Taxonomic revision of the subgenus Bothynoptera (Coleoptera: Carabidae) from Korea

Subgenus Bothynoptera Schaum, 1863 of the genus Parena is mainly found in Oriental region. Despite this widespread distribution, species of the subgenus Bothynoptera are poorly known in Korea. While a total of 14 species have been recorded worldwide, only 3 species have been recorded in Korea. In this study, as a revisional work of Korean known species, a pictorial key and photographs of habitus and male genitalia for each species are provided, with a newly recorded species in Korea.
Room-temperature NO<sub>2</sub> sensor based on electrochemically etched porous silicon

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>With high-performance room-temperature gas sensors being in great demand from an energy-saving standpoint, in this study, we fabricated porous silicon (PS) sensors by electrochemically etching at different times (30, 60, and 90 min). The porous nature of the etched PSs was studied using scanning electron microscopy, and subsequently gas sensors were fabricated. NO<SUB>2</SUB> sensing studies showed that the highest gas performance can be obtained at room temperature (30 °C). Furthermore, the PS sensor etched for 60 min had the best performance among the sensors, which is related to its higher surface area and high enough initial resistance. In particular for the PS sensor etched for 60 min, the response (R<SUB>a</SUB>/R<SUB>g</SUB>) to 10 ppm NO<SUB>2</SUB> was 9.56, which was much higher than other interfering gases, demonstrating its high selectivity towards NO<SUB>2</SUB> gas. This study reveals the need for optimization of electrochemical etching to realize gas sensors based on PS working at room temperature.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> We fabricated porous silicon (PS) sensors for room-temperature NO<SUB>2</SUB> sensing, by electrochemically etching at different times. </LI> <LI> The PS sensor etched for 60 min had the best performance among the sensors. </LI> <LI> The response of PS sensor to 10 ppm NO<SUB>2</SUB> was 9.56, demonstrating its high selectivity towards NO<SUB>2</SUB> gas. </LI> </UL> </P>

This paper is an introductory study to comprehensively grasp the betweenness centrality of government offices in the early Joseon dynasty using HAVNet data. The process of extracting data around the “Annals of the Joseon Dynasty” and designing and building HAVNet as the basis for research was conducted by history and computer science researchers, which were not the usual method in Korean historical research until now. The approach and analysis results carried out in this study are fundamentally different from previous studies related to the government organizations in the early Joseon dynasty. It is unique study in that it was analyzed based on the contents recorded in the Annals of the Joseon dynasty, not on previous research framework of analysis of state administration and government organizations in the early Joseon dynasty. Based on this study, we will conduct an interdisciplinary research that comprehensively analyzes blood ties and relationships among all historical figures of the Joseon dynasty.

생약 재료로 사용되어 왔던 가시오가피 추출액의 혈관 생리 활성을 평가하기 위하여 혈관 내피세포에서 다양한 실험을 수행하였다. 가시오가피 추출액은 혈관 내피세포 성장을 촉진하면서 세포사멸에는 영향을 미치지 않았다. 또한 혈관 내피세포의 세포 이동이 가시오가피 추출액에 의하여 촉진됨을 알 수 있었다. 이와 같은 연구 결과를 보면, 가시오가피 추출액이 혈관 형성을 유발시키는 작용을 하는 것으로 예측된다. 또한 가시오가피 추출액이 산화질소(NO)의 생산을 증가시키는 기능과 THP-1의 내피세포 부착을 억제하는 기능을 동시에 갖고 있음을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과는 가시오가피가 동맥경화 발생을 억제시키는 약물임을 의미한다. 또한 가시오가피 추출액은 THP-1 세포의 동종세포 응집을 촉발하는 기능을 함으로서 상처 난 부위에서 일어나는 출혈을 억제할 것으로 예측된다. 결론적으로 가시오가피 추출액은 다양한 혈관 생리 활성을 갖는 생약 재료로 평가된다. Crude extracts of Acanthopanax senticosus (A. senticosus) have been used as galenicals. In this study we carried out a series of experiments to examine cardiovascular activities of crude extracts from A. senticosus. Whereas the extracts had no effect on the apoptosis of bovine aortic endothelial cells (BAECs), the extracts appeared to induce endothelial cell proliferation. In addition, endothelial cell migration was shown to be enhanced by the crude extracts, indicating that A. senticosus extracts likely act as an angiogenic factor. We also examined effects of A. senticosus extracts on nitric oxide (NO) production, leukocytic adhesion to endothelium, and homotypic aggregation of leukocytes. Both the NO production and the leukocytic adhesion to endothelial cells were revealed to be increased by treatment with A. senticosus extracts, but the homotypic aggregation of leukocytes was inhibited. Together, multiple roles of A. senticosus extracts in the cardiovascular system provide an insight on their broad applications as galenicals to treat cardiovascular diseases.
지식 그래프 구축을 위한 논문 내의 트리플 추출 향상 프롬프트 탐색

