Fractal Dimension Analysis of MDCT Images for Quantifying the Morphological Changes of the Pulmonary Artery Tree in Patients with Pulmonary Hypertension

        Sun Haitao,Li Ning,Guo Lijun,Gao Fei,Liu Cheng 대한영상의학회 2011 Korean Journal of Radiology Vol.12 No.3

Objective: The aim of this study was to use fractal dimension (FD) analysis on multidetector CT (MDCT) images for quantifying the morphological changes of the pulmonary artery tree in patients with pulmonary hypertension (PH). Materials and Methods: Fourteen patients with PH and 17 patients without PH as controls were studied. All of the patients underwent contrast-enhanced helical CT and transthoracic echocardiography. The pulmonary artery trees were generated using post-processing software, and the FD and projected image area of the pulmonary artery trees were determined with ImageJ software in a personal computer. The FD, the projected image area and the pulmonary artery pressure (PAP) were statistically evaluated in the two groups. Results: The FD, the projected image area and the PAP of the patients with PH were higher than those values of the patients without PH (p < 0.05, t-test). There was a high correlation of FD with the PAP (r = 0.82, p < 0.05, partial correlation analysis). There was a moderate correlation of FD with the projected image area (r = 0.49, p < 0.05, partial correlation analysis). There was a correlation of the PAP with the projected image area (r = 0.65, p < 0.05, Pearson correlation analysis). Conclusion: The FD of the pulmonary arteries in the PH patients was significantly higher than that of the controls. There is a high correlation of FD with the PAP. Wind engineering for high-rise buildings: A review

        Haitao Zhu,Bin Yang,Qilin Zhang,Licheng Pan,Siyuan Sun 한국풍공학회 2021 Wind and Structures, An International Journal (WAS Vol.32 No.3

As high-rise buildings become more and more slender and flexible, the wind effect has become a major concern to modern buildings. At present, wind engineering for high-rise buildings mainly focuses on the following four issues: wind excitation and response, aerodynamic damping, aerodynamic modifications and proximity effect. Taking these four issues of concern in high-rise buildings as the mainline, this paper summarizes the development history and current research progress of wind engineering for high-rise buildings. Some critical previous work and remarks are listed at the end of each chapter. From the future perspective, the CFD is still the most promising technique for structural wind engineering. The wind load inversion and the introduction of machine learning are two research directions worth exploring.

      • Research on Analysis of Sports Video based on the Statistics

        Haitao Yang,Jia Wang,Jingmeng Sun 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of u- and e- Service, Scienc Vol.8 No.12

We turn to statistical-based methods and propose a statistical inference approach by using Dynamic Bayesian Network, which is able to learn automatically from data set. By soccer video analysis is as an example, the proposed method is verified by experiment. We extract the color, shape and other low-level features from the video, to detect and identify 5 kinds of high-level semantic events using dynamic Bayesian network model. The experimental results show that our method is effective.

Hierarchical Architectures of PMMA/MWNT-NH2 Particles: A Material for Enhanced Volatile Organic Compound Sensing Performance

        Haitao Li,Yang Sun,최형진,Siqin Zhao 한국고분자학회 2018 Macromolecular Research Vol.26 No.9

Hierarchical architectures of poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA)/aminofunctionalized multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWNT-NH2) particles were prepared, in which the electrical conductive network was constructed on the surface of PMMA microspheres. The morphology, composition, and electrical conductivity of the particles were characterized by transmission electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, and four-probe electrical conductivity measurement. The PMMA/MWNT-NH2 transducers were exposed to each ethanol, water, toluene, and chloroform for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) sensing detection. The particles showed excellent sensitivity, good reversibility, and a strong response compared to the raw MWNTs and MWNT-NH2. This was attributed not only to the formation of a charge transmission path on the particle surface, but also to the interaction between the vapor molecules and functionalized MWNTs. The enhanced sensing performance of the PMMA/MWNT-NH2 particles suggests that it is a good candidate for the preparation of electronic noses for disease diagnostics and VOCs detection.

