Local ablation for hepatocellular carcinoma, a non-surgical option that directly targets and destroys tumor cells, has advanced significantly since the 1990s. Therapies with different energy sources, such as radiofrequency ablation, microwave ablation, and cryoablation, employ different mechanisms to induce tumor necrosis. The precision, safety, and effectiveness of these therapies have increased with advances in guiding technologies and device improvements. Consequently, local ablation has become the first-line treatment for early-stage hepatocellular carcinoma. The lack of organized evidence and expert opinions regarding patient selection, preprocedure preparation, procedural methods, swift post-treatment evaluation, and follow-up has resulted in clinicians following varied practices. Therefore, an expert consensus-based practical recommendation for local ablation was developed by a group of experts in radiology and hepatology from the Research Committee of the Korean Liver Cancer Association in collaboration with the Korean Society of Image-Guided Tumor Ablation to provide useful information and guidance for performing local ablation and for the pre- and post-treatment management of patients.

Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) has been widely used to manage hepatocellular carcinomas (HCCs) equal to or smaller than 3 cm. No-touch RFA has gained attention and has recently been implemented in local ablation therapy for HCCs, despite its technical complexity, as it provides improved local tumor control compared to conventional tumor-puncturing RFA. This article presents the practice guidelines for performing no-touch RFA for HCCs, which have been endorsed by the Korean Society of Image-Guided Tumor Ablation (KSITA). The guidelines are primarily designed to assist interventional oncologists and address the limitations of conventional tumor-puncturing RFA with describing the fundamental principles, various energy delivery methods, and clinical outcomes of no-touch RFA. The clinical outcomes include technical feasibility, local tumor progression rates, survival outcomes, and potential complications.

Objective: To evaluate the current status of managing adverse reactions to iodinated contrast media (ICM) for computed tomography in referral hospitals in South Korea compared with hospitals in other countries. Materials and Methods: This survey investigation involved 59 Korean and 15 overseas hospitals using guideline-based questionnaires consisting of 24 items in 7 main categories related to managing adverse reactions to ICM. Results: Informed written consent with risk factor evaluation was appropriately performed in most of the Korean hospitals. There was considerable variability in assessing renal function across the hospitals; serum creatinine level was used as a reference in 76.4% of Korean hospitals. The Korean hospitals preferred a more stringent approach to determining normal renal function (p = 0.01), withholding metformin (p = 0.01), and fasting before ICM exposure (p < 0.001) compared with overseas hospitals. All the Korean hospitals had an emergency protocol and in-hospital system for adverse reactions to ICM. The Korean (87.7%) and overseas hospitals (100%) were similarly equipped with epinephrine (p = 0.332), but only 38.6% of Korean hospitals were equipped with a bronchodilator (p = 0.004). For patients with a previous hypersensitivity reaction to ICM, 62.3% of Korean hospitals pre-medicated with anti-histamine and corticosteroid according to the severity of the previous reaction, and changed the culprit ICM in 52.8%, while skin test was performed in 17%. Conclusion: In general, Korean referral hospitals were well-prepared regarding informed consent, protocol, and an inhospital system for managing adverse reactions to ICM. Nevertheless, there was considerable variability in details and management, thus requiring standardization by reflecting current guidelines.
XML 캐쉬의 점진적 갱신을 위한 XML 변경 처리 모델

XML이 웹 상에서 데이터 교환의 표준으로 부각된 이래 XML 데이터의 효율적 관리 기법에 관한 연구가 활발히 수행되고 있다. XML 질의의 표준화 작업도 활발히 이루어져 현재 XQuery가 유력한 표준으로 부각되었다. 그러나 XQuery 등이 완전한 XML 질의어가 되기 위해서는 변경 연산을 제공해야 하는데 XML 변경어의 표준화 작업이나 XML 변경 처리 기법에 대한 연구는 아직 미미한 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 e-Commerce 등 XML 데이터베이스 기반 웹 응용의 효율적 지원을 위한 XML 캐쉬를 점진적으로 갱신하는 과정에서 발생하는 XML 변경 연산 처리의 세가지 기본 모델, TD (텍스트/DOM 기반), PD (PDOM 기반), 그리고 IT (인덱스된 텍스트 기반)를 제안한다. 캐쉬된 XML 문서를 어떤 포맷으로 저장하는가는 이후 XML 변경 연산의 처리 및 요청된 XML 문서 반환의 효율성에 영향을 미친다. 이들 모델들은 캐쉬된 XML 문서의 저장 포맷에 따라 구분한 것이다. 이들 모델 각각에 대하여 캐쉬된 XML 문서의 갱신 및 반환 기능을 제공하는 XML 캐쉬 관리 시스템을 구현하여 이들 기능의 성능 및 공간 부담을 평가한 결과를 기술한다.
Lucas-Kanade 알고리즘과 SVM을 이용한 얼굴 정규화 및 정면 얼굴 영상 판별

입력된 얼굴 영상으로부터 정면/비 정면 얼굴을 판별하는 기술은 매우 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 정면 얼굴 영상 판별 문제를 해결하기 위해서 학습 DB의 정면 얼굴 영상들로부터 얼굴을 검출하고 검출된 얼굴 영상들로부터 평균 얼굴 영상을 만든다. 이렇게 만든 평균얼굴영상을 템플릿 이미지(Template Image)로 두어 LK(Lucas-Kanade) 알고리즘으로 정면/비 정면 얼굴영상들을 각각 평균얼굴영상에 맞도록 어파인 변환(Affine Transform)을 한 뒤 최소 근사 오차일 때의 결과 영상을 정면/비 정면 얼굴에 대해서 학습함으로써 최적의 정면 얼굴 분류기를 생성하게 된다. 제안된 방법은 기존의 눈 검출을 기반으로 한 방법에 비해 보다 향상된 성능으로 정면 얼굴 영상을 판별 할 수 있다.
XML 스트리밍 데이터에 대한 시구간 질의 처리 시스템 모델

스트리밍 데이터 처리는 여러 분야에서 많은 관심을 가지고 활발한 연구가 수행되고 있다. 특히 모니터링, 센서 네트워크등의 응용 분야에서 끊임없이 생성되는 대량의 스트리밍 데이터 처리를 위한 요구가 높아지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 XML 스트리밍 데이터에 대한 시구간 질의 처리 시스템 모델을 제시한다. 스트리밍 데이터 모델로 웹상의 데이터 교환 표준으로 자리잡은 XML 을 사용하였고 연속적인 질의 처리를 위해 시구간이 명시된 XQuery 를 질의 모델로 사용하였다. 제시된 시스템에서는 질의 처리의 성능 향상을 기하기 위해 질의 결과 값을 백그라운드 프로세싱으로 생성하고 그것을 캐슁하여 후속 질의의 결과 값에 반영하는 캐슁 기법을 제공한다.

This paper is concerned with a biped robot walking in dynamic gaits. To this end, a three-dimensional 12-DOF robot is considered possessing a torso and two identical legs of a kinematically ingenious design. Specific walking patterns are off-line generated meeting stability based on the ZMP condition. Subsequently, to verify whether the robot can walk as planned, a multi-body dynamics CAE code has been applied to the corresponding joint motions determined by inverse kinematics. In this manner, complex mass effects could be accurately evaluated for the robot model. As a result, the key parameters to successful gaits arc identified including inherent characteristics as weii. Aiso, joint actuator capacities are found required to carry out those gaits.