본 연구는 전문적인 과학 지식을 담고 있는 논문에서 GPT-4를 활용해, 지식 구조를 형성하는데 필요한 Triple을 효과적으로 추출하는 Prompt를 탐색한다. 이러한 탐색은 다양한 Prompt가 Triple 문장의 지식수준에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 최적의 Prompt를 사용하여 Triple을 추출 및 성능 비교하고 Prompt를 제안한다. 또한, 추출된 Triple을 이용하여 지식 그래프(Knowledge Graph, KG)를 구성하는 가능성을 검토하며 구성된 지식 그래프의 구조, 연결 강도(Edge), 밀집도 등을 평가한다. 이러한 분석은 GPT-4가 제공하는 개체명 인식(Named Entity Recognition, NER)에 좋은 성능을 보인 점을 과학 도메인에 적용시키고, 그에 따라 변화하는 Triple 추출 효율성을 판단하여 지식 그래프 형성의 실현 가능성을 탐색한다. In this Paper, we use GPT-4 in a paper containing professional scientific knowledge to explore a Prompt that effectively extracts Triple required to form a knowledge structure. This exploration analyzes the impact of various Prompts on the knwledge level of Triple sentences, extract and compares the performance of Triple using the optimal Prompt, and proposes a Prompt. In addition, we examine the possibillity of constructing a knowledge Graph(KG) using the extracted Triple and evaluate the structure, connection strength(Edge), density, etc. of the constructed knowledge graph. This analysis applies the fact that GPT-4 has performed well in the named entity recognition(NER) provided by GPT-4 to the scientific domain, and explores the feasibility of forming a knowledge graph by determining the changing Triple extraction efficiency accordingly.
모드해석과 모달시험을 통한 Park Lock Wheel 동특성 분석

Recently, under the purpose of fuel efficiency due to intensifying fuel efficiency regulation of worldwide transport area, the development of multistage automatic transmission, that power performance and fuel efficiency which are basic vehicle performances can be improved at the same time, is ongoing. In accordance with development of this transmission, the vibration charcteristics were predicted by comparing and verifying the modal analysis of the existing separable Park Lock Wheel with the modal test with the aim of national development of herb compound Park Lock Wheel for weight lightening and simplification. The research performed the modal analysis setting material properties and boundary condition of the existing Park Lock Wheel using ANSYS which is a limitation element analysis program, and after comparing and analyzing the modal test result based on the analysis result, it was proved that 1st resonant frequency of the existing Park Lock Wheel occurs in high-frequency band(634Hz). Further, reliability of the modal analysis and analysis method were established. In addition, production process of trial manufactured goods can be shortened by applying analysis result in early design stage of the herb compound Park Lock Wheel.
Review of the subgenus Plataphus (Bembidiini: Bembidiina: Bembidion) of Korea

The genus Bembidion is a prominent terrestrial group found in various regions around the world, encompassing a large number of species. Species of this genus have a reduced apical palpomere, as do all members of the tribe Bembidiini. This study reviews four species belonging to the subgenus Plataphus, which is included within the genus Bembidion. Descriptions and photos of adults are provided.
