      • Iceberg-cubes with Entropy Query for Data Compression Processing

Haiyong Luo 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Hybrid Information Techno Vol.9 No.3

As the increasing usage of data generating devices like cameras, mobile phones, Auto-ID technologies, and so on, huge amount of data are created. Data compression is very important. In order to use the suitable compression methods on reducing the data volume, this paper uses iceberg-cubes to compress the data based on the entropy query mechanism. Using the definition of iceberg-cubes, this paper uses the entropy query principle for getting the key value from the original datasets. The iceberg-cubes are then used for generating the compressed data which should be stored in the hardware devices. It is observed that these proposed algorithms could achieve 32.46% compression ratio averagely.

Multifractal-based Multiplicative Cascades Model for Network Applications

Haiyong Luo 보안공학연구지원센터 2014 International Journal of Control and Automation Vol.7 No.11

A computer network is a telecommunications network that allows computers to share, exchange, and transmit data. Thus, the network flow rate is very critical. How to measure the flow rate attracted large number of attentions from both academia and practical parties. This paper proposes a multifractal-based multiplicative cascades model for network applications, especially to analyze the test the network flow rate. It is observed that the fitting is well so that the proposed model is able to work out the flow rate in the network applications. In addition, the model using the multifractal-based multiplicative cascades is able to illustrate the trends of the flow rate in the network applications.

Bacterial cellulose/graphene oxide nanocomposite as a novel drug delivery system

        Honglin Luo,Haiyong Ao,Gen Li,Wei Li,Guangyao Xiong,Yong Zhu,Yizao Wan 한국물리학회 2017 Current Applied Physics Vol.17 No.2

Graphene-based nanocarriers not only possess large specific surface area but also prevent drugs from premature release outside the target cells. However, agglomeration in aqueous solution is a critical challenge. In this work, graphene oxide (GO) was uniformly embedded into the three-dimensional (3D) porous network of bacterial cellulose (BC) to form a novel BC/GO nanocomposite drug nanocarrier. For the first time, ibuprofen (IBU) was loaded onto the BC/GO nanocomposites. Scanning electron microscope (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) reveal the successful drug loading onto BC/GO nanocomposites. In vitro drug release studies indicate that the drug release of IBU@BC/GO follows a non-Fickian diffusion mechanism. Another important feature of this BC/GO nanocarrier is its better cell viability in comparison to BC. It is believed that this new nanocarrier is a potential choice for drug delivery system.

Task Assignment Model for Crowdsourcing Software Development: TAM

        Muhammad Zahid Tunio,Haiyong Luo,Cong Wang,Fang Zhao,Abdul Rehman Gilal,Wenhua Shao 한국정보처리학회 2018 Journal of information processing systems Vol.14 No.3

Selection of a suitable task from the extensively available large set of tasks is an intricate job for the developersin crowdsourcing software development (CSD). Besides, it is also a tiring and a time-consuming job for theplatform to evaluate thousands of tasks submitted by developers. Previous studies stated that managerial andtechnical aspects have prime importance in bringing success for software development projects, however, these two aspects can be more effective and conducive if combined with human aspects. The main purpose ofthis paper is to present a conceptual framework for task assignment model for future research on the basis ofpersonality types, that will provide a basic structure for CSD workers to find suitable tasks and also a platformto assign the task directly. This will also match their personality and task. Because personality is an internalforce which whittles the behavior of developers. Consequently, this research presented a Task AssignmentModel (TAM) from a developers point of view, moreover, it will also provide an opportunity to the platformto assign a task to CSD workers according to their personality types directly.

Crowdsourcing Software Development: Task Assignment Using PDDL Artificial Intelligence Planning

( Muhammad Zahid Tunio ),( Haiyong Luo ),( Cong Wang ),( Fang Zhao ),( Wenhua Shao ),( Zulfiqar Hussain Pathan ) 한국정보처리학회 2018 Journal of information processing systems Vol.14 No.1

The crowdsourcing software development (CSD) is growing rapidly in the open call format in a competitive environment. In CSD, tasks are posted on a web-based CSD platform for CSD workers to compete for the task and win rewards. Task searching and assigning are very important aspects of the CSD environment because tasks posted on different platforms are in hundreds. To search and evaluate a thousand submissions on the platform are very difficult and time-consuming process for both the developer and platform. However, there are many other problems that are affecting CSD quality and reliability of CSD workers to assign the task which include the required knowledge, large participation, time complexity and incentive motivations. In order to attract the right person for the right task, the execution of action plans will help the CSD platform as well the CSD worker for the best matching with their tasks. This study formalized the task assignment method by utilizing different situations in a CSD competition-based environment in artificial intelligence (AI) planning. The results from this study suggested that assigning the task has many challenges whenever there are undefined conditions, especially in a competitive environment. Our main focus is to evaluate the AI automated planning to provide the best possible solution to matching the CSD worker with their personality type.

Silencing MR-1 attenuates atherosclerosis in ApoE-/- mice induced by angiotensin II through FAK-Akt -mTOR-NF-kappaB signaling pathway

        Chen, Yixi,Cao, Jianping,Zhao, Qihui,Luo, Haiyong,Wang, Yiguang,Dai, Wenjian The Korean Society of Pharmacology 2018 The Korean Journal of Physiology & Pharmacology Vol.22 No.2

Myofibrillogenesis regulator-1 (MR-1) is a novel protein involved in cellular proliferation, migration, inflammatory reaction and signal transduction. However, little information is available on the relationship between MR-1 expression and the progression of atherosclerosis. Here we report atheroprotective effects of silencing MR-1 in a model of Ang II-accelerated atherosclerosis, characterized by suppression focal adhesion kinase (FAK) and nuclear factor kappaB ($NF-{\kappa}B$) signaling pathway, and atherosclerotic lesion macrophage content. In this model, administration of the siRNA-MR-1 substantially attenuated Ang II-accelerated atherosclerosis with stabilization of atherosclerotic plaques and inhibited FAK, Akt, mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) and NF-kB activation, which was associated with suppression of inflammatory factor and atherogenic gene expression in the artery. In vitro studies demonstrated similar changes in Ang II-treated vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) and macrophages: siRNA-MR-1 inhibited the expression levels of proinflammatory factor. These studies uncover crucial proinflammatory mechanisms of Ang II and highlight actions of silencing MR-1 to inhibit Ang II signaling, which is atheroprotective.

Simultaneously depositing polyaniline onto bacterial cellulose nanofibers and graphene nanosheets toward electrically conductive nanocomposites

        Yizao Wan,Jin Li,Zhiwei Yang,Haiyong Ao,Lingling Xiong,Honglin Luo 한국물리학회 2018 Current Applied Physics Vol.18 No.8

In this study, we report the construction of a ternary flexible nanocomposite of bacterial cellulose/graphene/polyaniline (BC/GE/PANI) via a facile two-step strategy. Bacterial cellulose/graphene (BC/GE) is first prepared by a novel in situ membrane-liquid-interface method, in which the three-dimensional continuous BC nanofibers can be maintained and the introduced GE can improve the mechanical properties mainly due to the uniform dispersion of GE in the BC matrix. To construct the effectively interconnected conductive paths between separated GE nanosheets, polyaniline (PANI) is simultaneously deposited on the surfaces of both BC nanofibers and GE nanosheets to obtain BC/GE/PANI with excellent electrical conductivity. It is found that the as-prepared BC/GE/PANI has an electrical conductivity of 1.7 ± 0.1 S cm−1, which is higher than most of PANI-based composites. It is believed that the BC/GE/PANI nanocomposite possesses great potential for applications in electromagnetic shielding and flexible electrodes.
