<P><B>Background and Aims</B></P><P>Smartphone addiction is a recent concern that has resulted from the dramatic increase in worldwide smartphone use. This study assessed the risk and protective factors associated with smartphone addiction in college students and compared these factors to those linked to Internet addiction.</P><P><B>Methods</B></P><P>College students (<I>N</I> = 448) in South Korea completed the Smartphone Addiction Scale, the Young’s Internet Addiction Test, the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test, the Beck Depression Inventory I, the State–Trait Anxiety Inventory (Trait Version), the Character Strengths Test, and the Connor–Davidson Resilience Scale. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analyses.</P><P><B>Results</B></P><P>The risk factors for smartphone addiction were female gender, Internet use, alcohol use, and anxiety, while the protective factors were depression and temperance. In contrast, the risk factors for Internet addiction were male gender, smartphone use, anxiety, and wisdom/knowledge, while the protective factor was courage.</P><P><B>Discussion</B></P><P>These differences may result from unique features of smartphones, such as high availability and primary use as a tool for interpersonal relationships.</P><P><B>Conclusions</B></P><P>Our findings will aid clinicians in distinguishing between predictive factors for smartphone and Internet addiction and can consequently be utilized in the prevention and treatment of smartphone addiction.</P>

본 논문은 적의 위협과 지형방해물을 고려한 비행경로를 지형데이타(DEM)를 이용하여 3차원으로 가시화시켜주는 비행경로시스템을 구현하여 조종사의 브리핑에 이용함으로써, 사전에 공격경로를 인지케하여 임무의 효과를 극대화하는데 목적이 있다. 먼저 계산기하학의 보로노이 다이아그램을 이용하여 지형을 3차원으로 모델링하고, 가상적의 영토안에 위치한 고정된 적의 위협과 지형방해물을 고려한 목표물까지의 최적비행경로를 구하며, 다양한 그래픽기법을 이용하여 비행경로를 실시간으로 가시화한다.
Should Let Them Go? Study on the Emergency Department Discharge of Patients Who Attempted Suicide

Objective The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics and factors of voluntary discharged patients after suicide attempt and analyze the effectiveness of follow-up measures. Methods Total 504 adult patients aged 14 years and over, who visited a local emergency medical center from September 1, 2013 to December 31, 2015 were enrolled and retrospectively reviewed. We analyzed the relationship with voluntary discharge group (VDG) among basic characteristics, suicidal attempt variables, outcome variables related to suicide attempts, and treatment related variables comparing with normal discharge group (NDG). Results Of the total 504 suicide attempts, three hundred eleven (61.7%) patients were VDG and 193 (38.2%) were NDG. The proportion of patients who completed the community service linkage were 18.7% (36/193) in NDG, compared with 7.7% (24/311) in VDG(p<0.05). In addition, the ratio of the patients who visited psychiatric outpatient department in NDG were 57.0% (110/193), more than four times as likely as 14.5% (45/311) in VDG (p<0.05). Conclusion Over sixty percent of suicide attempters discharged against medical advice. Further various aspects of national supportive measures including strengthening case management service should be considered.

The users of academic databases and R&D information often use search services to obtain necessary data for their studies. Most web users create various search queries and request these needed information from the system, and as a final destination of searching selected information lists and obtaining information, users are moved to the detailed page of the corresponding information. Similarly, in cases of academic information services providing journal and patent information, the final destination of the user is the specific metadata information page or the full article page, and in this case, providing other similar types of academic information and the names of researchers in other related fields is essential for satisfying the information requirements of the users. In case of the NTIS (National Science and Technology Information Service), it provides search services on national R&D information (tasks, participating personnel, research products, facilities and equipment, etc.), but lacks provision of similar documents within the same DB or among different DBs. In this article, the authors explain user queries and search items provided by the search engine, serviced by the NTIS for data categorized as research products including journals, patents, research reports, and trend analyses, and search service methods for listing similar documents within the same or different contents, and names of researchers in related fields using boosting technologies. This way, the R&D information desired by the user may be efficiently provided in the final service screen, which can reduce repeated efforts on searching.
Diverse display of non-covalent interacting elements using pyrimidine-embedded polyheterocycles

<P>A series of pyrimidine-embedded polyheterocycles was synthesized using a pDOS strategy in a facile manner. <▼1><P>A new divergent synthetic pathway for skeletally distinct pyrimidine-containing medium-sized azacycles was developed. Diversity-generating reactions <I>via</I> selective bond cleavages or migrations from N-quaternized intermediates were designed, and 14 discrete core skeletons were synthesized in an efficient manner. The skeletal diversity of the resulting molecular frameworks was confirmed by chemoinformatic analysis.</P></▼1><▼2><P>Medium-sized heterocycles have recently received significant attention because of their potential roles as modulators of protein–protein interactions, but their molecular diversity and synthetic availability are still inadequate to meet the demand.
