<P>Polycarbosilane is the most typical polymeric precursor for SiC ceramic. In this study, liquid type polycarbosilane was synthesized from polydimethylsilane in the presence of solid acid catalyst at 350oC. The molecular weights of the polycarbosilane were ranged between 350 and 530. Synthesized polycarbosilane was characterized with 29Si Solid NMR, FT-IR and GPC analysis. The synthesized polycarbosilane can be used as a good organometallic precursor for SiC coating via chemical vapor deposition or spin coating.</P>

<P>Polycarbosilane was synthesized from polydimethylsilane in the presence of ZSM-5 (Si/Al=30) as a catalyst at 350oC-400oC. Characterization of synthesized polycarbosilane was performed with 29Si Solid NMR, FT-IR, and GPC analysis. Number average of molecular weight (Mn) of the polycarbosilane was ranged from 350 to 2340.</P>
Size Effect of CaCO<sub>3</sub> Filler on the Mechanical Properties of SMC Composites

<P>SMC composites consist of chopped glass fiber as a reinforcements, polyester and mineral fillers. Among them, filler is one of the important factors for improving mechanical and thermal properties of composites, but it has not drawn much attention for SMC composites. In this study, the size effect of calcium carbonate as mineral filler on mechanical properties of SMC composites was discussed using five different sizes of commercial calcium carbonates without chopped fiber reinforcement, to focus on the size effect itself. The SMC process was modified to be suitable for a laboratory scale composed of three steps. The mean sizes of the calcium carbonates were 3 - 20 μm, and the specific surface areas were calculated to be 1 - 5 m<SUP>2</SUP>/g by BET. Small size of calcium carbonate having high surface area up to 4 m<SUP>2</SUP>/g showed high thermal resistance, and showed higher strength comparing to the large fillers because it affected to form a dense packed microstructure.</P>

<P>Drug loaded polyurethane (PU) thin layer was prepared on the silicone tube by electrospinning technique. Microstructure of the PU layer was varied from nanoporous web to dense coating depending on the polymer solution concentration and the amount of drug loaded. It can be easily adjusted the coating thickness and porosity accurately and controlled the drug loading and releasing properties. However, adhesive strength between PU layer and silicone tube was very weak and easily broken away and white turbidity also another important problem. So, surface of silicone tube was atmospheric-pressure plasma (APP) treated for improving the adhesive and removing white turbidity phenomenon.</P>

연구목적: 닌텐도 위를 이용한 가상현실기반 비디오게임 프로그램을 만성기 뇌졸중 환자에게 적용하여 균형능력 및 일상생활동작에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보고, 뇌졸중 환자의 재활프로그램으로서 적용 가능성이 있는지 알아보고자 한다. 연구방법: 만성기 뇌졸중 환자를 무작위로 가상현실기반 비디오게임 프로그램을 적용한 실험군(n=7)과 적용하지 않은 대조군(n=10)으로 구분하여 연구를 진행하였다. 연구에 참여한 모든 대상자에게 30분의 Bobath therapy와 15분간의 FES 치료를 기본적으로 실시하였다. 이에 더하여 실험군은 가상현실기반 비디오게임 프로그램을 1일 30분이내, 주 5회, 3주간 실시하였다. 대조군은 자전거 운동과 보행훈련으로 30분간 시행하였다. 실험 전 후 눈뜨고 외발서기(OLST; open leg standing test), Timed Up and Go(TUG) 검사, 10m 걷기 검사, Functional Independence Measure(FIM)를 측정하였다. 실험 전과 실험 후 측정값의 차이를 비교하기 위해 Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test를 실시하였다. 그리고 각 측정값의 변화량에 대한 실험군과 대조군 사이의 차이를 알아보기 위해 Mann-Whitney U Test를 실시하였다. 연구결과: 실험결과는 다음과 같다. 1) 실험군에서는 FIM의 유의한 증가와 TUG, 10m 걷기 검사의 유의한 감소를(p<.05) 보였다. 대조군에서는 OLST의 증가와 TUG, 10m walking test의 감소가 나타났지만 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다. 오직 FIM에서만 유의한 증가가 나타났다(p<.05). 2) 실험 전 후의 실험군과 대조군의 각 측정값들의 평균차를 비교한 결과 실험군은 대조군보다 실험 전 후 OLST, TUG, 10m walking test 차이의 평균은 컸지만 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다. 결론: 이상의 결과로부터 가상현실기반 비디오게임이 만성기 뇌졸중 환자의 동적균형능력 및 일상생활동작 향상에 효과가 있음을 알 수 있었다.

Honey is an important food resource for human. Because Korea is characterized by both of temperate and microthermal climate with four seasons, various seasonal honey plants are available during all seasons. Among them, the false acacia (Robinia pseudoacacia) accounts for more than 70% of the honey production in Korea. Since 2014, in Korea, the honey production has been generally decreased and sudden drop of the acacia honey production in 2018 and 2020 (19.1% and 12.9% of the average production) caused severe economic losses in the bee farms. The decreased acacia honey production in both years was expected by abnormal climate changes occurred in either before or after the acacia flowering season. The optimal activity time of the honey bee during an acacia flowering season was calculated in the six different regions separated in three parts of Korea from 2018 to 2020. The mean optimal activity time of honey bee was 4.6±1.7, 6.4±0.6 and 3.9±1.0 hours in 2018, 2019 and 2020, respectively. Further, we plan to continually collect annual honey production data and climate information and provide it to the bee keepers, thereby reducing the economic damage of bee farms.

Research has shown that many smokers experience an increase in the desire to smoke when exposed to smoking-related cues. Cue exposure treatment (CET) refers to the manualized, repeated exposure to smoking-related cues, aimed at the reducing cue reactivity by extinction. In this study, we constructed a virtual reality system for evoking a desire of nicotine, which was based on the results of a Questionnaire of Nicotine-craving. And we investigated the effectiveness of the virtual reality system as compared to classical device (pictures). As a result, we reached the conclusion that virtual reality elicits more craving symptoms than the classical devices.