      • Detection of Corner Event Based on Hidden Markov Model in Soccer Video

Haitao Yang,Jia Wang,Jingmeng Sun 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Signal Processing, Image Vol.8 No.12

A corner event detection method based on HMM (Hidden Markov Model) in soccer videos. Through analysis of the semantic structure of corner events, define and extract six multi- modal semantic clues to describe shot sequences, which constitute observation sequences as the HMM model input. By the iterative training of the HMM model and the continuous optimization of model parameters, construct the HMM model of corner events. From two aspects of audio and video, dig the inherent pattern of corner events and realize corner events automatic detection based on HMM accurately. The experimental results show that the present method achieves 89.6% recall and 96.3% precision, which has the better performance.

A fluorescent probe for colorimetric detection of bisulfite and application in sugar and red wine

        Haitao Chen,Xiaoming Wu,Jialin Wang,Hao Wang,Feiyan Tao,Shaoxiang Yang,Hongyu Tian,Yongguo Liu,Baoguo Sun 한국식품과학회 2019 Food Science and Biotechnology Vol.28 No.4

A new fluorescent probe made from (E)-2-(benzo[d]thiazol-2-yl)-3-(6-hydroxynaphthalen-2-yl) acrylonitrile(Probe 1) was synthesized for the determination ofbisulfite concentrations in real food samples (red wine andsugar). Adding bisulfite to a Probe 1 solution caused amarked decrease in fluorescence intensity and a visualcolor change from yellow to light yellow. This distinctcolor response indicates that Probe 1 could be used as avisual sensor for bisulfite. Probe 1 can detect bisulfitequantitatively in the range 0–400 lM with a detection limitof 0.10 lM. This makes Probe 1 a convenient signalinginstrument for determining bisulfite levels in sugar and redwine samples.

Finite-time Set Stabilization of Impulsive Probabilistic Boolean Control Networks via Time-variant Feedback Control

        Qilong Sun,Wenying Hou,Haitao Li,Jing Wang 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2022 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.20 No.11

This paper investigates the finite-time set stabilization of impulsive probabilistic Boolean control networks (IPBCNs) by designing time-variant state feedback control. Based on the semi-tensor product method, the algebraic form is established for the given IPBCNs. Then, a constructive method is proposed to design time-variant state feedback controller for the set stabilization of IPBCNs. In order to reduce the control execution time, a specific method is put forward to construct the event-triggered state feedback control (ETSFC). Furthermore, the obtained results are applied to both state synchronization and output synchronization of master-slave IPBCNs.

Comparison of the Prognostic Value of Platelet-Related Indices in Biliary Tract Cancer Undergoing Surgical Resection

        Lejia Sun,Yuxi Wei,Yang Chen,Wenmo Hu,Xin Ji,Haifeng Xu,Shunda Du,Haitao Zhao,Xin Lu,Xinting Sang,Shouxian Zhong,Huayu Yang,Yilei Mao 대한암학회 2021 Cancer Research and Treatment Vol.53 No.2

Purpose Platelet-related indices, including mean platelet volume (MPV) and plateletocrit (PCT), have been reported as new prognostic factors of overall survival (OS) in many cancers, but not yet in biliary tract cancer (BTC). We intended to assess these indices in predicting OS in BTC patients with the aim to build a new prognostic model for patients with BTC after surgical resection. Materials and Methods Survival analysis and time receiver operating characteristic analysis were applied to screen the platelet indices. Univariate and multivariate Cox analyses were used to identify independent prognostic factors and develop a new prognostic model. Harrell’s C-statistics, calibration curves, and decisive curve analysis were used to assess the model. Results MPV and platelet distribution width (PDW)/PCT showed the best prognostic accuracy among the platelet indices. In multivariable analysis, factors predictive of poor OS were presence of nodal involvement, Non-radical surgery, poor tumor differentiation, carbohydrate antigen 19-9 > 100 U/mL, MPV > 8.1 fl, and PDW/PCT > 190. The new model was found to be superior to the TNM staging system and our new staging system showed higher discriminative power. Conclusion MPV and PDW/PCT have high prognostic value in BTC patients, and the novel staging system based on these two indices showed good discrimination and accuracy compared with the American Joint Committee on Cancer 7th TNM staging system.
