        의복을 이용한 내한성 향상 훈련이 내열성에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of the improved cold tolerance resulting from cool clothing in winter on heat tolerance in summer. Ten healthy women were divided into two groups, cold group(C group) (n=5) and warm group(W group) (n=5). In the previous study, C group was proved that their cold acclimatization was achieved through wearing cool clothing from September to February of the following year, while Wgroup was not proved because of wearing warm clothing during same period. After February, no more clothing training was continued in two groups. To determine the heat tolerance, both groups were exposed from a thermoneutral environment (25±1˚C,50±5% R.H.) to a hot environment (35±1˚C, 50±5% R.H.) before and after clothing training, respectively September in 1994 and July in 1995. Rectal temperature, skin temperatures, thermal sensation and comfort were measured every 10 min., and O_2 uptake was measured at 10, 45, 85 min. after entering the chamber for 5 min. Body weight was measured before and after the experiment and amount of local sweat was measured during the 90 min long experiment. The results are as follows: Rectal temperatures in 35˚C environment of C group were increased after training when compared with before clothing, while those of W group were not changed. But the changes of rectal temperature and heat production during 90 min in hot environment were almost the same in two groups after training. And mean skin temperatures, the changes of mean skin temperatures during 90 min in hot environment, total sweat amount and local sweat amount after training were also the same in two groups. From these results, it might be supposed that the heat loss of two groups were the same but the heat production, especially heat production during rest in C group was higher than in Wgroup. This fact suggests that the increase of rest heat production from cold acclimatization in winter is maintained to summer of the following year. And mild cold acclimatization coming from wearing cool clothing does not have a negative effect on heat tolerance.

        Barkhausen noise를 이용한 1Cr-1Mo-0.25V강의 열화도 평가

        It is inevitable to evaluate the life of turbine rotor because the operating periods of power plants need to be extended. For the test, seven kinds of specimens with different degradation levels were prepared by the isothermal heat treatment at $630^{\circ}C$. Magnetic methods utilizing Barkhausen noise coercive force($BN_c$) were applied to detect the degradation caused by thermal aging. Magnetic property of material is related with domain dynamics and that is affected by the microstructure of material. Therefore $BN_c$ is very sensitive to the microstructure change of the material. With the increase of degradation, $BN_c$ was decreased and this phenomenon is considered due to precipitations and grain size. The result was compared with Vickers hardness($H_v$) and coercive force($H_c$) to detect the relative variation, and was related with $H_v$ and YS to estimate the change of the mechanical properties with the degradation.

        신체의 부위별 피복이 (被服) 체온조절 및 주관적인 감각에 미치는 영향 (Ⅱ)

        In this study the physiological significance of the upper and lower body on thermoregulation and sensation are examined. Experiments were carried out on 4 females in a climatic chamber conditioned at 25±1℃, 50±5% R.H.. Before the measurements, subjects were exposed to 3 types of enviromental temperature: 1) 25±1℃ for 60 min.(ST), 2) 25℃→35℃→25℃ for about 40 min.(HT), 3) 25℃→15℃→ 25C for about 40 min.(LT) covering the upper body (U) or lower body (L) with garments. 1) Tre was significantly higher in L than in U only in ST condition. TSk and Temp. under the clothing were higher in U than in L in all three conditions. Thermal sensation was warmer in U than in L, and comfort sensation was most comfortable in HT condition. 2) When the upper or lower body was covered or exposed, the mean skin temperature of the upper body was higher than that of the lower body. Following covering and uncovering the same area, the changes in skin temperature were greater in the upper body than in lower body, and covering the upper body produced a greater difference of skin temperature between body and lower body than covering the lower body. 3) In all environmental conditions, when the upper body was uncovered, `the skin temperatures of the chest, upper arms and forearms dropped to a considerable degree, and when the lower body was uncovered, skin temperatures of the legs showed the same pattern. On the other hand, skin temperature of the thinghs showed only little change in all cases except forehead and back uncovered or covered in two clothing types.

        Cone Beam Computed Tomography의 두부계측분석을 통한 골격성 제3급 부정교합 환자에서 악교정 수술 후 입술과 주위 연조직의 수직적 변화

