        동작물의 기상재해와 그 대책

        Yield loss of wheat and barley due to meteorological constraints has been analyzed in order to get the basic information, which will lead to the counter-measures for dissemination of agricultural technology and administration. These meteorological damages were analyzed on the results of percentage yield loss and mechanism of damage and the aspects of constraints were explained. The annual yield loss of wheat and barley were 21.7% by meteorological stress: Cold damage, 5.9% ; excessive soil moisture, 5.6% ; lodging, 2.9% ; drought, 3.0% ; disease, 4.3% etc. Those damages by the stresses mentioned above and rain damage were analyzed in relation to the growth stages and the degrees of damage. The predispositions and the growth of wheat and barley to those meteorological stress are also discussed. Varietal resistances of wheat and barley to those stresses were indexed and the physiological and morphological characteristics of these resistant cultivars are described. Cultural practices to minimize the damages were also reviewed.

        대맥의 등숙일수와 수량구성요소와의 관계에 대한 유전연구 제I보 대맥의 생리적 성숙기 기준 설정

        Experiments were carried out to establish physiological maturity determination criteria with reference to visibly easy measurement in barley in 1980 at Suweon. Thirty-three cultivars and lines from 500 crossing blocks were classified into 4 heading groups, and 5 variables; moisture content, discoloration of awn, exsertion, lemma and flag leaf were measured. There were highly negative correlations between heading date and ripening periods (r=-0.656$^{**}$ ), so early heading types had longer ripening periods. Comparing with the variables used for maturity determination, moisture content and discoloration of lemma were most sensitive to development of grain-filling. Those two variables, alone or in combination could be used to screen many genotypes of barley for physiological maturity. In determination of maturity with reference to visibly easy measurement, color of lemma changed stably and was the most useful way and discolor of flag leaf increased the accuracy of determination. The color of lemma at this time was Grayish yellow, and the mean moisture content was about 33 percent in 33 barley cultivars and lines.

        纖維用亞麻의 育種에 關한 硏究 (1) 量的形質의 遺傳力과 그들間의 相關

        畓前作 纖維用 亞麻育種의 當面課題인 長莖 早熟品種을 育成하기 위하여 4交配組合의 F₂에서 우선 몇가지 形質에 對한 廣義의 遺傳力을 調査하였던바 얻어진 結果는 다음과 같다. 1. 草長에 對한 遣傳力은 4個組合이 서로 비슷하게 높았으며 이들의 全體平均은 0.745였다. 2. 莖長의 遺傳力은 組合에 따라 變異가 컸으며 Wiera×Horal는 0.73으로 높은 反面에 Fibura×Horal는 0.29로 甚히 낮았고 이들 4組合의 平均은 0.495였다. 3. 開花日數의 遺傳力도 組合間 差異가 커서 Wiera×Horal, Fibura×Horal는 各各 0.76, 0.78로 높은 反面에 Atlas×Fibura는 0.26으로서 가장 낮았으며 이들 4組合의 平均은 0.578이었다. 4. 分離世代인 4個組合의 F₂에서 이들 形質間의 相關은 草長對 莖長은 높은 正相關(0.7016), 草長對開花日數, 莖長對開花日數間에는 各各 0.4562, 0.5812로 比較的 높은 正相關關係를 보았다. 5. 遺傳力과 遺傳進展量으로 볼때 草長과 莖長이 높은 方向으로 選拔은 可能하나 早熟이면서 同時에 草業과 莖長이 높은 個體의 選拔은 熟期와 草長間에 높은 正相關 때문에 難點이 있다고 본다. In order to develop an efficient breeding program of flax for long fiber of high quality and early maturity, informations are needed on heritability of plant height, stem length, flowering date and on associations among these characters. Four crosses were made; Wiera×Horal, Atlas×Horal, Fibura×Horal and Atlas×Fibura. Data were taken on individual plant basis for the population and their parents. Estimation of heritability was obtained by: (수식), where VF₂is total F₂variance of the character, VP₁and VP₂are environmental variances of the respective parents. (1) Heritability of plant height for the four combinations was high with almost same values and their total average was 0.745. (2) Variation of heritability of stem length in the four combinations was some what large and their average was 0.495. (3) Average of heritability of flowering date for the four combinations was 0.578 and the Atlas×Fibura combination showed the lowest heritability (H=0.26). (4) In the segregating F₂population, plant height was positively correlated with stem length(r=0.7016**) and flowering date(r=0.4562**) and stem length showed positive correlation with flowering date (r=0.5812**). (5) Selection on plant height or stern length is possible based on the high heritability of these characters but the high positive correlation between plant height and heading date indicates the difficulty of the selection of tall height plant with early maturity.

        Inheritance of Straw Stiffness in Winter Barley (Hordeum vulgare L.)

        To clarify the genetics of straw stiffness and to establish a selection criterion for improvement of lodging resistance 8×8 diallel set and selected F₂ populations were grown at Suweon. The results obtained were summarized as the followings; 1. The components of variation estimated for straw stiffness suggested that the additive genetic variation is very important followed by dominant genetic variation. 2. The allelic distribution was unequal in the parents used and involvement of more dominant genes behaving additively was noticed. 3. Wr, Vr analysis indicated that Kangbori is recessive gene carrier compare to others. Buhung seemingly carries non-allelic dominant gene against to other varieties. 4. F₂ analysis suggested that Kangbori carries two recessive genes associated with stiff straw. Buheung and Olbori may carry one dominant gene which is non-allelic each other. 5. Among the parents tested Buheung. Kangbori Suweon 4, Olbori and Samheung were good combiners while Suweon 18, Suke 165 and CI 6332 were the poors. 6. Heritabilities estimated were high enough to be effective in selection for culm stiffness in the early segregating population.
