Knowledge management can guide the management of an enterprise in running the business with a greater degree of efficiency while decreasing business risks. This dissertation presented a Knowledge Management model as a simplified image outlining the relationships of the devised theory using the grounded theory approach of qualitative research. Through semi-structured interviews done by carefully determining the current preferences of organizational leaders of four oil major companies operating in the downstream oil business in the Philippines, of the relevant knowledge processes backed up by presented documents, presentations, and policy manuals. The grounded theory inquiry developed a principle on modern Knowledge Management encompassing the specifics in the downstream oil sector in the Philippines. Theoretical saturation was achieved at ten participants. Thematic analysis generated patterns of modern knowledge. In the model, there were certain management prerequisites with several characteristics and for these characteristics to be effective, sources of knowledge were clearly identified. Once validated knowledge has been established and security of knowledge has been secured, utilization of the knowledge ensues. While using the knowledge, the model puts value on responsibility to work in collaboration with other knowledge managers. Collaboration means shared responsibility to ensure that the knowledge at hand will only be used in promoting common business goals. Predicaments like devaluation, mishandling, and manipulation of knowledge are always possible and extra caution should always be given. The model which can be replicated to other organizations with allied business structures will strengthen the resolve of a knowledge management system benefits by improving the business processes, making better decisions and short and long-term strategy formulation.

A 3-year-old mixed-breed female cat was diagnosed with a ventricular septal defect of the heart through an echocardiogram. After a 9-month treatment, progressive and diffuse hard thickening of all limbs was observed, which on radiographic examinations, revealed a marked thickening of the long bones. The necropsy findings were limited to the appendicular skeleton and thoracic vertebrae, in addition to a severe cardiac interventricular septal defect and lung edema. The histological evaluation revealed severe replacement of the cortical bone by spongy bone in all bone fragments examined. This is the first report of hypertrophic osteopathy occurring in association with a cardiac malformation in a cat.
Design Convergent Dynamic Window Approach for Quadrotor Navigation

This paper propose a novel objective function for the Dynamic Window Approach (DWA). We prove the convergence property of theobjective function using Lyapunov stability criteria. Unlike previous studies which concentrate on implementing the DWA in nonholonomicvehicles, in this paper we have considered a quadrotor whose motion is limited to a fixed X-Y plane just like a holonomicvehicle. Simulation result shows our method guides the vehicle in avoiding obstacles and converge to the goal even in situations whereconventional method failed.

The hybrid manufacturing procedure of combining an initial machining process and a posterior laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) process opens a new range of possibilities for manufacturing complex parts, promising to reduce both costs and printing time. Hence, the first portion of the part might be manufactured by machining, which is used as the substrate for the LPBF. Different manufacturing processes produce a melting interface zone (MIZ) that can affect the mechanical properties of hybrid parts. This work investigates the properties of the MIZ in hybrid parts. The influence of the energy density of the LPBF process on the interface zone and the mechanical properties of the final hybrid part were assessed. The different tests showed high-quality interphase even with low energy density, with a melting depth of up to 0.3 mm. Tomography analysis showed no pores in the MIZ and the increase in pore number with the scanning speed, reducing the UTS of the hybrid samples from 8 to 42% in relation to machined Corrax®. Additionally, a test piece for injection molding was produced by this new hybrid manufacturing process. The results showed that the costs and manufacturing time were reduced by about 50%, showing a potential application of hybrid manufacturing in such applications. Besides, this work identifies a limitation of the hybrid manufacturing approach using LPBF machines which are not equipped with a system to identify the substrate coordinate system. The present study develops an operational method to identify the coordinate system in order to ease the referencing of the pre-machined substrate within the machine platform.
Effect of Cultivars, Cooking and Processing on the Trypsin Inhibitor Activity of Soybean
Felipe, Penelope,Yang, Yoon-Hyung,Lee, Jung-Hee,Sok, Dai-Eun,Kim, Hyoung-Chin,Yoon, Won-Kee,Kim, Hwan-Mook,Kim, Mee-Ree The Korean Society of Food Science and Nutrition 2005 Preventive Nutrition and Food Science Vol.10 No.1
The trypsin inhibitor activity (TIA) of various soybean cultivars was evaluated by measuring the inhibition of trypsin activity using N-benzoyl-DL-arginine-p-nitro-anilide (BAPNA) as the substrate. The TIA values of eleven white shelled soybean cultivars including a glyphosate-tolerant soybean (16.58 to 17.90㎎/g) were not significantly different among cultivars. Black shelled soybeans had higher TIA values, ranging from 40.09 to 52.11㎎/g, compared to white shelled soybeans (p<0.05). When the TIA of commercially processed soybean foods were determined, no TIA was detected in soysauce, tofu and soybean paste. During conventional moist heating, the IT/sub 50/ (Time required to reach 50% inhibition of TIA) values were decreased as heating temperature and cooking pressure increased. The IT/sub 50/ values of moist heating were estimated to be 91.68, 37.71 and 19.50 min at 60, 80 and 100℃, respectively. The IT/sub 50/ value of microwave cooking was 4.75 min at medium heat, while that of the pressure cooking at 120℃ was only 2.62min. Moreover, there was a negative relationship between temperature and IT/sub 50/ values (R=0.92, p<0.01). The TIA of soybean sprouts was completely inactivated after heating at 100℃ for 5 min, although fresh soybean sprouts showed one fifth of the TIA value of white shelled soybeans. Based on our results, pressure cooking is the most effective cooking method to reduce TIA in soybeans.
Anode power deposition in dry EDM
Felipe T. B. Macedo,Moritz Wiessner,Christoph Hollenstein,Caroline P. Martendal,Friedrich Kuster,Konrad Wegener 한국정밀공학회 2019 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol.6 No.2
Dry electrical discharge machining (DEDM) has been developed as an environmentally friendlier alternative to the traditional EDM in oil-based dielectric. Proper understanding of the physics of the DEDM discharges is necessary in order to improve this new manufacturing technology, since its workpiece material removal and tool electrode wear mechanisms are governed by plasma-material interactions. The present work proposes the application of theoretical models, numerical simulations, and advanced diagnostics from the field of plasma physics as effective tools to estimate the electric discharge power deposition onto the anode workpiece in DEDM. Collisional-radiative models are used here to calculate several plasma properties, from which the anode power deposition can be estimated. In addition, electrical circuit simulations, which use a modified Cassie-Mayr model, calculate the fraction of the total electric discharge power that is consumed by thermal conduction into the anode electrode material. The methods proposed in the present work provide fundamental information for further workpiece material erosion modelling and simulation under different DEDM processing conditions.
