Objective-Autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) are a group of early childhood-onset neurodevelopmental disorders characterized by deficits in social interaction and language skills, and repetitive behaviors. Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) plays a critical role in the differentiation of normal neuronal cells during embryonic and postnatal neuronal development through its neurotrophic effects. Methods-In this study, we performed a family-based association test (FBAT) between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs; rs6265, rs11030101, rs7103411, and rs7103873) or haplotypes in the BDNF gene and affection status or several quantitative traits characterized by ADI-R with151 Korean trios, including a child diagnosed as ASDs. Results-While no significant association was found between SNPs or haplotypes and the ASDs disease status, a quantitative transmission disequilibrium test (QTDT) by using quantitative traits identified associations of the SNPs (rs6265 and rs11030101) with a domain score for “Restricted, Repetitive and Stereotyped patterns of behavior” (C domain), especially at the subdomain scores for “encompassing preoccupation or circumscribed pattern of interest” (C1) (rs6265A allele, dominant model, p-value=0.019; rs11030101 A allele, additive model, p-value=0.015) and “preoccupations with part of objects or non-functional elements of material” (C4) (rs11030101 A allele, additive model, p-value=0.015) within the ADI-R diagnostic algorithm. In addition, significant associations were also identified between the haplotypes and these quantitative traits (C1, p-value=0.016; C4, p-value=0.012). Conclusion-We conclude that BDNF gene polymorphisms have a possible role in the pathogenesis of ASDs.
자녀의 성인기이행이 부모의 결혼만족도 및 자녀관계만족도에 미치는 영향

Objective: The purpose of the present study was to examine how children’s transition to adulthood might be related to their parents’ marital satisfaction and relationship satisfaction with children. Specifically, we investigated if the numbers of children who (1) graduated from 4-year college, (2) were employed, (3) were married, (4) moved out of parental homes and lived independently, and (5) had at least one child might be associated with better marital satisfaction and higher relationship satisfaction with children among midlife and older parents. We also evaluated if the associations might differ by gender of the children (sons vs. daughters) as well as by their gender and birth order (first-born son, later-born son, first-born daughter, later-born daughter). Method: The analytic sample was drawn from the 2006 Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing. The sample consisted of 1,905 parents whose children were aged between 25 and 35. For analysis, regression models with robust standard errors were estimated using Stata. Results: Results suggest that sons’ (especially first-born sons’) transition to adulthood exerted more consistent impacts on parents. More specifically, first-born sons’ completion of higher education, marriage, and independent living arrangement were associated with either higher levels of parental marital satisfaction or relationship satisfaction with children. With regard to later-born sons, their completion of college education was linked to higher levels of parental marital satisfaction and relationship satisfaction with children. Conclusion: Korean parents appear to place greater importance on first-born sons’ successful transition to adulthood compared to those of other children. Overall, however, transition to adulthood may have limited influence on Korean parents.

Objectives : Recently, in Sasang Constitution Medicine (SCM), many researchers have studied to construct objective diagnose tool for the SCM type. It is most important to collect correct constitutional clinical data in these studies. Methods : In our work, we construct a web-based system for collecting constitutional clinical data effectively. Results & Conclusion : The system offers 4 types of input programs, which helps to collect clinical information from various hospitals, and performs verification service to minimize input errors. Currently, we have collected about four thousands data using the our system and we will provide several analysis tool in the system for researchers.
Antibacterial Activity of Hibicuslide C on Multidrug-Resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa Isolates

<P>Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a gram-negative bacterium that is frequently related to natural resistance to many drugs. In this work, the inhibition of growth against P. aeruginosa and multidrug-resistant P. aeruginosa (MDRPA) isolated from patients at Kyungpook National University was confirmed for hibicuslide C, essential oil components from Abutilon theophrasti. Hibicuslide C has antifungal activity with membrane disruption and apoptotic response against Candida albicans. However, its antibacterial activity was not reported yet. Cells treated with hibicuslide C was showed that its antipseudomonal activity is related to gDNA fragmentation and damage by TUNEL and gDNA electrophoresis. Furthermore, hibicuslide C worked synergistically with fluoroquinolones and rifampicin against MDRPA regardless of the ATP-associated mechanism. The antibiofilm activity possessed sole-resulting tissue culture plate method; besides that, the antibiofilm activity of other antibiotics was supported in particular MDRPA. The essential oil components like hibicuslide C may have antipseudomonal activity and, furthermore, increase in bacterial antibiotic susceptibility.</P>
동화 듣기 활동에서 발산적 발문 프로그램이 유아의 창의성에 미치는 효과

본 연구에서는 동화 듣기 활동에서 발산적 발문 프로그램이 유아의 창의성에 미치는 영향을 알아보았다. 연구대상은 만4-5세아로 실험집단과 비교집단 각 각 20명이었으며 검사도구는 전경원(1999)의 유아 종합 창의성 검사(K-CCTYC)를 사용하였다. 처치는 실험집단의 경우 유아의 침의성에 미치는 호과를 알아보기 위해 본 연구자가 개할한 발산적 발문 프로그램을 활용하여 10주간 30화 실시하였으며 비교집단은 동일한 조건으로 동일한 동화를 들려주고 동화 내용에 대한 질문 위주로 사후 활동을 실시하였다. 연구결과 영역별 창의성인 언어 창의성ㆍ도형 창의성ㆍ신체 창의성과 척도별 창의성인 유창성ㆍ융통성ㆍ독창성ㆍ상상력에서 발산적 발문 프로그램 활동 유아들이 동화 듣기 활동 유아들보다 통계적으로 유의미하게 증기하였음이 나타났다. The purpose of this study is to examine whether The Divergent Question Program through a fairy tale has a significant impact on Young Children's Creativity. This study was also intented to empirically test The divergent question program Activity is better than a fairy tale listening activity in classified creativity and index classified creativity. The subjects of this study was Forty four, five-year-old children in J and D Kindergarten. The experiment was performed from 9. 2. 2002 to 11. 8., three times per week for 10 weeks. The experiment treatment was to listen to the experiment group and to stimulate linguistic creativity, figural creativity and movement creativity. The primary object of this study was to examine whether divergent question program through a fairy tale affects young children fluency. The Program used in this study was developed by a researcher in order to advance young children creativity The Test tool was Korea Comprehensive Creativity Test for Young Children: K-CCTYC by Jeon, Kyung-Won. Data management was performed by SPSSWlN 10.0, T-test was use for analysis. The results of this study were as follows. First, The analysis of Linguistic Creativity, Figural Creativity, Movement Creativity by t-test post-test data showed a statistically significant difference between two groups The divergent question program Activity is better than a fairy tale listening activity. Second, The analysis of Fluency, Flexibility, Originality, Imagination by t-test post-test data showed a statistically significant difference between two groups The divergent question Activity is better than a fairy tale listening activity. The results showed that Divergent Question was statistically significant in creativity scores and index classified creativity scores, Divergent Question positively affects development of young children's creativity.
