<P>Robust composite nanofibers (NFs) are prerequisite for highly efficient electrochemical sensors. We report the electrochemical application of gold nanoparticle (Au NP)-composite Nafion NFs using a facile electrospinning technique. Owing to the uniform distribution and large surface area of the Au NPs in the NFs, the Au NP-composite electrodes gave rise to greatly improved electrochemical properties, compared to AuNP-free composite electrodes. When they were employed as reservoirs for immobilizing horseradish peroxidase (HRP), reliable and sensitive electrochemical detection by the enzyme reaction was achieved. The detection sensitivity for H<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>2</SUB> was determined to be as low as 38 nM, which was one order higher than that of previous electrochemical sensors. In addition, there was no change in the enzyme stability over three weeks. <P>We report the fabrication of graphene–WO<SUB>3</SUB>–Au hybrid membranes and evaluate their photocatalytic activity towards glucose oxidase mediated enzymatic glucose oxidation. The dual-functionality of gold nanoparticles in the reinforcement of visible light activity of graphene–WO<SUB>3</SUB> membranes and improving the catalytic activity of immobilized enzymes for unique photoelectrochemical sensing application is demonstrated. The aim of present study was to elucidate antiinitiatingefficacy of galangin against benzo(a)pyrene(B(a)P)-induced lung carcinogenesis in male Swiss albinomice. Therefore, the activities of xenobiotic metabolicenzymes such as phase I and II were examined in lung aswell as liver tissues (to compare the effects between targetand non-target organs). Besides, the activities/levels oftissue marker enzymes, antioxidants, lipid peroxidation(LPO), cytochrome P450 1A1 (CYP1A1) expressions andhistological observation of lungs were also analyzed. B(a)P(50 mg/kg body weight) was administered to male Swissalbino mice (20–25 g) to experimentally induce lung cancer. B(a)P-induced animals showed increased activity ofphase I (Cytochrome P450, Cytochrome b5, NADPHCytochrome P450 redcutase and NADH Cytochrome b5reductase) drug metabolic enzymes, LPO levels, tissuemarker enzymes and decreased activity of phase II metabolicenzymes (glutathione-S-transferase, DT-diaphoraseand UDP-glucuronyl transferase) as well as antioxidantlevels. Histological examination of lungs revealed severealveolar and bronchiolar damages in B(a)P-induced mice. Immunohistochemical and western blot analysis ofCYP1A1 increased significantly in lung tissues of B(a)Pinducedanimals. Treatment with galangin (20 mg/kg bodyweight) efficiently counteracted all the above anomaliesand restored cellular homeostasis. Our results demonstratethat galangin can modify xenobiotic enzymes in murinemodel of pulmonary tumorigenesis.
Analysis Of T2dm In Chennai Using Linguistic Fuzzy Relational Maps

The occurrence of diabetes is increasing worldwide and 90% of T2DM population is observed hivin developing countries. In the past three decades India has projected a multiplying population of T2DM. Diabetes mellitus is a heterogeneous group of diseases, which lead to high blood glucose levels due to irregularities in insulin secretion or insulin action. In a complex disease like T2DM, Neuropathy, Retinopathy, Nephropathy, Cardiovascular are the four long term complications. This paper expresses the Fuzzy Relation Maps between the risk factors and the long term complications of T2DM relative to people of Chennai. This research paper consists of five sections. The first section deals with the different analysis of diabetes using fuzzy concepts. The section two introduces the concept of T2DM and the long term complications. The third section describes basic definition and notation about FRM (Fuzzy Relational Maps).In section four, Fuzzy Relation mapping applied to the concept of T2DM. Section five gives the conclusions and suggestions.

A hardware architecture is presented to decode (N, K) polar codes based on a low-density parity-check code-like decoding method. By applying suitable pruning techniques to the dense graph of the polar code, the decoder architectures are optimized using fewer check nodes (CN) and variable nodes (VN). Pipelining is introduced in the CN and VN architectures, reducing the critical path delay. Latency is reduced further by a fully parallelized, single-stage architecture compared with the log N stages in the conventional belief propagation (BP) decoder. The designed decoder for short-to-intermediate code lengths was implemented using the Virtex-7 field-programmable gate array (FPGA). It achieved a throughput of 2.44 Gbps, which is four times and 1.4 times higher than those of the fast-simplified successive cancellation and combinational decoders, respectively. The proposed decoder for the (1024, 512) polar code yielded a negligible bit error rate of 10<sup>-4</sup> at 2.7 E<sub>b</sub>/N<sub>o</sub> (dB). It converged faster than the BP decoding scheme on a dense parity-check matrix. Moreover, the proposed decoder is also implemented using the Xilinx ultra-scale FPGA and verified with the fifth generation new radio physical downlink control channel specification. The superior error-correcting performance and better hardware efficiency makes our decoder a suitable alternative to the successive cancellation list decoders used in 5G wireless communication.

Real-world bilateral monopolies often indicate that one party exercises slightly superior bargaining power than the other party. We analyze long-term, cooperative contracts in bilateral monopolies with unequal bargaining powers. We assume that the two parties bargain for a determinate price and quantity of the intermediate product by optimizing a joint objective which takes into account the profits and bargaining power of each party. We use a Bowley price leadership model to develop the multi-period contracts and derive conditions that induce a Nash equilibrium at the jointly determined points of operation. [C71, C78]

<P>We demonstrate one-step gold nanoparticle (AuNP) coating and the surface nitridation of TiO<SUB>2</SUB> nanowires (TiO<SUB>2</SUB>-NWs) to amplify visible-light photon reflection. The surface nitridation of TiO<SUB>2</SUB>-NW arrays maximizes the anchoring of AuNPs, and the subsequent reduction of the band gap energy from 3.26 eV to 2.69 eV affords visible-light activity. The finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) simulation method clearly exhibits the enhancement in the strengths of localized electric fields between AuNPs and the nanowires, which significantly improves the photocatalytic (PC) performance. Both nitridation and AuNP decoration of TiO<SUB>2</SUB>-NWs result in beneficial effects of high (e<SUP>−</SUP>/h<SUP>+</SUP>) pair separation through healing of the oxygen vacancies. The combined effect of harvesting visible-light photons and reducing recombination in Au/N-doped TiO<SUB>2</SUB>-NWs promotes the photocatalytic activity towards degradation of methyl orange to an unprecedented level, ∼4 fold (1.1 × 10<SUP>−2</SUP> min) more than does TiO<SUB>2</SUB>-NWs (2.9 × 10<SUP>−3</SUP> min<SUP>−1</SUP>). Evaluation of Antioxidant and Pharmacological Properties of Psychotria nilgiriensis Deb & Gang

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the antioxidant and pharmacological properties of fruit, stem, and leaf extract of Psychotria nilgiriensis. Acetone extract of P. nilgiriensis fruit was found to have highest total phenolics (505.74 mg GAE/g extract), tannin (460.78 mg GAE/g extract), and flavonoid (67.78 mg RE/g extract) content. In vitro antioxidant studies revealed that the acetone extract of fruit posses significant antioxidant activity in DPPH radical scavenging, ABTS•+, and ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) assays. In vivo studies revealed that P. nilgiriensis fruit (400 mg/kg) showed good analgesic activity in hot plate method (72%), acetic acid induced writhing test (53%) and also showed significant in carrageenan induced inflammation (73.54%). GC/MS analysis of fruit showed the presence of sesquiterpenes. The study highlights the significant medicinal value of the plant.
