane,Hideki Omori 전력전자학회 2015 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.2015 No.6
This paper proposes a real time symmetrical coordinate transformation applied for detection of imbalanced fault in utility power system. The power conditioner of the photovoltaic system in Japan is required to remain connected when the utility power system fault occurs under certain condition. The most popular fault is 1 line-to-ground fault. The next is 2 line-short fault. Both cause the imbalance voltages and currents in 3-phase power system. To optimize the output from the power conditioner of the photovoltaic system, the detection of the imbalanced condition is important factor. In this paper, new development of the signal processing method by using the complex number algebra in real time system is shown. The fast detection of the imbalanced condition is verified by the computer simulations.

Purpose: Postoperative pancreatic fistula (POPF) is the most important factor affecting morbidity and mortality after pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD). Patients with a high controlling nutritional status (CONUT) score, which is used to assess nutritional status, are expected to have high morbidity rates. This study aimed to determine the usefulness of the CONUT score. Methods: Data from 97 consecutive cases of PD performed in the Department of Surgery of Iwakuni Clinical Center, from April 2008 to May 2018, were included. Preoperative patient data, including sex, age, and hypertension, and postoperative complication data were collected to analyze pancreatic fistula occurrence. Results: Of the 97 patients, 2 9 patients (29.8%) were diagnosed with POPF ≥ B, with 26 cases (26.8%) classified as grade B and 3 (3.1%) as grade C. The mortality rate was 2.1% (2 of 97). In the univariate analysis, a significant association was observed between POPF and the following factors: body mass index (BMI) ≥ 22 kg/m2, high CONUT score, nonpancreatic carcinoma, and CT attenuation values. In multivariate analysis, BMI ≥ 22 kg/m2 (odds ratio [OR], 6.16; P < 0.001), high CONUT score (OR, 3.77; P = 0.009), nonpancreatic carcinoma (OR, 5.72; P = 0.009), and CT attenuation values (late/early ratio) in the pancreas (OR, 9.07; P = 0.006) were independent risk factors for POPF. Conclusion: Patients with a high CONUT score are at high risk of POPF. Further study correlating preoperative nutritional intervention with risk of POPF is necessary

Vasodilator-stimulated phosphoprotein (VASP) is a regulator of actin dynamics in platelets and a common substrate of both cAMP- and cGMP-dependent protein kinases (PKA and PKG). Elevations of the cAMP and cGMP concentration have been shown to inhibit platelet aggregation. Intracellular levels of cAMP and cGMP are regulated by the synthesizing system of adenylate cyclases, and hydrolysis by cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterases (PDEs). The present study examined the effect of the anti-platelet drug, cilostazol, which inhibits PDE3 activity, on VASP phosphorylation in platelets. VASP phosphorylation was examined by immunoblotting with an anti-VASP antibody, M4, and an anti-phospho-VASP antibody, 16C2. Cilostazol phosphorylated VASP at both Ser 157 and Ser 239 in a concentration-dependent manner, but EHNA (PDE2 inhibitor), dipyridamole and zaprinast (PDE5 inhibitors) did not. Forskolin (adenylate cyclase activator) and sodium nitroprusside (SNP, NO donor) resulted in the VASP phosphorylation, with increase in the cAMP and cGMP level, respectively. Cilostazol increased cAMP, but not cGMP levels, in platelets. EHNA, zaprinast and dipyridamole, had no effect on cAMP and cGMP levels. The PKA/PKG inhibitor, H-89, inhibited VASP phosphorylation by cilostazol. These results demonstrated that cilostazol phosphorylates VASP through the PDE3 inhibition, increase of cAMP level, and PKA activation in platelets.

Linear motors and Electro Magnetic Suspension (EMS) are used in the maglev system. Linear Induction motors (LIMs) have simple structure, flexible mechanism, and direct drive. HSST (High Speed Surface Transport) system is one of the magnetic levitation systems using LIM. In this system, the traction is controlled by LIM, and the levitation is controlled by EMS respectively. However, this systems have problems, for example the attractive force generated from LIM disturbs the levitation control of the EMS. We have proposed a new magnetic levitation system without EMS. In this system, the attractive force generated from LIM is used as the levitation force. We have also proposed a new control method of the thrust force and attractive force independently and simultaneously. It uses two frequency components. In this paper, we verify the control performance of propulsion and levitation by the experiments.
