Objectives: This study aimed to identify factors associated with initiation and adherence of osteoporosis medication from a patient perspective. Methods: A web-based survey was developed based on health behavior theories. Descriptive analyses were conducted for all survey items. Analyses in a structural equation modeling framework were conducted to identify factors associated with treatment initiation and adherence. Results: Five hundred forty-five women completed the questionnaire. A majority were currently receiving medications for osteoporosis (n ¼ 376, 69.0%) and 25.0% of these patients (n ¼ 94) were considered adherent to their treatment. Knowledge was strongly associated with osteoporosis treatment initiation (standard error [SE], 0.58). Greater knowledge of disease was associated with increased likelihood of initiating medication. Medication complexity (SE, 0.49) and perceived susceptibility to fracture and loss of independence (SE, 0.37) were also associated with initiation. Perceived barriers (SE, 0.85) such as inconvenience, lack of efficacy and financial burden were observed to be the greatest obstacle to adherence. The greater the perceived barriers, the less likely patients were to adhere to medication. Patients' perception of self-efficacy (SE, 0.37) also affected adherence. The greater the patient perception of ability to independently manage their medication, the more likely they were to adhere to the medication. Conclusions: Different factors were found to be associated with initiation and adherence of osteoporosis medication. Patient knowledge of their disease and the perception of barriers were found to be the most influential. Empowering patients with the knowledge to better understand their disease and decreasing the perception of barriers through education initiatives may be effective in improving patient outcomes. © 2017 The Korean Society of Osteoporosis. We start to develop a predictable technology for thermal-hydraulic performance of the RMWR core using an advanced numerical simulation technology. As a part of this technology development, we are developing the advanced interface tracking method to improve the conservation of volume of fluid. The present paper describes a part of the development of the twophase flow simulation code TPFIT with the advanced interface tracking method. The numerical results applied to large-scale water-vapor two-phase flow in tight lattice rod bundles are shown and compared with experimental results. In the results of numerical simulation, a tendency of the predicted void fraction distribution in horizontal plane agreed with the measured values obtained by the advanced neutron radiography technique including the bridge formation of the liquid at the position of adjacent fuel rods where an interval is the narrowest.

Heavy fluorocarbons and perfluoropolyether liquids are ideal media for high power stimulated Brillouin scat-tering experiments from ultraviolet to infrared laser. Stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) reflectivity and threshold of new SBS liquids were measured systematically at four wavelengths (1064, 532, 355 and 266 nm). Fluorinert FC-72, -75, -77 and Galden HT 70, -135 exhibits high reflectivity of over 90 % and excellent fidel-ity in phase conjugation for over 100 mJ, 10 ns optical pulse at 1064, 532, and 355 run. Among them, FC-77 and HT 70 were found to be good candidates to replace FC-72, -75 liquids which previously were known to be a good SBS media up to now. Heavy fluorocarbons and perfluoropolyether liquids are most promising as a phase conjugate SBS mirror for all solid-state high-energy lasers because of its high damage threshold and low absorbance.

The consumer is living in the frame which is called a city and is leading life through "the purchase act". As for there not being "the purchase act", our life doesn't stand up. It is possible to say that the retail trade it therefore occupies the mailbox which is important in the urban function. However, as for former research, the functional model about the retail trade in the city leaned to the gross income of the customer development degree of each retail store and the retail trade in the city and the overall show of the model of "the role of the retail trade in the city" wasn't done. Therefore, at this article, it focuses on the retail business status, the chain store which has a multitude ready in the retail trade, and it has a purpose of seizing out boiling and considering and making a new hypothesis about how the retail trade which is one of the urban functions contributes to the city.

Black tea is a popular beverage worldwide. Theaflavins (TFs), which are active functional components of black tea, are potentially valuable for preventing and/or treating the progression of periodontal diseases. Our previous pilot study showed that TF intake decreases the number of Porphyromonas gingivalis (P. gingivalis) bacteria in the saliva. In this study, we aimed to determine whether TF intake improves periodontal disease attributed to oral bacteria in a randomized, placebo-controlled, and double-blind study. A total of 56 healthy subjects without periodontal diseases were enrolled and assigned to the placebo and TF groups (n = 28). TF intake for 6 weeks did not significantly alter the clinical evaluation of subjects. There was no significant adverse effect among the subjects. The number of P. gingivalis and Fusobacterium nucleatum (F. nucleatum) bacteria, which was the primary endpoint in this study, was not impacted by TF intake. The change ratio of Prevotella intermedia was significantly decreased by TF intake (P = .043) when compared with the placebo group. Collectively, our findings suggest that TFs have beneficial effects on oral bacteria for the prevention of periodontal disease. The study protocol was registered in the University Hospital Medical Information Network (UMIN000020049).

The magnetization of a single-crystalline sample of TbZn2 was measured under high magneticfields up to 180 kOe in the temperature range from 4.2 to 90 K. The metamagnetic transitionswere observed in the directions of all axes at temperatures below TN and along the c-axis attemperatures above TN. The metamagnetic transition field HM along the c-axis at temperaturesabove TN increases with increasing temperature.