        Purpose: The aim of this study is to evaluate the vertical changes of the lip and perioral soft tissue, following orthognathic surgery in skeletal class III patients by a cephalometric analysis of a cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). Methods: A total of 20 skeletal class III patients, who had bimaxillary surgery with Le Fort 1 osteotomy and bilateral sagittal split ramus osteotomy, were included in this study. The surgical plan for maxilla was posterosuperior impaction with the anterior nasal spine, as the rotation center. Further, the surgical plan for mandible was also posterosuperior movement. The soft tissue changes between lateral cephalogram and CBCT were compared. And the correlations between independent variables and dependent variables were evaluated. Results: There were no significant differences of the soft tissues changes between lateral cephalogram and CBCT. Upper lip philtrum length (SnLs), nasolabial angle increased and upper lip vermilion length (LsStms), lower lip length (StmiB'), lower lip vermilion length (StmiLi), lower lip philtrum length (LiB') and soft tissue lower facial height (SnMe') decreased after surgery. Change of SnLs (${\Delta}$SnLs) was influenced by vertical change of menton (${\Delta}$MeV), and change of LsStms (${\Delta}$LsStms) was influenced by upper lip thickness (ULT). Change of StmiLi' (${\Delta}$StmiLi') were influenced by preoperative overjet. Change of StmiB' (${\Delta}$StmiB') were influenced by preoperative overjet, vertical change of lower incisor (${\Delta}$L1V) and horizontal change of posterior nasal spine (${\Delta}$PNSH). Change of LiB' (${\Delta}$LiB') was influenced by ${\Delta}$L1V and ${\Delta}$PNSH. Change of SnMe' (${\Delta}$SnMe') was influenced by ${\Delta}$MeV, horizontal change of upper incisor (${\Delta}$U1H) and horizontal change of lower incisor (${\Delta}$L1H). ${\Delta}$Nasolabial angle was influenced by change of ULT (${\Delta}$ULT). Conclusion: Both soft tissues and hard tissues can be evaluated by CBCT. Posterosuperior rotation of maxillomandibular complex resulted in increase of upper lip philtrum length and nasolabial angle, while the upper lip vermilion length, lower lip philtrum length, lower lip vermilion length, and soft tissue lower facial height showed a decrease.

        피복효과면에서 본 발과 다리의 체온조절적 특성

        This study was conducted to investigate the thermoregulatory characteristics of feet and legs by comparing with the physiological responses according to the covering parts of lower limbs. Five healthy female subjects wore three types of clothing-covered legs and feet(LF-C) with long trousers and socks, exposed the legs(L-E) with half trousers and socks, and exposed the legs and feet(LF-E) with only half trousers - when the subjects rested at 25℃ and were exposed to 18℃ for 90℃ min. Rectal temperatures(Tre) were maintained higher in LF-E than L-E and LF-C at both environments. Decreases of Tre after exposure to 18℃ were significantly smaller in LF-E than L-E and LF-C, and almost same in L-E and LF-C. Heat production in both environments, increases of heat production and weight loss after exposure to 18℃ were not significant among three types of clothing. From these findings it would be suggested that the legs would play the little role of voluntary thermoregulation as vasoconstriction and the role of the legs depend on thermal conditions of feet, while the feet play the positive role of voluntary thermoregulation in terms of heat conservation in cool environment.

      • 도시형 자기부상열차용 굴절형 분기장치의 개발(I)

        This paper presents the status quo of the development of a piecewise bendable switch system for the urban transit MagLev. MagLev system as well as railroad requires switch systems to reach its destination. Requirements of the switch system for commercial lines are high speed operation satisfying about 2-3 minute headway and system reliability, etc. Parallel moving type switch system was installed on the test track of urban transit MagLev in KIMM. In this system, switch operation from one position to another can be done in about 90 seconds. Therefore, we concluded that this system can not satisfy the headway for the commercial lines. We decided to develop a high speed piecewise bendable switch system in which switching can be done in 20 seconds. Designed switch system is very complicated in view of operating mechanism. It consists of 11 segmented girder beams driven by hydraulic cylinders. To gain the idea of a piecewise bendable switch system, we manufactured and tested a 1/5 scale switch model. We are going to construct a full scale piecewise bendable switch system next year.

        말초 정맥주사를 통해 비항암제 발포성 약물을 투약한 성인 환자의 일혈 발생과 위험요인

        Purpose : This study aimed to investigate the incidence of intravenous extravasation and the risk factors associated with the use of peripheral intravenous catheters in adults. Method : This prospective observational study included 203 adult patients admitted to the general ward who received non-chemotherapy vesicant drug infusion treatments. Data were analyzed using frequencies, percentage, means, standard deviations, and odds ratios (ORs) from multiple logistic regressions. Results : The incidence of extravasation was 43.3%. Risk factors for intravenous extravasation included continuous injections (OR=5.35, 95% CI [1.38, 20.83]), and parenteral nutrition (OR=3.53, 95% CI [1.43, 8.73]). Conclusion : The present findings revealed that gastrointernal medicine problems, continuous injection, and parenteral nutrition were related to intravenous extravasation. Further research is necessary to reduce the incidence of extravasation related to peripheral intravenous catheterization in adults, and to prevent secondary complications. Finally, patients should be provided appropriate and continuous care based on the type of intravenous infusion.

      • 차세대 네트워크에서의 이동성 제공 방안 비교

        Various schemes for mobility are currently studied in ITU-T, 3GPP, IETF, and so on. Mobility support in NGN for seamless service is necessarily required. Currently proposed mechanisms are MIPv6, $IP^2$, and Q.MMF. However the performance comparison of all existing schemes is not examined as yet. That is, the existing methods need to be compared according to each performance parameter. So, in this paper, we investigate and compare the performances of MIPv6, $IP^2$, Q.MMF to location registration. In addition, this paper presents the performance comparison of handover latency times. For this, we use NS-2 simulator. As a result of analysis, $IP^2$ shown the best performance as it is measured the minimum time and cost. And it has low handover latency time in comparison with other mechanisms.
